International tax evasion
Piatková, Daša ; Filipová, Vladimíra (advisor) ; Drozen, František (referee)
This thesis is focused on two aspects of tax havens and the issue whether tax havens are generally beneficial. Objective of the thesis is to describe the benefits of legitimate use of tax havens and to outline the causes and consequences of the fight of international organisations and developed countries against countries considered to be tax havens. In addition to these basic information there are also mentioned the ways of using tax havens and the most common legal forms, that are able to exploit their benefits. In the last part of the thesis, the results of my own survey, which purpose was to ascertain the view of entrepreneurs and managers on the use of tax havens, are shown.

The dehumanization of thinking
Kršňák, Jan ; Hanáková, Petra (referee) ; Petříček, Miroslav (advisor)
This is not a summary, but a meaningless part of my thesis. Even it is not a part of it at all. There is no summary in czech. There is no method, but a lot of ruptures, errors, guessworks, and above all gaps. This text is a singular discourse, closed into itself like a black hole and a conceptual film, which has to be seen by reading and read by looking. There is no particular message, this storytelling has no start and no end and doesn't care about present anything to a reader. It is a text which has to be used, because you can't find out any meanings here, if you don't participate in creating them. It is a pulse burst, acummulation of small stories. I use biology, physics, geology, bacteriology and other siences that I don't understand, what helps me to use their stories by the way I need to tell my story which consists only of gaps. There is no diference between physical laws and rules of football. Nature has no grammar and some particles deny to be right, others are missing. Human brain is a result of an easy level of computer game. I don't read Aristotle because of he hadn't a TV set at home. Racionality was dissolved by storytelling and imagination. I use works of Deleuze, Guattari, Baudrillard, Virilio, Debord, De Landa and advertising industry. A rock is considered to be a movie here. A landscape is...

Features and functions of glycocalyx of trematode cercariae
Chaloupecká, Jana ; Mikeš, Libor (advisor) ; Kašný, Martin (referee)
Trematodes are parasites from phylum Platyhelminthes which have compex life cycles involving two to four hosts. This work focuses especially on trematodes of the family Schistosomatidae. Their cercariae which leave the snail intermediate host, actively penetrate the skin of definitive hosts and transform into schistosomula. This is accompanied by detachment of cercarial tail and emptying of penetration glands. During transformation, cercarial bodies undergo extensive ultrastructural and molecular changes. One of these changes is the loss of surface glycocalyx which represents a protective coat in the aquatic environment. In glycocalyx shedding, participation of proteolytic enzymes from cercarial penetration glands is expected during invasion of the host. Glycocalyx has specific composition of saccharide molecules which are bound to lipids or proteins on the membrane of cercarial tegument. This work describes the origin, ultrastructure, saccharide composition, function and shedding mechanism of cercarial glycocalyx.

The awareness of a patient and a co-decision during hospitalization at an internal department
REICHERTOVÁ, Stanislava
This diploma thesis dealt with the issue of awareness of a patient and his or her opportunity to co-decide during hospitalization at an internal department. There were set three targets. The first one was to find out the level of the awareness of the patient during hospitalization about a care plan. From the result of a research is evident that patients feel lack of clear information about the care plan. The second target was to find out whether the patient has a chance to co-decide about a provided care during hospitalization. Comparing results from particular investigations there was a contrary between opinions of patients and medics. Patients think that the opportunity to co-decide is given to them. However, medics think that the opportunity of the patient to co-decide is limited. The third target was to find out, which questions in connection with a process of hospitalization patients ask nurses. Results of the investigation show that the most frequent questions are about the length of hospitalization. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts-theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part describes issues of the process of hospitalization of the patient since his/her income until his/her discharge from hospital. The investigative part was implemented by combination of a quantitative and a qualitative research. For the quantitative part of the investigation there was chosen the method questionnaire with a technique of half-structured interview offering open questions. Into the research file was involved 15 patients hospitalized at the internal department involved. There were set three investigatory questions. 1. What obstacles do exist in order to provide clear information during hospitalization of the patient? The research found out that the most frequent obstacle of intelligibility is a large amount of given information and frequent usage of terminology. 2. What obstacles do exist in order to make the patient an active participant when giving information? The investigation surprisingly resulted that that is not a misunderstanding or lack of empathy from the medic?s position or lack of interest from patient?s position. The main problem to make the patient the active participant during giving information is lack of medic?s time on patients. 3. Does the level of awareness of the patient saturate his or her need of certainty and security? The investigation showed that by the level of awareness is saturated the need of certainty and security. To gain data for the chosen issue of the quantitative research we used the method of questioning by a questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of 17 questions, 14 closed questions, 2 half-opened questions and 1 open question which offered to show a personal opinion. Respondents that were asked were students of paramedic assistant, nursing and paramedic resque worker, furthermore working nurses from both ambulant and bed sector, nurses from management and teacher of praxis. For the quantitative research we had two hypotheses: 1. Frequency of asking questions about the length of hospitalization equals to asking about the health condition. From the research was found out, that frequency of asking about the length of hospitalization is much higher than questions about the health condition. The first hypothesis was not verified. 2. During giving information nurses take for granted to include needs of the patient. The investigation showed that nurses during the hospitalization take for granted to include also patient?s opinions expressing his or her needs. The second hypothesis was verified. Results of our investigation gained in this diploma thesis will be used as sources for a distribution of informative materials for patients. We also think that it would be useful to inform nurses working at internal departments about the results. The results could also be interesting for students of high schools or universities preparing themselves for jobs of medical workers.

