System for Distributed Computing

This thesis is about solving problems using systems for distributed computing. In the beginning, it provides the reader brief introduction to the area of systems for distributed computing and introduces some of the existing systems. Further there is a proposal of a new distributed computing system. Design of this system is described thoroughly including the processes, network connections and messages which are used for communication between the processes. The system is then compared to existing implementations. Advantages and disadvantages are discussed. At the end there are some ideas how the system can be improved in the future.

E-learning exploitation aiming at commercial correspondence tuition

This diploma thesis disserts upon the topic of e-learning and the possibility of its exploitation when teaching the subject "Business Correspondence." Its aim is to introduce the project of an e-book which I am preparing for my students and to show that under current socio-political conditions such an idea can be implemented absolutely as a free act, altogether independently of the state of legislation or educational system alone and without the need to expend substantial financial investments. The whole text consists of two parts. The theoretic part covers in its introduction an analysis of the background of the origin and development of information society including its reflection in pedagogy. Further, it analyses the concept of information and communication technologies which are subsequently placed in context with pedagogical environment and human learning. This part offers the view of e-learning and defines it for the purpose of this thesis. The second part deals with exploitation of theoretical findings in practice when creating an electronic learning text. It explains reasons why the idea of the project originated, defines it in terms of established concepts and specifies its technical as well as personnel requirements. A dream shared: community and politics in selected 19th and 20th century American utopias

The tendency to dream of a better tomorrow, a better society and a better world had existed long before utopian writing was defined by Sir. Thomas More in 1516. Utopian ideas are present all throughout history, from Greek and Roman literature, myths and mythology, various festivals or the "Cokaygne" utopias to religious paradise, the belief in infinite progress, utopian science fiction and finally the modern western utopia. This thesis will focus on four selected American literary utopias: Edward Bellamy's Looking Backward: 2000-1887, Jack London's Iron Heel, Ernest Callenbach's Ecotopia and Marge Piercy's Woman on the Edge of Time. It seeks to analyze the social notions inherent in the four ideal utopian societies portrayed in these novels, the suggested process of social and historical change leading up to them and to note the development of selected social issues in the nineteenth and the twentieth century through the discussion of these works. The introduction will begin with a brief discussion of the background of utopian writing, include arguments for perceiving the institution of an artist as a cultural force, as well as include the historical and cultural background necessary for the discussion of the novels. Hospice care to improve the quality of life of the dying

This diploma thesis is mostly theoretical. It is focused on helping people at the end of their lives and on helping their relatives. It offers a complete view of hospice care in the Czech Republic. It deals with its development, analysis of provided care and its status in the system of care about clients. In detail it is focused on specific needs of dying clients and the methods of work, which fulfill these needs in terms of hospice care. Main idea of this work is oriented to individual social pedagogical methods which are used during accompanying dying patients. The aim of this thesis is to show the way how to help them to pass away with dignity and without suffering.

Quality of the life in patients with chronic renal failure treated by haemodialysis during exercise intervention period

Title: Quality of the life in patients with chronic renal failure treated by haemodialysis during exercise intervention period. Introduction: Quality of life has become very discussed idea also in medicine in last ten years. The life of man is prolonged owing to the modern medicine. It does not go on to live at longest, but the most quality too. WHO advances a definition: "quality of life presents an individual relation of man to his own life goals, expectation value systems and interests in cultural, social and environmental context". In spite of it does not exist a definition, which is accepted in general. In present the study of quality of life presents the searching and identification of factors which add a good and meaningful life, the sense of a human happiness and a research of their mutual relations. Aim: To evaluate six months period of a regular exercise program on quality of patient's life with chronic renal failure. Methods: We studied a composite group of hemodialysis patients from three dialysis centres in Prague, Karlovy Vary and Pardubice. There were measured 46 patients in a mean age 64,3 ± 13,9 years. Procedural time-limits in Roman law

- 105 - Summary Procedural Periods in Roman Law Submitted thesis is focused on chosen questions of procedural periods in Roman law. It is too focused on chosen institutes of roman procedural law. Firstly the thesis dissertates about general information and about and progress of roman procedura law. The relation of roman procedural law to singular procedurals periods was emphasized in the introduction. The crucial part of this opening leans in analysis of singular judicial magistrates. Further the contexture for individual procedural parties was mentioned. The main part of thesis describes separates procedura periods in detail. It makes through particular roman-law institutinos which are alone influenced by procedural periods. The single chapter disserts on prescription of rights, preclusion and temporal character of some actions. These law institutions are very important. It is also crucial in contemporary law. This chapter follows on discourse about executory periods. The final part of thesis is created by question of time and its computation, especially in law and in standing roman life. Raimon Panikkar and interculture. Theological basis and philosophical environment of one ontology of relation

Raimon Panikkar (* 1918) is one of most famous thinkers current intercultural dialogue. Family background his father was an Indian Hindu and his mother a Spanish Catholic destined the direction Panikkar's intellectual activity. After studying chemistry, philosophy (Barcelona, Bonn, Madrid) and, consequently, theology (Madrid and Rome), he worked in India, where he became one of protagonists of dialogue with the Christian Orient thinking, in particular the Indian culture. In his efforts he continued, as professor at prestigious American universities. Labor initially pursuing theological and philosophical background Panikkar's thinking. Panikkar gradually develops in his works the idea of need for complementarity between East and West. He began by comparing the basic religious and phílosophical concepts using functional analogies (comparing the perception of reality, of God, of metaphysical's concepts such as transcendence, immanence, etc.). Very quickly switched to an existential plane, which culminated in the conviction of relativity of the all reality and the provisions of the relation as constitutive element of being. This work studies modern city and its different forms as they developed in the frame of modernity. It Compare views of "classical" modernists (Le Corbusier) and American vision of modern city (skyscrapers) as it was defined by Rem Koolhaas. Particular example for showing all ideas in focus is New York. Work also tries to make an introduction to the ideas of Nederland architect and thinker Rem Koolhaas.

The theory of human democracy

Theory of human democracy The purpose of thesis is to analyse the question of human democracy and to find conclusion if this concept is eligible for society here and now. Author uses analytical, synthetical and historical methods in order to catch the goal of the paper. This research is dealed into universal part and specific part as a logical process. First author finds the problems and after that offer solutions. In concrete how to make from partial democracy, i. e. formal democracy, after accentuation her deficiencies process of changes to full, material democracy. The thesis is composed of seven chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects of topic. Chapter One is introductory and defines basic terminology used in the thesis. The chapter two is subdivided into two parts, where author describes genesis and short historical introduction of democracy and humanity. In Chapter Three the most important ideas of human democracy are mentioned, for example idea of humanity, freedom, equality and fraternity. Performance management

The corporate performance management (CPM) is a frequently discussed concept. Companies are looking for a solution, which could help them satisfy more customers, reach lower costs and therefore increase own financial results. An implementation of the CPM system is one of the approaches to support corporate priorities by supporting its decision making. The CPM offers alignment of enterprise objects with its processes and answers the questions "How are we doing? Why? What should we be doing?" This work is divided into three parts. First part provides an introduction into performance management, levers up the merits and reveals its cornerstones and offers historic insight. The second part analyses current market situation of CPM products. The final third part summaries trends and predicts future development based on discovered dependencies.
