Redesign of user interface of a web application based on UX design principles

This bachelor thesis deals with the redesign of the web application user interface based on the principles of UX design. The theoretical part is focused on defining the concept of user experience (UX), as well as the sub-disciplines involved in the creation of user interface (UI), which together creates the resulting user experience. The aim of the theoretical part is to describe the individual steps of the selected procedure of the UX design process based on the principles of user-centered design. The main aim of the practical part is to design a web application that corresponds with the principles of UX design, requirements and goals of users and business. Partial goals are to perform the analysis and research of the target group and the company, and further testing to verify that the designs are in accordance with usability and accessibility principles and also to verify the suitability of the UX design process chosen.

A web site is often the first point of contact between the user and another person or company or organization, so that in the electronic world, a web site is like a calling card. Ideally therefore, a web site should load relatively quickly to prevent the user from looking elsewhere even before the web site has opened. Also, the web site should have a pleasant design to make it user-friendly, it should display helpful content, be widely accessible and, last but not least, fulfil the aims for which it was created. Creation of a User Interface of a Mobile Controller for Interactive Screens

The aim of this thesis is to create a responsive front-end part of the mobile controller for applications on the interactive screens using modern frontend technologies. The theoretical chapters introduce to the readers the basic principles of accessibility and usability, including testing tools, which can be used for checking these principles. The aim of the practical part is to create a concise guide of front-end modern tools and technologies such as front-end frameworks, CSS preprocessors and tools for automating tasks on the front-end. In the practical part are these described tools and technologies used to create a mobile controller.
HTML5 – structure and semantics

Bachelor thesis deals with markup language HTML5 and WAI-ARIA tool. The task of this work is point at semantics which provide both of these technologies. The theoretical part of thesis is primaly focused on development HTML5, his structure and new semantics. The following are listed and explained concepts of accessibility and assistive technology which releated to this topic. Last part contains general information about WAI-ARIA tool, his usability and main properties. The practical part of thesis deals with the use of new HTML5 elements and WAI-ARIA atributes on websites. Testing usability is based on outputs from assistive technology and web browsers.
Procedures of responsive design creating

This Master's thesis focuses on the issue of responsive design creation and comparison of the particular patterns aiming to customizable website. The theoretical part discusses the majority of available possibilities for achieving a responsive design and their general purpose. The practical part covers the use of the particular patterns on the specific web presentation. The thesis includes three similar websites using the responsive design particular patterns without frontend frameworks and, subsequently, their utilization. Their testing served as a means for recommendation for the practice. Another part of the thesis is the summarization of cascading style sheets development with the focus on the responsive design and comparison of two frontend frameworks selected by the author.

This paper establishes ground for the redesign of Brno-střed city district web page. For the purpose of this study web pages of several municipalities were evaluated: Brno-střed city district, Nové Město na Moravě, Praha 1 and Plzeň. Study shows how the selected municipalities fulfill the legal regulations of the Act no. 106/1999 on free access to information and the Act no. 81/2006 Coll. which states that municipalities are obligated to provide the information on web pages also to handicapped or disabled. Furthermore the usability analysis and quantitative survey were applied to municipality web page in Brno-střed region to determine the public needs and requirements. Presented findings indicate both significant failure in fulfilling the law and public dissatisfaction with Brno-střed web page content and structure. This dissertation provides sample solutions for web page usability.
Draft of Optimization of Web Application for B2B

The purpose of this thesis is to design optimization of a webpage application designated for the B2B sector, which should improve a user experience in a significant way. A user experience issue was solved by analytical activities oriented on the webpage of www.webstopar.cz. The results of the analysis were supplemented by a qualitative research. The result of the bachelor thesis is a design of optimization of particular aspects of a user experience. The design implementation should improve the webpage quality from the point of view of a user experience and also bring the benefit of 10% increase in users of the service offered on the webpage. Moreover, the final design of this work is generally applicable for a large variety of Czech and foreign webpages.

Part of this work is not only the design of these pages, but also its implementation and the subsequent location of the hosting. This thesis deals with web presentation design, the principles of creating valid XHTML and CSS codes and web pages as such, with focus on their accessibility and usability. All of these rules and principles are used in the design of company presentation of Atego, s.r.o. The web page is created using XHTML 1.0 Transitional, CSS 2.0, PHP and MySQL database system.
