Semotánová, Adéla ; Hájek, Martin (advisor) ; Řezáčová, Vendula (referee)
The subject of the thesis is meanings of the physical exercising presented in the Czech women magazines, which I explored through qualitative content analysis of the articles focused on exercising. Three relevant frames or research areas emerged from foreign literature, which became the frames of the analysis: value of the exercise related to the body, the exercise as possible social field and gender level of these practices. I was specifically interested, if the exercise is presented as activity that helps to create socially disciplined body or individually restituted body for personal needs. Or if the exercise creates specific social field - sphere with specific relationship, rules and capital and if the gender is an important factor, connected to the presentation of the exercises in magazines, focused on women. The results show that the exercise is activity that creates the restituted body so as the disciplined body. It is not possible to define, if it is specific social field. The articles content so positive indications as those, which do not comply with the social field definition. Ideal femininity and ideal woman body should be reached by exercising. This ideal woman identity varies from reader's identity, which magazines define as "common" woman. The gender is an important factor that has...

Schneiderová, Klára ; Makariusová, Radana (advisor) ; Drulák, Petr (referee)
MA thesis project Klára Schneiderová PREDICATE ANALYSIS AND ANALYSIS OF METAPHORS USED IN MESSAGES ATTRIBUTED TO OSAMA BIN LADEN REGARDING THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICAAND THEIR EUROPEAN ALLIES FOLLOWING THE 2003 INVASION OF IRAQ INTRODUCTION - War on terror = war on Islam? (analysis of fundamentalist logic and stream of thought) For this Master thesis project, I chose to analyze the terrorist discourse of Osama bin Laden, the leader of the global Jihadist network, al-Qaeda, particularly his messages regarding the United States of America and its European allies following the 2003 invasion of Iraq, as they were gathered in various relevant sources of record up to the near present.1 I chose this topic due to my long-term interest in the Middle East, particularly the relationship and links between religious ideology and politics in the region. The methodology chosen for this work is closely related to media image analysis which I became familiar with during my previous studies and which I applied in my Bachelor's thesis. In the world today, I believe it has become increasingly important to reflect, observe and closely examine the roots and foundations of fundamentalist argumentation and logic, which in this case serve as the key motors of the global Jihadist movement. Following the 9-11-01 terrorist attacks...

Quality of life in chronic illness and long-term adverse health condition. Gender-based differences.
FILIPOVÁ, Zuzana
This bachelor?s thesis is concerned with mapping the differences of both men and women in the quality of life. These are individuals who suffer from any disease of the indication group VII of spa treatment. Specifically it deals with musculoskeletal diseases. It figures out what differences in quality of life which are described in 8 domains using standardized questionnaire SF 36 are for both gender before and after spa treatment. The theoretical part of this thesis focuses on the analysis of the term ?quality of life?. It specifies it and clarifies its use in a comprehensive rehabilitation and other science disciplines. Hereafter it devotes to the definition of health where attaches indispensable functionality to the measuring of quality of life. Because the quality of life is not just an empty phrase, but an instrument that can comprehensively map the subjective problems in health status of the person. The above part also discusses the instruments by which the quality of the life is measured and so the standardized questionnaire SF 36 which is a necessary instrument for the work needs. The aim of the thesis is to find out what are the differences between the quality of life for both men and women disposed of a disease from the group VII spa treatment and specify them. A hypothesis is connected with this aim: The quality of life of women with chronic diseases classified in the indication group VII is worse than men with the same disease. The research part further explains the applied tools for gaining the data. It closely describes used methodology of data collection including number of respondents and percentage of return. Specifically, the research was conducted with 12 men and 13 women. These probands completed the standardized questionnaire SF 36

Employee's perspective of adolescents and adult people with mental handicapped
Mlnaříková, Jana ; Mužáková, Monika (referee) ; Šiška, Jan (advisor)
In my thesis I deal with problems of employment for people with intellectual disabilities at a free labour market. This issue I discuss with a connection at a transition of students from practical schools to an employment, which isn't yet well sophisticated in my opinion, but very important for chances of assertion. Because in the Czech Republic an employment agenda deals with people with a health disability generally, I define the issue accordind to a new law number 435/2004. Also I deal with organisations which help via a service of supported employment not only to people with intellectual disabilities, but also to their employers. The next part of my thesis maps the particular work chances, which are offered to people with intellectual disabilities from the service of supported employment and which the people practise. And also i find out a public opinion about employing of people with intellectual disabilities. Advantages even disadventages I find out via a mixed qualitative even quantitative research method. The aim of my diploma thesis is an assessment of a situation and a perspective of young people with with intellectual disabilities at free labour market, which opens then through the supported employment service and represents a chance of quality social assertion.

