Formula Student Tubular Frame Design

This thesis deals with the design of the tubular frame for the Formula Student car competition. The first part is a brief introduction to the competition and used variants of frames. The main part starts with a list of restrictions by the rules and other necessary installation components. The central part is devoted to the draft modifications and their assessment in terms of torsional stiffness by FEM analysis. The final section presents the resulting frame design with respect to the required properties. The work is concluded final evaluation.

Formula Car Rear Wheel Carrier Redesign

The thesis consists of rear wheel suspension design for light Formula Student racing car, especially design of upright, wheel hub and other parts of the assembly. Design was done in CAD software PTC Creo 2.0. Thesis also mentions calculation of critical wheel loads, wheel bearing life calculation and wheel loads during the race as well as stress analysis in Ansys Workbench and fatigue life analysis.
Magnetorheological damper for Formula Student

The master thesis deals with design, manufacturing and testing of a prototype magnetorheological damper developed for Formula Student vehicle. The aim was to design and test the damper with similar damping properties to the vehicle as a conventional damper has. Target force-velocity curves were set using quarter car model and evaluated comparing minimal contact force of a tyre for conventional and newly developed damper characteristics. Structural analysis of designed parts, hydraulic and static magnetic analysis were performed. Manufacturing of a specific part magnetorheological damper part was described – piston. Manufactured prototype damper characteristics were evaluated.
Formula Student Pedal Assembly with Autonomous Brake Function

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to research possible options of autonomous brake system for Formula Student vehicle. Optimal solution is chosen according to the requirements of the team. This solution is designed together with the pedal assembly. Emphasis is placed on reliability, weight and suitable installation in the vehicle compartment when designing the assembly.
Formula Student Rear Wheel Carrier

The aim of this thesis is to create a design rear upright for a racing Formula Student category car. It is necessary to propose a design group of the rear wheel assembly with the upright with all requirements related thereto, for example solutions camber settings. Everything is modeled using the CAD system. There is developed computational model which is placed in ballast states of strain and stress analysis by finite element method. There is also designed a suitable material for the production of the rear upright which is optimized. The conclusion deals with the inclusion of the proposed arrangement in the overall vehicle assembly and is concluded with evaluation and suitability of the proposed solution.
Formula Student cooling system

This bachelor thesis deals with cooling system of Formula Student vehicle with electric drive. The Thesis is divided into three main parts. The first part describes reasons and requirements for cooling, the limits of components and methods of their cooling. The next part is focused on analysis of cooling of single-seater Dragon e1, which obtains the inputs to the design part. Design part contains calculations of losses in inverter and electric motors. The parameters of exchangers and assembly of the cooling circuit are determined. The request is that the operating temperatures are not exceeded during the races. By obtaining more accurate inputs to the calculations, the optimal parameters of the proposed components are achieved.
Formula Student Rear Wheel Carrier

This diploma thesis deals with construction concept of rear upright for a car of the Formula Student category. Further it looks into the details of overall order of the entire rear-wheel carrier. The concept is designed in the CAD Pro-engineer system. The calculation model is created and the tension analysis is performed by MKP method in the Ansys Workbench system.

The Master‘s thesis deals with a creating of display writers on multiple-function steering wheel Formule Student. It is mainly about dates transfered through RS232 or CAN bus from control unit of the Formule to microcontroller. First of all it is necessary to find out, which informations and a which way of displaying them are more useful and readable for drivers. This leads to another point - right choice of display writers, which will be used on the steering wheel. Creation of the design and construction of display device follows.
