Biochemistry in High School Education
Roštejnská, Milada ; Klímová, Helena (advisor) ; Smrček, Stanislav (referee) ; Dundr, Milan (referee)
In conclusion I would like to highlight the fact that I believe all aims were fulfilled. The results of the educational materials analysis show that there is none sufficiently suitable complex educational program on the market that could help teaching biochemistry at secondary schools. There are animations and presentations available on the Internet, but their level is far too high for the secondary schools. The animations are usually available only in the English version. The questionnaire investigation has shown that the vast majority of schools are equipped with basic computer instrumentation and other necessary equipment (data projector, screen) to be able to include the modern information technologies into the educational process. The teachers would welcome any teaching aids aimed on the Photosynthesis, Citric acid cycle, Metabolisms and Proteosynthesis. As the questionnaire investigation showed the most problematic parts of the biochemistry subject matter, I have prepared the educational text targeting these areas of biochemistry. This text was divided to form the basis for two tutoring programs: "Biochemical Processes in Human Body" and "Photosynthesis in Dynamic Animations". The tutoring programs are composed of educational PowerPoint presentations and Macromedia Flash animations...

Feasibility study of producing project of new flexible foil
Krynková, Pavla ; Kačín, Radovan (advisor) ; Cejthamr, Václav (referee)
After becomming a member of European Union the opportunity of drawing subsidies from Structural Funds has occured to different subjects in the Czech Republic. Most applications must be accompanied by a feasibility study of the project. This work is currently focused on the development of such a feasibility study. It is divided in two parts - theoretical and practical. The various stages of process and general structure of the feasibility study are described in the theoretical part. In the practical part set out in detail the various points of binding outline feasibility study. The aim of this work is to create a background for the feasibility study of production of flexible foil.

The Gospel of Mark and an anthic tragedy
Duchek, Libor ; Mrázek, Jiří (advisor) ; Heryán, Ladislav (referee)
This essay (Mark`s gospel and antique tragedy) concerns the stylistic quality of Mark`s gospel. First it generally compares antique genres with Mark`s gospel and briefly enumerates the correspondences and the divergences. It will come to the conclusion that Mark`s gospel has the most common elements with a greek tragedy. That for at first it compares religious and sociological function of a tragedy and gospel. When some of these functions will have found, the essay will concentrate on requirements of tragedy production, especially these included in Aris totel`s Poetic. In the analysis of Mark`s Prolog of gospel we are going to show also the other dramatic functions and narativ strategies, which are typical for Mark. In the framework of modern literary critique the essey continues with analysis of narativ function of characters and other dramatic tools. Like an appendix we also add a short list of Mark`s figures of speech and trope with a few examples. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The Achievements of Czech and Czechoslovak Athletes in the Olympic Games (1896-2004)
Přibylová, Barbora ; Kaplan, Aleš (advisor) ; Petr, Miroslav (referee)
V ANGLIČTINĚ The achievements ofczech and czechoslovak athletes at Olympic Games from 1896- 2004 Introduction: The athletics has always been considered as the queen of olympic sports. This sport branch has a long history and accomplished to train up many of successful athletes, who represented the czech countries at modem Olympic Garnes. This historical study is devoted to the athletes placed to 6th place at the Garnes and also evaluates the reached achievements. Objective: To find out all the czech and czechoslovak athletes who has placed to 6th place and verify the values of reached achievements. To analyse achievements of our olympic participation according to different aspects. Method: We charted the participation and achievements from the archive of the Czech Olympic Comrnittee and from encyclopedia of Olympic Garnes. We decided to the following way of awarding points: 1st place - 6 points, 2nd place - 5 points, 3rd place - 4 points, 4th place - 3 points, 5th place - 2 points, 6th place - 1 point. Results: The results of our study suggest that our athlete gained 32 medals all together, the most successful Olympic Garnes for our athletics were in Helsinki 1952 according to medal score (5 medals) and points given for all performances placed to the 6th place. The most successful Garnes for...

Mpembe effect - reality or fiction? (Hysteresis by water freezing).
Böhm, Pavel ; Obdržálek, Jan (advisor) ; Rotter, Miloš (referee)
The aim of this thesis was to review theoretically and experimentally so-called Mpemba eect, where the initially hot water freezes sooner than the initially cold one. Based upon already published theoretical and experimental works, a list of circumstances possibly supporting this phenomenon was created and discussed. Some situations were veried experimentally. These experiments were carried out partly in laboratory using small amounts of distilled water (less than 1 ml), partly in "kitchen conditions" using the tap water (about 200 ml) and a commercial home refrigerator. The time of freezing dened by freezing of the entire body of water was measured using the inection points of cooling curves. Unlikely to the Mpemba eect (and likely to the usual expectations), usually the sample of cold water freezes sooner than the hot one. The Mpemba eect occured rarely, mostly when the cooler was covered by the layer of the snow and the hot vessel could melt through it to reach better thermal contact than the cold vessel. Other observed cases were mostly inconclusive.