- Alternative Collective Dispute Resolution (mediation and arbitration) The goal of my thesis is to describe and analyze the methods of resolution of collective disputes arising between the partners of a social dialog in execution of collective agreements and in the fulfillment of the respective obligations. Acting Czech legislation regulates the proceedings before a mediator and an arbitration procedure. The very fact that such topic complies the two areas of law in which I am interested was on of the main motives for my selection of this topic as my diploma thesis. My thesis is composed of six chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects of topic mentioned above. Introductory chapter one, which puts the reader into the problematic questions and defines basic terminology used in thesis is followed by Chapter Two dealing with general conception of collective Labor law and its classification in Labor law system. This chapter also contains examination of relevant Czech legislation. Aim of Chapter Three is to describe the terminology of Collective Labor-law relationships, their parties and subject. Chapter is subdivided into three parts. Part One looks at trade unions, Part Two describes tasks of employer in Collective relationship. Part Three illustrates subject of this relationships....

The influence of social capital on the social system - the Swedish model
Stavjaňa, Aleš ; Ryvolová, Ivana (advisor) ; Stočková, Olga (referee)
The bachelor thesis tries to show how human interaction can reflect in the way the government works. It maps the development of the Swedish state which, thanks to its homogenous populatioén, is a quite good example of how culture can influence the way that state behaves to its citizens. It focuses on the period of the second half of the twentieth century. The thesis tries to find the reason for the setting of the public sector, which offers the social benefits. By the collocation social system is meant the service the citizens get abd it is thought rather in the meaning of system of a society. Thus the thesis tries to enllighten the reason for choosing the rate of citizen - govenrment cooperation among nations and among cultures

Financial and business cycles in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe emerging markets
Kučerová, Martina ; Geršl, Adam (advisor) ; Žigraiová, Diana (referee)
This thesis analyzes development of financial and business cycles in CESEE region using the sample of 23 emerging economies over the period 1995q1- 2015q4. We report three main results. First, we identify more cases of financial cycles than business cycles. Financial cycles measured by house price ratio tend to last longer in comparison to credit cycles. Second, cross-correlation results detect high synchronization of business and financial cycles among economies. The concordance index indicate that business cycles and financial cycles are rather counter-cyclical as the index values are low in the most economies from our sample. Third, regression findings reveal that the indicators of economic activity are important in affecting the downturn duration of financial cycles. For the upturn phase are more relevant the financial development measures. Graphemics in the German documents of Václav IV 1379-1399
Bartůňková, Alena ; Ebelová, Ivana (referee) ; Vodrážková, Lenka (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is twofold. On the one hand I try to determine a system in the use of the graphemes in the documents of Vac1av IV. from the years 1379-1399 and I confront the findings with the use of the graphemes in the Middle Upper German (Mittelhochdeutsch). On the other hand, I compare these results with the use ofthe graphemes in the early Upper German (Frühneuhochdeutsch) as described in the literature, in particular in 1. T. Piirainen, V. Moser, H.Bokova, L.E. Schmitt and V.E. Mourek. The first chapter describes the period of reign of Vac1av IV as weIl as the personality ofthe ruler. The second chapter deals with the court ofVac1av IV. with a particular emphasis on the language situation at the court. Further, Vac1av IV.'s chancellery is characterized in the chapter three as apart of the court and I also shortly describe its history, structure as weIl as the competence of its members. Chapter five is devoted to documents as objects of a study; thus, first I define and c1assify different types of docurnents and second, I indicate the relevant features both in the form of the document and its content. The next chapter describes the status of the early Upper German (Fruhneuhochdeutsch) as it emerges from the literature. The seventh chapter lists the documents of Vac1av IV. between the years 13...

Reconstruction and model of postglacial spread of subgenus Alnus in Europe
Jelenová, Hana ; Barták, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Mandák, Bohumil (referee)
Many paradoxes exist about postglacial tree migration and they dont solve for many European trees. One example is wetland trees subgenus Alnus, which spread across Europe during the last glacial very quickly according to fossil records. The aim of this thesis is detection their migration potential, with the help of empirical evaluation of interpolated pollen data (interpolation method IDW) and a simulation model based on environmental characteristics of the species. The results of interpolated maps are similar to the rate previously estimated speed and the results of simulation model achieve these speeds only by A. incana but with specific extreme environmental conditions. The mason of this may be adapting its seeds to anemochorii because the simulation model confirmed their good potential to spread by the wind. Results of model for A. glutinosa don´t confirm the ability to rapidly spread by the wind and the observed rate must have another explanation. Maybe rivers can explain the empirical spread rate. This suggests visualization of migration lines and river networks. The model has also been disclosure of environmental properties that are related to migration potential. Within the parameterization of the model is demonstrated, that R0 of A. glutinosa is significantly better than A. incana. But main parameters of anemochory model are terminal velocity and generation time, which is shorter by the A. incana, and therefore is probably able to spread faster than A. glutinosa.
