Effect of type of discrimination task on rate and effectiveness of discrimination learning to avoid aposematic prey in avian predators
Jůnová, Lenka ; Exnerová, Alice (advisor) ; Sedláček, Ondřej (referee)
During the proces of learning to distinguish between edible and inedible prey, predators can encounter different types of prey either sequentially (one at a time) or simultaneously. Sequential as well as simultaneous presentation are used as experimental designs for testing discrimination learning of bird predators in relation to aposematic prey. These tasks can differ in difficulty level for predator which can affect test results; however, rate and effectivity of discrimination learning in sequential and simultaneous tasks have never been experimentally compared. We tested effect of type of discrimination task on effectivity of discrimination learning and memorability of prey discrimination in adults and juveniles great tits (Parus major) in two sequential tasks (regular and random) and one simultaneous task (multiple- choice). The birds learned to discriminate between edible and inedible artificial prey on the first day, and we investigated memorability of prey on the second day. We used colour (alternative red/green) or pattern (alternative dots/stripes) as discrimination cue. Results showed that tits learned to discriminate by colour cue better than by pattern cue. Adult tits learned to discriminate better than juveniles independently on task type. Effect of age and sex was shown in some tasks...
Choosen roles of photography in school mathematics at of "Group classes" Primary school
Urbánková, Šárka ; Kaslová, Michaela (advisor) ; Kvaszová, Milena (referee)
This thesis is pursued to the possibilities of using photography in teaching of mathematics. I have gathered enough information for condition of use photography. In the next step I made an analysis selected mathematics textbooks in terms of using photography according its six roles. Analysis has shown that most often use photos in textbooks is in a motivational role, that does not carry relevant information to solve a excercise. By the test I compared the influence of picture and photography on the correctness of solving excercises by pupils of the 2nd year of primary school. The test showed that a photography had a similar effect as a picture, and also it pointed out the need to looking for the right format, theme and quality of the photo. The next part of the thesis is devoted to the creation of excercises with photography in various roles for pupils of the 2nd year of primary school. Excercises include many different activities from manipulative to creative. Activities with phootgraphs is possible to use in different teaching organizations and can be used in teaching very quickly and easily. An important element is the emphasis on pupils' own creation, space for their representation of phenomena and joint evaluation of created photographs. Excercises can improve pupils' expression levels....
Choosen roles of photography in school mathematics at second grade of Primary school
Urbánková, Šárka ; Kaslová, Michaela (advisor) ; Kvaszová, Milena (referee)
This thesis is pursued to the possibilities of using photography in teaching of mathematics. I have gathered enough information for condition of use photography. In the next step I followed the objectives: to analyze selected mathematics textbooks in terms of using photography according its six roles; documenting the influence of photography in exercises on their answer; creating a task with photographs that would complement the gaps in their use in didactic materials. Analysis has shown that most often use photos in textbooks is in a motivational role, that does not carry relevant information to solve a excercise. The effectiveness of using a photo is verified on several excercises, which showed a higher abundance of right answers and pointed out the need to look for the right format, motive and quality of the photograph. This excercises also confirmed grasping a decimal system by pupils through a money model. The next part of the thesis is devoted to the creation of excercises with photography in various roles, which are less common in educational materials than the motivational role. Excercises include many different activities from manipulative to creative. Activities with phootgraphs is possible to use in different teaching organizations and can be used in teaching very quickly and easily. An...
Tester for chosen sub-standard of the IEEE 802.1Q
Standard IEEE 802.1Q (TSN) definuje deterministickou komunikace přes Ethernet sít, v reálném čase, požíváním globálního času a správným rozvrhem vysíláním a příjmem zpráv.
Surroundings / Fragments of Life / Vernacity
Pelikánová, Šárka ; Nikitinová, Alice (referee) ; Artamonov, Vasil (advisor)
The collection of paintings entitled SURROUNDINGS is based on my long-term interest in observing the everyday world. In the diploma work, I return to my family, to my home village. I look at my surroundings with gratitude and nostalgia. With gratitude for such a carefree, loving childhood, for the diligence that our parents taught us from an early age. I look nostalgically at what remains the same around the village so far, and regret at everything that changes. During the creative process, I explore maps, recording the shapes of ponds, houses and roads. However, I narrow the resulting set of paintings to the local forests, their transformations and work in them. Paintings with repeating patterns look at first glance with an emptied aesthetic impression, like a purely thematic prank. In fact, I bring personal experience into this decorative repetition, repetitive family stories that have happened, are happening and that I want to capture with this stylized form.

Tobolka, Ondřej ; Marek, Tomáš (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
Thesis solves an issue of application unconventional materials used in horizontal boring machine design. Chosen problem is solved step by step from general selection of suitable material for supporting structure. The selected material is applicated on WFT 13 CNC machine design from production of Fermat and it is created 9 conceptual options of machine’s frame. Finite element method is used for analysis of conceptual options. Based on data from analyses, the best option is selected for constructional part with use of multi-criteria PATTERN method. Constructional part of thesis elaborates on the design of selected conceptual option and gives recommendation for essential processes used in development and production of sandwich structures. The master’s thesis comes with new construction solution for supporting structure of selected machine and especially insight in development and production of new unconventional materials in horizontal boring machines design.
Thermodynamics of Dislocation Pattern Formation at the Mesoscale
Gröger, Roman
We introduce a mesoscopic framework that is capable of simulating the evolution of dislocation networks and, at the same time, spatial variations of the stress, strain and displacement fields throughout the body. Within this model, dislocations are viewed as sources of incompatibility of strains. The free energy of a deformed solid is represented by the elastic strain energy that can be augmented by gradient terms to reproduce dispersive nature of acoustic phonons and thus set the length scale of the problem. The elastic strain field that is due to a known dislocation network is obtained by minimizing the strain energy subject to the corresponding field of incompatibility constraints. These stresses impose Peach-Koehler forces on all dislocations and thus drive the evolution of the dislocation network.
Effects of pattern, size and background contrast of prey on discrimination learning in avian predators
Kuncová, Aneta ; Exnerová, Alice (advisor) ; Komárek, Stanislav (referee)
The topic of this master thesis was the effects of pattern, size and background contrast of prey on discrimination learning of avian predators. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of selected components of warning coloration on aversive discrimination learning of avian predators of different age and sex. The choosen model organism was the Great tit (Parus major). The comparision was done between hand-reared naïve birds and wild-caught adults of different age and sex. The experiment was taking place in the experimental cage with one way mirror. The experiment used a design of simultaneous task with two pray which differed in one component of the coloration (pattern, size and background kontrast). The differencies in the ability of discrimination learning was found just between hand-rared naïve birds and wild-caught adults. Better results were shown by the wild-caught adults. The ability of discrimination learning of wild-caught adults was not influenced by the age and sex. Pattern was the only significant component of the warning coloration due to which the birds were able to memorise the discrimination task. Key words: avoidance learning, unpalatable prey, pattern, size, background, contrast
