The specifics of pediatric radiology
KOLÁŘOVÁ, Veronika
Hardly anything is able to induce stronger emotions in the average man than those induced by matters relating to children. Paediatric patients are not little adults, so not only high-quality modern instrumentation and specific procedures, but also the medical staff?s professional attitude and an adapted environment are desirable when applying radiologic diagnostic imaging techniques. The priority requirement is generally to minimize the radiation burden ? both the overall dose and especially the gonadal dose. In terms of radiation protection, it applies twice to children that the indication for the use of an examination must always be thoroughly considered. A paediatric radiologist must always accurately determine the correct sequence of individual methods (a so-called examination algorithm) that will give the best diagnostic result with the lowest radiation burden and invasiveness. The aim of this bachelor?s thesis was to analyze the difference in a radiology assistant?s approach to a child and to an adult during radiology examinations and to determine whether a child and his/her legal guardian, if any, have sufficient information when the child undergoes radiology examinations. To clear up the aims of the bachelor?s thesis, research using a technique in which two questionnaires were used was used to collect data. The questionnaires were in both the printed form and the electronic form. The surveys took place in selected radiology departments in Strakonice, in Pisek, in Plzeň, and in Ústí nad Labem. The respondents chose from the answer options for some questions and filled in their answers for the others. The respondents? answers are represented using graphs in the ?Results? chapter. The individual graphs are described there and the most interesting answers to questionnaire questions are supplemented by general thoughts and my personal assumptions and opinions in the following ?Discussion? chapter. The practical part of the bachelor?s thesis proves that the aim of the thesis was achieved. The research questions were answered. The surveys found that the answer to the first research question, i.e. whether radiography assistants take a different approach to a child and to an adult when applying radiological imaging methods, was ?yes?. Radiography assistants take a different approach to a child and to an adult. The answer to the second research question, i.e. whether a child and his or her legal guardian, if any, have sufficient information on radiological examinations, is also positive. A child and his or her legal guardian, if any, have sufficient information on radiological examinations. I have summarised the results of my work in the ?Conclusion? chapter. Further, the surveys found that persons accompanying a child perceive the environment of radiology departments as a friendly, safe and comfortable environment. The only lack of accompanying persons? awareness that could be perceived negatively from the results of the questionnaires within this bachelor?s thesis is the finding that the lay public is not clear about the amount of radiation received during certain radiological examinations (CTs and X-ray examinations) and that the possibility of buying the record of a radiological examination on a CD is not generally known. There is room for active radiology workers who are interested in raising public awareness about radiology examinations. This bachelor?s thesis proved that also lay persons accompanying children are interested in being a part of the team, trying to achieve a beneficial result of the examination. The purpose of the bachelor?s thesis was to prepare a comprehensive text on issues of specifics in paediatric radiology that can be used as supplementary material when examining children.

Nursing care of clients around the shoulder joint prosthesis
HÖFEROVÁ, Eva
This bachelor´s work tries to specify and determine differences in the care of a client after a shoulder joint replacement. The shoulder joint is a complicated joint of the shoulder girdle which can be affected by many disorders and worsen the whole self-care of the client. If a damage or a disorder of the shoulder joint appears, the client may become non-self sufficient and dependent on the help of others. The bachelor´s work is divided into two parts. The first part is a theoretical part and deals with the history ? how replacements were performed and looked like if compared with the present times and the present possibilities of treatment. The anatomy has to be followed by another important information concerning indications and reasons for performing the replacement. The reasons are different. As far as we mentioned indications, we also have to mention contraindications, i.e. reasons for which the replacement must not be performed. After going through the contraindications, we get to a chapter about examining and here we mention the complete examination of the shoulder joint and how the shoulder joint is examined before the operation. An important part of this bachelor´s work is a preoperative care which relates to a complete preparation of the client for the operation. The preoperative care is followed by a postoperative one. The postoperative care starts at an intensive care unit (ICU) where the client is transfered from the operation theatre. At the ICU, the client is monitored and all undesirable situations that might appear are observed. The second part relates to carrying out the research and to setting the aims of the bachelor´s work. The research was carried out on the basis of a semi-structured interview with nurses in the Hospital České Budějovice on the The interviews were carried out since January to March 2013. All the written interviews were later transferred into an electronic record. The questions related to the nursing care of the client before and after the operation of the shoulder joint, to a position of the upper limb after the operation, and to the complete care of the client. The answers result in the fact that all the respondents know and manage the care of the clients after the operation of the shoulder limb. The major follow-up care includes putting the client into the right position and supporting his upper arm, checking the blood samples, an X-ray image and applying the Gilchrist- bandage. The second part of the interview was focused on providing the clients with information before and after the operation, who, when and what type of information is given to the client and what extent is the client informed to. All the interviews were evaluated and divided into cathegories. Two research questions, relating to this work, were determined. The research question about the principles in nursing the clients with the shoulder joint replacement, and the one about a way in which runs passing the information to the clients with the shoulder joint replacement. Both of the questions were answered. The answer for the first question was, that the major principles include the position of the operated limb, the Fowler´s position of the client, the X-ray image and applying the Gilchrist-bandage, carrying out the blood samples, checking the client´s complete condition and proper and careful rehabilitation. The second question, concerning the information, was also answered by the respondents. The client is told the information orally at the moment of his transfer from the operation theatre to the ICU department. But first of all, the client is told about what is going to happen on the Department of Orthopaedics by the nurses.