Determinants of Claims Satisfaction in Insolvency Proceedings in the Czech Republic
Pařízek, Petr ; Skuhrovec, Jiří (advisor) ; Luňáčková, Petra (referee)
This paper examines determinants of creditors' claims satisfaction in insolvency proceedings in the Czech Republic. To our knowledge, it is the first research to such extent in the Czech Republic covering this field. Combining microdata from Insolvency Register, Business Register, Ministry of Finance and other sources, we construct a unique dataset of more than 2,600 cases. We identify several basic determinants of satisfaction: a higher share of secured claims, real estate and cash in assets of a company, submission of financial statements into Business Register, selling the business as a whole within the proceedings, and entrepreneur cases. We find no such effect for the audit of financial statements or for the age of a company. Moreover, we search for other indicators that may result in the lower satisfaction of claims, out of which five are statistically significant: a homeless person in statutory body, registered office at a firm nest, being listed as unreliable VAT payer, a connection to persons that have multiple records in Insolvency Register and a substantial increase in depreciation in the period between the last two submitted financial statements. In contradiction to the bankruptcy prediction literature, we show that the financial data are unreliable for predicting the outcome of insolvency...

Body
Štys, Filip ; Petříček, Miroslav (advisor) ; Čapek, Jakub (referee)
In the first part of this paper I followed Michel Foucault's genealogy of modern power. That is a new, productive type of power acting upon the body and through the body. Modern bodies and subjects, in itself, are coming into being by the effects of this power. The production of modern subject eventuates through the effects of knowledge-power complex. Judith Butler added to Foucault's analysis the temporal and reiterative dimension of this production and a new conception of matter allowing a different understanding of materiality of the body. In the second part I'm searching for the possible subversions, co called escape lines from domain of the modern power, which are based on bodily practices. I'm following here the work of Deleuze and Guattari. In the end I introduced the butoh-dance as one possible escape line.

Uncertainty associated with survey design in species distribution models
Vrabeľ, Matej ; Moudrý, Vítězslav (advisor) ; Barták, Vojtěch (referee)
Properly choosen input data, their form, way of the collection an the following correction as well, are the key factors affecting the accuracy of the more and more popular models of the species model distribution (SDM). A design unfluence of the data to the choosen distribution model of the virtual species has been tested. The General Linear Model (GLM) has been used. Four types of the present-absent collection designs have been tested for a virtual species on the area of the Czech Republic as follows: accidental, systematic, points on the easy accessible areas (near the communications) and the points with the higher concentration of the scientists (an area of CHKO).The TSS (True skills statistics), KAPPA and AUC (Area under curve) have been used to compare the accuracy of the prediction of the models .The points being choosen from the easy to access areas and CHKO had worse results in all of the monitored values than the accidental or the systematic choice of the points from the whole area of the Czech Republic. It results that the data collection mode affects the final accuracy of the species distribution models.

Minimum Weight Triangulation (MWT)
Charvát, Pavel ; Kolingerová, Ivana (advisor) ; Ferko, Andrej (referee)
For a long time, it has been neither known whether MWT is solvable in a polynomial time nor whether it belongs to NP. As we now, its status still remain unknown. We present severalknown approaches to MWT such as modifications of the problem with known time complexity or various heuristics and approximations which allow us to find an exact or at least an approximate solution in a reasonable time. We compare the approximations in some particular situations. The main part of the work is devoted to a description and implementation of an efficient heuristic with (almost?) linear expected complexity for points uniformly distributed in some convex shape. The algorithm is a modification of Drysdale's algorithm for finding GT candidates and Beurouti's computation of the modified LMT-skeleton, where we add some proofs of the correctness. We are able to complete MWT from the graph of candidate edges in O(n · d3 + n · d2+k), where d is the the maximum degree and k is the maximum number of inner components of some skeleton face. Further, we suggest a new approximation of MWT with polynomial complexity in the worst case and (almost?) linear expected complexity, which only rarely differs from the optimal triangulation and has O(1) approximation factor in the worst case. This approximation combines the LMT-skeleton...
