Copmplex conception of health and sustainable developement
Krýslová, Simona ; Rynda, Ivan (advisor) ; Haškovcová, Helena (referee)
My diploma thesis deals with the topic of health and sustainable development. I am working with two topical Euro-American concepts, the socio-ecological model of health as promoted by the WHO (holistic concept of health) and the strategy of sustainable development as I acquainted myself with it during my studies at the School of Humanities of the Charles University. First of all, I analyse both concepts by means of expert sources. I emphasize their characteristic features, compare them and carry out a synthesis. On grounds of that I demonstrate three established hypotheses: 1. the holistic concept of health and the strategy of sustainable development with regard to their historical development are not only complementary but also mutually conditional concepts; 2. the holistic concept of health and the strategy of sustainable development have many common features; 3. the holistic concept of health is a natural and indispensable part of sustainable development. I began to be interested in interconnecting those topics in my diploma thesis in the moment I found out what both these interdisciplinary and systematic concepts have in common. At the same time, the interconnection was the most precarious part of my work. I did not expect to have any particular difficulties with separating individual features from...

Trends in the minimum wage and its impact on the amount of social security contributions for the period 2004-2014 in selected EU countries
Bížová, Barbora ; Krebs, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Barák, Vladimír (referee)
This thesis analyzes the impacts of raising the minimum wage to transfer payments for social insurance in the period 2004 - 2014. It compares development and changes in the rate of minimum wage in selected EU countries and examines the context of the events that preceded these changes. The conclusions of many theses show that minimum wage increases the employer's costs for employees, who subsequently seek different ways how to avoid these additional costs. This thesis did not confirm the hypothesis that an increase in the minimum wage significantly affects the rate of income from social insurance.

Blaheta, Radim ; Starý, Jiří ; Sysalová, Dagmar
Seminar on Numerical Analysis 2017 (SNA'17) is a continuation in a series of SNA events held in different places in the Czech Republic and organized alternatively by Ostrava and Prague institutions. TheSNA'17isorganizedbytheInstituteofGeonicsoftheCASincollaborationwith VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava and IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Centre. Conference location is one of the lecture rooms in New Aula of the VŠB-TU Ostrava. Let us note that SNA 2016 was reshaped to EMS School in Applied Mathematics (ESSAM) devoted to mathematical modelling, numerical analysis and scientific computing. The SNA'17 is turning back to more traditional winter event. It provides opportunity for meeting and mutual information of the community working in computational mathematics and computer science, but an important part of SNA is devoted to the Winter School with tutorial lectures focused on selected important topics within the scope of numerical methods and modelling.
