Kareninová, Anna ; Pohorský, Aleš (advisor) ; Pelán, Jiří (referee) ; Jamek, Václav (referee)
Céline in Bohemia The thesis presents a chronological documentary testimony about the process of acceptance and rejection of one of the most controversial figures of modern literature - not only in Bohemia. The corpus consisting of correspondence discovered, contemporary responses, photos and other documents, built on the base of Céline's life and work, follows the reception of all his writings since the debut to the present. The thesis observes the historical and biographical circumstances in which originated Céline's work and that marked Céline's personal story. Buršíková, Marika ; Robbins, David Lee (referee) ; Roraback, Erik Sherman (advisor)
While the first two chapters of the thesis provide the necessary theoretical framework concerning the classical detective story and the metaphysical detective story, in the third chapter this framework is employed to analyze the particular themes that are present in The New York Trilogy and The Crying of Lot 49. To explain the metaphysical detective story, a step back to the classical detective story as its predecessor is required. To sum up the oppositions expressed in criticism dealing with this subject, the contrast between these two genres has been defined in terms of high art and popular art (Todorov), art and kitsch (Holquist), ontological dominant and epistemological dominant (McHale), postmodern and positivistic mode of thinking (Spanos). The metaphysical detective story takes the conventions of the classical detective story and distorts them in order to betray the reader's expectations. Since the popular genres are constituted by their corresponding sets of conventions which need to be familiar, any change in them causes the work to lose its status as part of the genre. In this case, the classical detective story has served as a point of departure for many authors who transformed it into a completely different genre which had no longer anything to do with popular literature. Classical detective...

Rigorosal Thesis 2006, Hana Krejčová Abstract The theoretical section gives a brief overview of anatomy, physiology and function of the skin, transdermal formulations and options for increasing transdermal absorption of drugs. The main part of the chapter is focused on cyclosporine includes updated information published on knowledge of the human immune system, and immunosuppressants. Experimental work presents the results of in vitro permeation experiments on pig skin. Donor and acceptor phase was in most experiments consisting propylene glycol and Tris-buffer pH 7.1 at a 1:1 ratio. Only a few experiments have been used as the donor phase of 10% dispersion of CyA in isopropylmyristate. Permeant determination was performed by HPLC with UV detection at 220nm. As a donor samples were used in the supersaturated system without CyA Enhancer, then a 5% addition of DMI or arlasolve, pyrrolidone or transcutol, or 1% transkarbam 12. All enhancers in the used concentrations icreased a depot formation in the skin, transkarbam 12 in the lowest concentration. For transdermal in vitro permeation experiments CyA appears to be administered in more lipophilic donor phase. The ideal length of the permeation experiments, it appears time 15 hours.
