Measuring performance of financial institutions

The bachelor's thesis is focused on term performance and possibilities of its specification in banking. Terms profitability and efficiency are differed and described as well as possible mothods of their valuation. Basic concepts and indicators of profitability and efficiency are mentioned more closely and ilustrated on concrete values. These methods are judged in terms of simplicity of practical use, predictability and possibilities of interbank comparsion.

One of the outputs of the thesis is also confrontation of a detailed analysis of the facts with a point of view of the client.
Mobile Banking in the Czech Republic and in the World and its Development

This bachelor thesis tries to provide the compact and actual insight to the issue of mobile banking. A reader is acquainted with current offered services which are consequently analysed. The conclusion of this thesis will be treatise on an estimation of the future evolution. The thesis consists of five sections. The first part specifies the issue of the mobile banking and makes the reader acquainted with the history of this banking service. This part is followed by listing a general characteristics which are divided into two groups - positives and negatives. The reader is further acquainted with the functionality and its structure in the next chapter. The third part than analyses a particular forms of mobile banking which are subsequently followed by the issue of security and possible threats. The last part deals with the analysis of the current offered services with the evaluation.
Legal form of checkable deposit and time deposit

The thesis deals with legal form of checkable deposit and time deposit in the Czech Republic. The study primarily describes formation, alteration and discharge of contractual relationship, which is formated between the bank and the bank customer in terms of contract of checkable deposit or contract of time deposit. The thesis primarily deals with the position of retail bank customer, which is not a business entity. From the standpoint of theory, the text focuses on mutual rights and obligations of both contractors. The analytical part compares the offer of checkable deposits for students in two Czech banks (Komerční banka and Česká spořitelna) with a view to legal terms.
Bank charges related to the current account

The subject of the bachelor work is to compare the bank charges at the chosen financial institutions, particularly Société Générale S.A and the subsidiary institution of Komercni Bank a.s. First is a part describing the significant changes that have arisen from the new Payment System Law. This is followed by the brief characteristics of the bank institutions. The principal part is devoted to the analyses of the bank charges to set and to maintenance a current account. These charges are not a part of any special bank package. The evaluation of the final group of the products and the services is at the conclusion of this work.

The Diploma Thesis deals with an evaluation of financial institutions, specifically with the banks, in the time of financial crisis. The evaluation of the selected bank (CSOB,a.s.) in non-consolidated form is carried out in the practical part with use of the discounted cash flow method, market analysis approach(comparable entities) and bond-pricing method.

Bank financial risks - credit risk

This is analysis of credit risks of bank i.e. risks between bank, as a creditor and it's debtor. Credit risk means uncertainty that the debtor will pay to the bank agreed installment and interest in time. In relationship between bank and debtor there is a lot of risks named in this study. The most dangerous risk is credit risk. The banks take some measures to prevent them: monitoring of the bonity of a client, credit procedure, reinsurance of a debt, managing of risk, capital adequacy, registry, rating etc. Credit risk of bank can cause financial losses but also bank crises with impact on global economy. Architecture of banking data warehouse

The thesis deals with banking data warehouse and the factors which influence their architecture. The goal of the thesis is to analyze the influence by fulfilling the three partial goals -- defining banks' requirements on data warehouses, analyzing a data warehouse in the real banking environment and making a comparison of the Czech banks' data warehouses. First, the thesis briefly introduces elements of business intelligence (BI) and data warehousing. Second, after deducing reasons for BI implementation in commercial banks, the requirements on data warehouse are synthesized and their impacts on the data warehouse architecture are analyzed. Finally, conclusions of the thesis are applied on creation of the survey which enables comparison of the Czech banks' data warehouses. The thesis applies the theory of relationship between BI maturity, requirements on BI and data warehouse architecture and creates a tool for evaluating and comparing the data warehouses of banks with respect to bank's BI maturity and predisposition for a particular architecture. The tool can serve as a basis for a general tool able to compare data warehouses in other branches of economy and can help to better understand relations between organizations' need for information, BI solutions used and underlying data warehouses.
