Contemporary reflection on the relationship of social stratification and consumption

This bachelor thesis summarizes theories that deal with the relationship between social stratification and cultural consumption. In the first chapter, basic theories of social stratification are briefly summarized. Then the author introduces Pierre Bourdieu's distinction theory and his follower's and critic's contributions. The second part of the work deal with the contemporary theories of social stratification and cultural consumption relationship, focusing especially on the cultural omnivores concept. However, two other basic concepts of the relationship - the homology concept and the concept of individualism - are presented as well in this part.

The bachelor thesis deals with social surroundings effects to a young individual. The conclusion work is divided for two parts; theoretical one and practical one. The theoretical goal is resume of researched issues and defining of the terms according to the expert source: surroundings and the influence to the young individual, family surroundings, school surroundings, intercultural differences and interpersonal relationships, life style and free time. Theoretical part deals with general characteristic which lean against on better understanding and mapping out surroundings effects, influence of surrounding factors to the individual during his life. Methods of the theoretical part are studying and using all of the available literature source, their comparison, analysis and synthesis. The goal of the practical part is ensuring of attitudes, values, problems, the self-life assessment and perspectives, types of the pupil's free time enjoying on the choosing high school. Method of the practical part is a questionnaire investigation. The questionnaire was sending to pupils of the choosing high schools in South-Moravian region. Detected data are evaluated by simple statistic methods shown with the graphs and tables. Detected data will help to recommendation for pedagogic practice, discuse and for final conclusion.
The Influence of Volunteering on an Individual's Social Status

The bachelor's thesis entitled "The impact of volunteering to the social status of an individual" is about volunteering in relation to the social status of the individual, which engages in volunteering. The first half of the work represents a theoretical background, in which is explained the issue of social stratification, social status and volunteering. The second half of this work is devoted to the questionnaire survey. The aim of this survey is to find out how the participation in volunteer activities affects the social status of the individual. Specifically, this survey is focused on the views of secondary school students in town Jindřichův Hradec, which never engaged in volunteering.
Relationship between reading books, social group and social class

This Bachelor's Thesis deals with theory of social stratification and its usability for needs of marketing in realationship with book market. Two parts of marketing theory such as target marketing and market segmentation are described. The object of practical part is to create analysis and description of book market which includes enough informations for using as relevant document for making desicion of entering the book market or for using as basic informations for marketing needs. Free acces published empirical researchs were use for reaching the objective. Combination and analysis of data led to required results. The conclusion of this thesis is document that can be usefull for making decision of entering the book market or for choosing marketing startegy.
Intergenerational transmission of social status

My diploma thesis is based on data from Survey on income and living conditions 2011 from ad hoc module on intergenerational disadvantages. The study investigates the transmission of social status from one generation to another. The diploma thesis includes descriptive statistics and data analysis. The main goal is to determine the dependency of socio-economic variables on social status transmission. To examine the strength of transmission of social status (education and occupation) logistic regression was used. In the analysis are respondents in the age 30 -- 60 years old, who lived at least with one of their parents. Due to a large number of respondents dataset enables detailed separation to groups by age groups, education level etc. followed by differences comparison between defined groups. Using the wage mechanism data are representative for population structure of Czech Republic.

This bachelor's work is dedicated to the dilemma of social stratification in the town of Louny according to the model of stratification. The theoretical part of this bachelor's work outlines the dilemmas such as social inequality, social stratification, models of social stratification and kriteria of social stratification. The practical part of the bachelor's work contains foremost the results and the interpretation of my research and the placement of te people of Louny into different social layers.

This bachelor thesis deals with lifestyle research of the population of the Czech Republic and ABCDE classifications used in the Czech market, as possible indicators for society segmentation in marketing. The first theoretical part defines the essential concepts of sociology and marketing. The second practical part analyzes specific data of leisure time activities, household facilities and ABCDE classification. The third part, the conclusion is the linking of theoretical knowledge as well as practical and assessment of the impact and utility of this knowledge in the marketing area.

The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to specify the socio-economic status of the clients of the travel agency PET-TOUR s.r.o. and determine if the status has effect on the choice of tour's character. The primary monitored variables of the clients of the chosen travel agency are the gender, the age, the place of living, the education and the income. The theoretical bases with the practical research of this thesis form the basis for suggestion and innovation in the travel agency's offer.

This work is dedicated to the issue of population and its organization in the Praha-Petrovice district, and is divided into two parts. The theoretical part includes a definition of the social stratification and its basic terms; explanation of the classic stratification model and current stratification models; description of stratification criteria and characteristics of measuring social stratification. The object of the practical part contains a provision of the basic demographic information about the chosen collectivity; description of the methods selected for processing of the practical part and the process of data collecting. The main output is an analysis and presentation of results gained through research and creation of stratification models for the chosen collectivity.
The application of social stratification in marketing

The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to determine information, which can be applicated for Market Segmentation, using social stratification as a segmentation criterion. Theoretical part describes social stratification, life style and market segmentation. Practical part uses statistical data and data from projects: NetMonitor from MEDIARESEARCH and LifeStyle 2010 from TNS AISA. Possible models of market segmentation are proposed basing on this data.