Voltage Conveyors in Linear Blocks
Dohnal, Pavel ; Jeřábek, Jan (referee) ; Koton, Jaroslav (advisor)
The main goal of this diploma thesis will be realization of tunable frequency filters using voltage conveyors, that are only little explored yet. At the beginnig of diploma thesis the frequency filters and their types will be defined. The theory of voltage conveyors based on principle of duality results from the character of current conveyors. Accordingly these active components will be closely presented. At first there will be defined individual types of voltage conveyors and their closer characteristics. Then design methods of frequency filters using unconventional active components will be described. There will be defined the method of the total admitance net, subsequently design using synthetic components and at the end there will be presented method using follow graphs that will be used to design concrete circuit solution. Using follow graphs method will be found circuit solutions of current structures with unconventional active components. During searching circuit solutions will be very important the posibility to operate the quality factor. That can be obtained by two ways. One way is the activ operation which is done by coeficients of the activ component. Other way is operating using the passiv component. There are found 26 circuits that realize condition of active operating using two active and four passive components. One of these circuits will be chosen and simulated in simulation program PSpice. To compare both methods of operation there will be compiled some circuit with passive operating with two active and five passive components and one of the passive components will be able to operate the quality factor. This circuit will be simulated in the simulation program PSpice again. The circuit will be real compiled and experimentaly measured in laboratory. Results of this measurement will be compared with calculated values and with values acquired from the simulations.

Theoretical problems of Spanish lexicography
Johnová, Barbara ; Čermák, Petr (advisor) ; Zavadil, Bohumil (referee)
The master's thesis Theoretical Problems of Spanish Lexicography introduces issues associated with creating general monolingual dictionaries. The thesis has two main objectives. Firstly, it aims to summarise the most frequent lexicographic issues and attempt to find their suitable solutions in practice through an analysis of significant research studies dealing with this subject. The issues have been divided into two groups depending on whether they regard the macrostructure (collection of dictionary entries) or microstructure (collection of headword information). As for the macrostructure, one of the main issues is posed by determining the criteria for the selection of dictionary entries. Modern descriptive lexicography considers lexical unit usage frequency to be the main criterion. The macrostructure of general monolingual dictionaries should generally not include proper nouns while productive affixes and affixoids, phraseological units with a high degree of idiomaticity, abbreviations and frequently used neologisms should be included. The thesis also explores the issue of distinguishing between cases of homonymy and polysemy and its impact on lexicographic practice. The chapter on microstructure focuses primarily on the issues of constructing lexicographic definitions with user...

The molecular mechanism of CSL protein participation in oxidative stress response in Schizosaccharomyces pombe
Daněk, Petr ; Převorovský, Martin (advisor) ; Sipiczki, Matthias (referee)
Redox homeostasis maintenance is important for proper organism and cell function, for while relatively low amount of reactive oxygen (and nitrogen) species contributes to the fine tuning of signal transduction, excessive concentration of ROS (oxidative stress) has demonstrably harmful effects and is tightly connected to many pathological states. Cells therefore evolved broad palette of antioxidant mechanisms that express striking level of conservation among different species. Large, intricate stress response signaling networks have been already described; nonetheless, novel molecules employed in stress-related signaling are still being discovered. Several studies recently suggested transcription factors CSL, proteins essential for regulation of metazoan development as effectors of Notch signaling, are also involved in response to oxidative stress. The fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe, well established model of response to various stresses, comprises two paralogs of CSL proteins - Cbf11 and Cbf12. We have found cells depleted of cbf11 are highly resistant to hydrogen peroxide. This resistance appears to be caused by upregulation of important stress responsive genes including ctt1, gst2, pyp2, and atf1. Cbf11 is therefore negative regulator of these genes, which suppresses their expression...

Bidirectional heuristic search
Hřebejk, Tomáš ; Vyskočil, Tomáš (advisor) ; Zajíček, Ondřej (referee)
The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to summarize the most important results on bidirectional heuristic search and to bring some new thoughts. Two algorithms are described which attempt to improve the best algorithms in this field. The algorithms were experimentally compared with a unidirectional algorithm. According to the result of the comparison, we can state that bidirectional heuristic algorithms can be much faster than unidirectional heuristic algorithms. The text also describes how to solve some problems by shortest-path algorithms and how to make a good heuristic. A program which can solve a generalized puzzle was created as a demonstration.
