Occupational safety and health
Justová, Gabriela ; Kopecký, Martin (referee) ; Kocianová, Renata (advisor)
Occupational safety and health represents a set of measures aimed at reducing, or totally eliminating, the risks endangering lives and health of workers. It is influenced by a character of work and also by working conditions. Lately, emphasis in this field is not only on accident prevention, but also on creating satisfying working conditions. Good working conditions contribute to keeping high productivity and pleasant atmosphere at work, to an increase of quality of life and to social and legal protection of employees. In my thesis I pursue not only work safety and health protection as one sphere of care for workers, its historical development in the Czech Republic and primary legal provisions, but also working conditions and work environment. In connection with these factors I use, as an example, work schedule of flight crews, and a level of cosmic radiation to which the flight attendants are exposed. In a separate chapter I describe contribution of ergonomics to work safety and health protection at work, specifically, and to improvement of human activities generally. In this chapter I describe ergonomic problems connected exclusively with occupation of flight attendant. In another chapter I define concept of "work accident" and duties of an employer when an accident at work happens. To prevent work...

Pro-Women-Oriented NGO's in the Czech Republic. The Beginning and Present Reality - Case Study of Three NGO's
Bosáková, Jana ; Turková, Miloslava (advisor) ; Muhič Dizdarevič, Selma (referee)
In my thesis I focus on the mapping of the aims of selected pro-women-oriented NGO's in the time of their establishment and today, characteristics of potential changes of the aims and their possible impact on the original mission of the organisations/movement. In the introductory part I concentrate on the historical context of civic activities in the Czech society with the emphasis on women activities from the beginning of emancipation efforts in 19th century till 1990. I pay special attention to the context of establishment and development of the first women NGO's from the period of transformation after 1989 till the present time. In the analytical part I evaluate the development of the aims of NGO's - YWCA v ČR, Kluby křesťanských žen and Síť MC , which were founded/re-established in 1990 and are still in existence. Based on the analysis of documents and interviews I describe the development of their aims in the context of societal conditions affecting them since their establishment. In the conclusion I present the characteristics of the changes of the aims and their impact on the mission of organisations as illustration of development trends of the society relating to the demand for their services. The evaluation of their present state provides reflection of their "survival strategy", which reveals key...

Finanční plánování v podniku
Voráček, Lukáš ; Hnilica, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this study is to certify the legitimacy of employing quantitative methods in the day-to-day business practice. The task is approached as a case study of a real-life financial planning process. I work with the financial data of POS Media Czech Republic (a media company providing point-of-sale advertising solutions). My intention is to simulate the projection of a pro forma income statement with the use of quantitative methods. More specifically, I am applying time series prediction techniques in order to forecast POS Media's sales. The goal is, first, to demonstrate that quantitative techniques can be handled even with limited statistical background and, second, to discuss the relevancy of the obtained results. In the methodical part of my thesis I deal with the theoretical aspects of financial planning. I further describe various methods of sales forecasting (qualitative vs. quantitative). Special emphasis is put on time series prediction methods. In the application part I provide a short description of POS Media and its business. I use time series decomposition techniques to predict POS Media's sales in 2012. Consequently, I outline the rest of the pro forma income statement.

Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story - the novel and its adaptation
Jestřábová, Iva ; Hilský, Martin (advisor) ; Nováková, Soňa (referee)
My thesis is focused on Laurence Sterne's novel The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman and its first ever film adaptation Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story directed by Michael Winterbottom. I concentrate primarily on the specificities of literary and cinematic language and the way the film transforms literary methods into cinematic ones. In the first part I outline the director's previous work with special emphasis on adaptation and summarize some of the theoretical aspects of adaptation in general. I then concentrate on specific aspects of the novel, such as its genre, structure and characters, and analyze the methods by which they were used and transformed in the film. I also pose the question if the modernist and postmodern aspects of the novel are also applicable to its adaptation. In the last part of my thesis I analyze some of the central themes of the novel and the film, such as humour, sexuality or sentiment. The aim of my work was primarily to find out if the adaptation of this notoriously 'unfilmable' novel was successful and what methods it uses to tackle the original text. The most important passages of the thesis, therefore, are those which uncover the adaptational processes and their application in the film. During the course of the work, many parallels between the novel and...

The thesis is divided into three parts: introduction, theoretical and practical part. First part introduces organization and its organizational structure I focus on. In the theoretical part I describe an approach to creation and optimization of organizational structure with emphasis on business processes. In practical part I analyze development and current state of organizational structure. Based on this analysis I propose an optimization of organizational structure.

Breathing when playing the brass instruments
Žáková, Petra ; SUŠICKÝ, Jiří (advisor) ; MALIMÁNEK, Karel (referee)
In my diploma thesis I deal with breathing when playing the brass instruments. In the first chapter called Process of Breathing I describe the respiratory system, its breathing mechanism and a separate breathing process with the main emphasis on the types of breathing, control of breathing and a lung capacity. Subsequently I occupy with the breathing process when playing, it means with breathing in cooperation with creation of tones, embouchure, activity of tongue and with the finger technique. In the second chapter I mention some important brass players and teachers of the breathing in brass instrumental music; the view of the East Cultures on ordinary breathing is also supplemented to this overview. In the third chapter I quote some methods of breathing development. Firstly I focus on the evolution and usage of various types of breathing, secondly on the methods of breathing development. This chapter includes many breathing exercises done with or without an instrument, which should lead to liberty and speed of inhalation and smoothness and holding of exhalation. The exercises help to the complete fastening of the muscles of respiration.

I observed a connection between intervention focused on decomposition of home violence phenomenon and its results. The objective was to find out how the home violence in families influenced children and which were the optimal work methods which would eliminate the negative...

Two-photon decay of the Higgs boson: precise predictions of the standard model
Procházka, Tomáš ; Hořejší, Jiří (advisor) ; Novotný, Jiří (referee)
In the present work we are studying the Higgs boson decay into two photons with an emphasis on the use of various techniques used for the Feynman diagram calculations. In the rst part we thoroughly evaluate the contribution of top quark and W-boson loop in various way. Then we consider the QCD corrections to quark masses and electromagnetic interaction. In next chapters we evaluate the QCD corrections to the top quark loop in detail - rstly by the expansion in a small Higgs mass and then exactly using the integration-by-parts identities and dierential equations. Finally we make an overview of other results found in the literature.