Self-sufficiency of NGOs in culture
Vyhnánková, Jana ; Boukal, Petr (advisor) ; Römerová, Eva (referee)
The master's thesis focuses on self-sufficiency of NGOs in culture, especially on NGOs in performing arts. The thesis aims to analyze the current status of self-sufficiency of NGOs doing performing arts in the Czech Republic. The research was conducted by means of electronic questionnaires sent to NGOs managers or financial employees. The research has shown that NGOs doing performing arts generate a relatively high level of own funds and they diversify their sources successfully. NGOs do not draw much money from the private sector but they use foreign funds a lot. There is still room for improvement in strategic planning of NGOs fundraising and marketing activities.

Histological and histochemical study of the male accessory glands mosquito Culex pipiens s.l. as that of model animal human prostate
HODÍK, Jakub
ABSTRACT This thesis is a comparative histological study of accessory gonads (prostate) in model animal males. The animals compared included males of the mosquito species Culex pipiens s.l. as a representative of insects and males of the mouse as representatives of mammals. Furthermore, three staining methods applicable to histological examination of the prostate were compared. Histological and histochemical investigation of the mosquito was performed on its abdominal part or on its prepared gonads. The urinary bladder with the prostate was prepared from the male mouse. The tissue was fixed in Bouin{\crq}s fixative or in the Dubosque-Brasil modification. The fixed tissue was embedded in paraffin and sliced on a Leica rotary microtome. Two histological staining methods, viz. the Mallory method and the hematoxylin- eosin method, and one histochemical staining method, using paraldehyde-fuchsin light green orange G, were applied to the histological sections. Staining after Mallory appeared to suit best the comparative histological examinations. This technique provided the best picture of the tissues and cells in the two species studied. Hematoxylin-eosin staining, popular for mammal tissues, was not very suitable for insect tissues because the cells were not stained to a sufficient extent. As regards the staining of the male gonads with paraldehyde-fuchsin light green orange G, the result was non-representative for either species. The histological and histochemical comparative studies showed similar structures of the prostate and other organs of the male reproductive system. For insects to be usable as model animals, many investigations focussing particularly on immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy with immunolabelling or in situ hybridization will have to be performed.

Market research and the prospectus of a particular company providing personal services
NĚMCOVÁ, Radka
The subject of the thesis was ``Market research and the prospectus of a particular company providing personal services{\crqq} applied to the Wedding Agency MERCI with its main product - the ``turnkey wedding{\crqq}. The thesis principally aimed to analyze current market conditions as well as to propose a specific business plan. Proposing a founding budget, creating a form to learn the needs and desires of clients and finding out the background details necessary for drawing up an income tax return was one of the sub-objectives. An electronic questionnaire enquiry indicated that an interest in services of a wedding agency remains and that the potential of possible customers is sufficient for founding another small company in this sphere of business. The investment intensity is acceptable for the company{\crq}s founder, as all the costs concerning the founding of the wedding agency come from own resources. Four budgets of financially different weddings were drawn up as background information for the theoretical calculation of the trading income and the subsequent drawing up an individual income tax return. Furthermore, current market conditions were analyzed, particularly those of the general and trade surroundings, giving a base to the proposal of a specific business plan, including the proposal of the business budget as well as to a fictitious income tax return for the first year of business activities. The objectives of the thesis were met.

Quantum computing algorithms for quantum chemistry
Višňák, Jakub ; Skála, Lubomír (advisor) ; Čurík, Roman (referee) ; Pittner, Jiří (referee)
Title: Quantum computing algorithms for quantum chemistry Author: Jakub Višňák Abstract: The topic of this study is the simulation of the quantum algorithm for the diagonalization of the matrix representation of the all-electron Dirac-Coulomb hamiltonian of the SbH molecule. Two different limited CI expansions were used to describe both the ground state (X 0+ ) and the first excited doublet (A 1) by simulating the Iterative Phase Estinamtion Algorith (IPEA). In the simulations numerically performed in this work, the "compact mapping" has been employed for the representation of the evolution operator exp(i Hˆ t); in the theoretical part of the work, the "direct mapping" is described as well. The influence of the metodics for choosing the initial eigenvector estimate is studied in both IPEA A and IPEA B variants. For those variants, the success probabilities pm are computed for different single-points on the SbH dissociation curves. The initial eigenvector estimates based on the "CISD(2)" method are found to be sufficient for both studied LCI-expansions up to internuclear distance R  6 a0. The pm dependence on the overlap between the eigenvector in question and its inital estimate - 2 0  is studied the for IPEA B method. The usability of the both variants of the IPEA in possible later calculations is...

