Inequal Temperaments in history and today´s Practisis
Scholleová, Barbora ; TŮMA, Jaroslav (advisor) ; ČERNÝ, Pavel (referee)
This thesis is devoted to the historical temperaments. For their understanding it is necessary to become familiar with the sizes of the natural intervals resulting of the aliquot series. One must be able to determine the frequency rate of any interval and its size in cents. It is outlined why there does not exist ideal tuning and therefore why any tuning is the compromise with different priorities and kinds of utilization. The path to today's widespread equal temperament was long, lots of various temperatures have been used throughout the history. The most important types are listed and described. Currently, in connection with the pursuit of historically informed interpretation historical temperaments are used again. Old music sounds more trustworthy and sometimes, use of historical temperament can help the player to clearer perception of the content of music.

News sources and thier journalists. The issue of diversity resources in the context of the sociology of news
Křížová, Vendula ; Trampota, Tomáš (advisor) ; Trunečková, Ludmila (referee)
The thesis "News sources and their journalists : the issue of diversity resources in the context of the sociology of news" summarizes the current knowledge and understanding of sociology of news and sources and adds a bio-anthropological look at the strength and stability of relationships between the sources and journalists. These concepts will be then applied in quantitative research affecting the characteristics of sources cited in three selected Czech daily (Hospodářské noviny, Mladá fronta DNES and Právo). The survey of similar scope has not yet been generated in the Czech Republic. Research results follow the theoretical concepts and empirical researches and agree with them that the journalists in their daily routine work regularly turn to the "elite group of resources" for quotations. These sources are also quoted more often than other sources. However, there are so many people in the group of information resources spread around the editorial offices of newspapers that it is almost impossible to talk about lack of diversity of sources. Research also confirmed that different types of media dont differ at all from each other in the basic parameters and are turning to the same types of resources regularly and with the same frequency.

Electronically tunable frequency filters
Štěpán, Radim ; Jeřábek, Jan (referee) ; Herencsár, Norbert (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with a proposal of electronically controllable filters by means of modern active elemental parts such as current conveyors, transconduct amplifiers or programmable current amplifiers. The suggestion of new connection of frequency filters uses graphic chart of active and passive elements. In the introduction there is described the survey of signal flow graphs, modern active elements suitable for proposal frequency elements. The procedure of proposal of controllable frequency filter based on set typical formula of designed circuit is demonstrated as an example. On a basis of different modifications the designed circuit is made with various types of active elements. Simulation results of the program PCspice confirmed the proper working of the proposal circuits.

Analysis of the Frequency of Connections in Czech Rail Transport
Ambrož, Jiří ; Hudeček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Kupková, Lucie (referee)
Analysis of the frequency of connections in Czech railway transport Abstract This paper deals with cartographic representation of frequency of connections in maps and with analysis in suitable level using software ArcGIS 9.3. Theoretical part is aimed at train categories and use of GIS mainly in analysis of traffic accessibility. Next there is a description of used methods which are isoline and cartodiagram. The main part of the paper discribes a creation of relevant data layers and methodology of data capture. Here is also evaluation of the results and suitability of used methods. The frequency of connections is devided into two types. Their differences are discussed in final section where is also warning about several complications that occurred during the work. The main output are two maps for the Czech Republic and one for Středočeský district. Keywords: frequency of connections, accessibility, cartographical methods, railway transport

Principles of ovarian stimulation and oocyte collection in mouse and human.
Klinovská, Karolína ; Svoboda, Petr (referee) ; Hortová, Kateřina (advisor)
This thesis deals with methods of controlled ovarian stimulation and oocyte retrieval on physiological basis. Mouse has been major model organism for wide range of key researches and being able to stimulate its ovarian functions correctly is necessary. That is why mouse stimulation is main topic of this thesis. It summarizes available data and stimulation protocols in relation to factors which can affect the result as a condition, strain, quality of hormones used in administration and others. Potential affections on oocyte and embryo quality are mention according to specific types of administration protocols. Human infertility is slowly becoming common and one of the techniques used to treat it in assisted reproduction is also ovarian stimulation. In the end of this thesis is a chapter dealing with this commonly used method. It is focused on stimulation for oocyte retrieval, as well as on stimulation of recipient mother in embryotransfer. Differences based on hormones, success in In vitro fertilization programme (IVF) and application frequency are mentioned.

Multifractal nature of financial markets and its relationship to market efficiency
Jeřábek, Jakub ; Vošvrda, Miloslav (advisor) ; Krištoufek, Ladislav (referee)
The thesis shows the relationship between the persistence in the financial markets returns and their efficiency. It interprets the efficient markets hypothesis and provides various time series models for the analysis of financial markets. The concept of long memory is broadly presented and two main types of methods to estimate long memory are analysed - time domain and frequency domain methods. A Monte Carlo study is used to compare the methods and selected estimators are then used on real world data - exchange rate and stock market series. There is no evidence of long memory in the returns but the stock market volatilities show clear signs of persistence.
