Work with children with postponement of school entrance in current practice of pre-school education

In my bachelor's thesis I am dealing with issues related to the postponement of compulsory school attendance. I have researched the topic in accordance to the new conditions - the introduction of the compulsory pre-school education of five-year-old childern. The thesis is divided into two main parts − a theoretical part and a practical one. The purpose of the theoretical part is to introduce the topic. The development of the view on the concepts of school maturity, readiness and competence, and the legislative legalisation of the postponement of beginning of the schol attendance is presented here. It also outlines the development of postponements of school attendance from approximately, the middle od the 20th century to the present, and a brief comparison of the Czech Republic and some other European countries concerning the issue of school attendance. Since the rate of postponements of compulsory school attendance in the Czech Republic is relatively high, the countries where the share of posponements is lower, we used for the comaprison. The aim of practical part is to find out how are the childern with postponed school attendance in selected kindergartes in the Vysočina region and Prague being prepared and supported fot the future school attendance. School Maturity and Beginning of School Attendance

This diploma thesis deals with an admission procedure to the first form of primary education, school readiness, beginning of the school attendance and a formation of initial literacy in the first form of primary school. The theoretical part focuses on the ontogeny of a child in the pre-school and young school age, school readiness, the beginning of school attendance and the initial reading and writing skills. The research focuses on the preparation of children in kindergartens for school. It also describes three processes of admission procedure to the first form of primary school at three different schools. The author also analyses results of these admission procedures in 2018. She also analyses the human body drawings in connection with the school readiness. Last but not least she analyses the formation of hygiene habits of pupils in the first forms. The findings of this research are compared with the information in the theoretical part. There are also many appendices that document the research. At the end of the thesis there is the interpretation of the research and a description of contemporary school readiness issues.
Support of school preparedness in the last year of kindergarten

1 ABSTRACT The theme of bachelor's work is to support school readiness in the last year of nursery school. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the period of preschool age and its characteristics. Further, are defined the concepts of school readiness, school readiness, enrolment in the first year of nursery school, postponement of school attendance and its reasons. It is described and analysed pedagogical diagnostics, its methods and support options for children with the postponement of school attendance in kindergarten. The practical part is realized in the research the investigation of the possible ways of pedagogical diagnostics to verify the assumptions of the child before commencement of compulsory schooling. Part of the work are three case studies of children with delayed compulsory school attendance, in which are taken into account, the proposed recommendation of the pedagogical-psychological counseling for the creation of the plans of the pedagogical support, which are directed to the overall development of the child.
Teachers point of view on premature baby in kindergarten

This bachelor thesis is focusing particularly on matters regarding prematurity of preschool children. The purpose is to find out how kindergartens teachers perceive it and what problem areas develop in children born prematurely. The thesis is divided into two sections theoretical and empirical. Theoretical part describes prematurity from early age to preschool age of the children. Further on it examines possible consequences of prematurity in postnatal development and systems which take care of these children. Results from research carried out by using qualitative methods are presented in the empiric section of the thesis.

Résumé This thesis deals with finding differences between homogeneously and heterogeneously assorted classes in nursery schools and their influence on the readiness of a child to enter the first class in elementary school. The theoretical part focuses on school maturity and readiness, general characterization of a pre-school child before entering the first class in elementary school, differences between heterogeneously and homogeneously assorted classes in nursery schools and finally on a child's preparedness for the compulsory education. The practical part shows the results of a research carried out by the means of an author's test of school maturity method and a questionnaire. The research sample consisted of children of pre-school age before entering elementary schools from heterogeneous and homogeneous nursery school classes and pedagogues from nursery and elementary schools. The main objective of this research was to find out which children are better prepared for entering elementary school, whether from homogeneous or heterogeneous classes in nursery schools.