Image of Exel Brand
Petráček, Marek ; Janák, Vladimír (advisor) ; Voráček, Josef (referee)
Title: Image of Exel brand Objectives: The objective of this bachelor thesis is to find out what is the image of brand Exel like and suggest measures which could improve the image of the brand on the Czech market. That would be based on marketing research and its obtained data. Methods: This bachelor thesis uses the method of electronic questioning and interview. The method of interview was used during the meeting with representative of Exel brand for the Czech market. The data that helped to identify the image of the chosen brand was collected by electronic questioning. The interview was also used to question several floorball players to get a more detail information about the Exel brand. The research sample was chosen from fundamental aggregate of floorball players, who are the potential customers on the floorball market. Results: The results of marketing research on image of Exel brand have shown that the brand holds a good position on the Czech floorball market. The brand is from the big part evaluated as quality, traditional and has the modern looking design of products. The research has next shown that floorball players do not have sufficient information about the brand. That might be caused by the bad promotion of brand, for example by absence of quality web pages. I have also tried to...

Modelling of plasma-solid interaction
Nožka, Jan ; Hrach, Rudolf (advisor) ; Hron, Jaroslav (referee)
Title: Modelling of plasma-solid interaction Author: Jan Nožka Department: Institute of Theoretical Physics Supervisor: prof. RNDr. Rudolf Hrach, DrSc., Department of Surface and Plasma Science Abstract: This work is devoted to computer modeling of the low-temperature argon plasma discharge. We created one basic particle model and one basic fluid model. Furthermore, we created a model of electron-electron interaction in three dimensions. This model is able to stabilize nonequilibrium electron gas in the expected equilibrium. This model was developed to investigate the influence of electron-electron scattering on the acceleration of electrons above the speed that is sufficient for excitation or ionization of neutral argon atom. At the end of this work there are results that shed a light on the importance of this interaction in comparison with the amount of fast electrons that are present in the plasma due to electric filed field.

Sběrová účinnost detektoru sekundárních elektronů v REM
Konvalina, Ivo ; Müllerová, Ilona
In order to collect the secondary electrons (SE), scanning electron microscopes (SEM) are equipped with the Everhart-Thornley (ET) type detector. The electrostatic field of the front grid, biased to a positive potential of several hundred volts , is to attract all SE of kinetic energy below 50 eV or at least those from the SE spectrum peak at 1(3 eV. However, the detection quantum efficiency (DQE) of such detectors has been found to be significantly lower than one, which is mainly given by their low collection efficiency. The electrostatic field of the grid cannot sufficiently penetrate toward the specimen and influence the trajectories of SE owing to grounded electrodes surrounding the specimen (specimen alone and its holder, specimen stage, pole piece of the objective lens, etc)

Performance Appraisal as a Human Resource Management Tool in the Field of Agriculture
Venclová, Kateřina ; Macák, Tomáš (advisor) ; Fejfarová, Martina (referee)
Purpose: The aim of this PhD dissertation is to design a performance appraisal system as a Human Resource Management (HRM) tool for selected professions in the field of agriculture in the Czech Republic. Further objectives of the dissertation are to identify the significance of HRM and performance appraisal in the field of agriculture within generational change. A subsequent objective is to create a theoretical performance appraisal system for selected professions as a tool of HRM. Further objectives are to determine the current state of formal performance appraisal and to identify the input criteria of an appropriate performance appraisal system for the field of agriculture. Research design/methodology/approach: The research for this dissertation has been developed on the basis of a mixed methods research design, involving a sequential strategy based on quantitative and qualitative research methods. Moreover a pragmatic philosophical approach has been adopted. The quantitative and qualitative elements of the strategy adopted include study of pertinent literature, an electronic questionnaire, personal interviewing, one--dimensional and multidimensional statistical methods. Findings: A performance appraisal system for selected professions as a tool of HRM in the field of agriculture in the Czech Republic has been designed, together with possible areas for future research. The survey conducted has shown over a period of 3 years that the majority of agricultural organizations do not utilise any performance appraisal system. However, this research demonstrated the significance of a performance appraisal system in the context of the selected HRM model within generational change in the field of agriculture. The research also explored the currently used performance appraisal methods, identified appraisers and appraisees, the purposes of performance appraisal in the field of agriculture, and performance appraisal connection to the reward system. Research limitations: The random sample of agricultural organizations was not necessarily representative of the industry as a whole, because the sample taken was a purposive sample. The length and structure of the questionnaire developed for this research was not sufficient to permit the detailed identification of performance appraisal methods used and the criteria applied in the field of agriculture. In order to compensate for this limitation, personal interviewing with a random sample of informants was conducted. Originality/value: No previous research focused on performance appraisal in the field of agriculture has been conducted in the Czech Republic. The research described in this dissertation presents the first detailed description and analysis of the currently used performance appraisal system for the field of agriculture in the Czech Republic. The Author recommends that the currently used performance appraisal system should be used to extend other performance appraisal methods focused in the areas of process and input to reach higher attitude of HRM. In addition, the author highlights the importance of performance appraisal outputs in the connection to the reward system. The specific performance appraisal system proposed here may be beneficial for good management during a period of generational change. Furthermore, it may support more effective human resource management in the field of agriculture. It is hoped that this PhD dissertation may provide the basic groundwork for further research in other HRM areas and performance management.
