Borovský, Jiří ; Stellner, František (advisor) ; Županič, Jan (referee) ; Fiala, Jiří (referee)
Military Importance Analysis of the Olomouc fortress in the War of the Austrian Succession and the Seven Years' War Jiří Borovský Abstract The thesis focuses on a role played by the city of Olomouc during the War of Austrian Succession (1740-1748) and the Seven Years' War (1756-1763). Between 1741-1742, almost all Moravian territory became an operational space for armies of the Prussian king Friedrich II. The Prussians took the city of Olomouc, too, and made it their most important military and logistic base within the occupied territories. As soon as the War of Austrian Succession was over, the fortress of Olomouc was rebuilt fundamentally: It took a mere decade of an immense building activity and Olomouc became the most modern bastion fortification in the whole Danubian Monarchy. Shortly after the works had been finished in 1758, the Prussians invaded Moravia again in order to seize the city again. The author analyses both Prussian campaigns to Moravia. The thesis mainly deals with the conditions that involved both Austrian and Prussian parties at the beginning of the war. It draws comparison between both armies involved, and between the actual results of the wars, too. In particular, the author focuses on the comparison of the role of the fortress during the two conflicts as well as on the differences...
The analysis of sepolcri by Jiří Ignác Linek
Tříletý, Petr ; Niubo, Marc (advisor) ; Gabrielová, Jarmila (referee)
The author of the thesis wants to examine the applicability of the concept of galant style as presented by Robert Gjerdingen in his treatise Music in the Galant Style (2007). As a musical material which he wants to analyze by using the mentioned concept he chooses three extant sepolcros by a schoolmaster from Bakov nad Jizerou Jiří Ignác Linek (1725-1791). Further, he deals with a thesis by Eva Tomandlová (1934- 2010) written in the late 1950's that had these sepolcros as its subject. Thus, at presenting Gjerdingen's approach and its specific possibilities, the author can make use of comparison with a method which can be considered an exemplar of the prevailing analytical tradition. Minaříková, Adéla ; Ondřejová, Iva (advisor) ; Mergl, Jan (referee)
The technique of manufacturing of creamware and porcelain was discovered in Europe during the 18th century. The objects made from these materials document the social changes and the development of the dining culture, which both occured during the 18th century. At the end of that century classical culture became a fundamental inspirational source, which had been supported both by the discoveries of the ancient towns, Pompeii and Herculaneum, and by publishing books presenting ancient art. From the end of the 18th century the creamware and porcelain objects were started to be manufactured also in the Czech lands. In this master thesis I have studied, how the ancient influences were manifested in the products of the Czech and Moravian factories, from where they came and how they were transformed. The thesis does not cover all porcelain and creamware production, however it focuses on those factory where it was possible to detect ancient influences. The approach of the particular factories was strongly different. Czech porcelain factories took over ancient themes more likely from graphic patterns used in European workshops. The shapes derived from ancient pottery do not differ too much from the older and also contemporary European examples which were used as models. However, creamware objects tried, nesides the...
