Creativity in the Students at the University of Economics
Jandáková, Jana ; Franková, Emilie (advisor) ; Lukeš, Martin (referee)
The crucial area of this Bachelor's thesis is the human characteristic known as creativity. The theoretical section first addresses the definition of the concept of creativity and defines the crite-ria that serve to assess creativity levels. It then addresses factors influencing creativity, which from a biopsychosocial perspective can be divided into biological, psychological and social fac-tors. The thesis primarily deals with the latter two groups of factors. The section on psychological factors dissects the basic features contributing to a creative personality; the section on social factors deals with the influence of family, school, social reward and time of life. The subchapter on obstacles to creativity (blocks) includes myths about creativity, which can be considered one of the greatest blocks to creativity, as well as the causes of such barriers. The end of the theoreti-cal section deals with the facilitation of creativity. The goal of the practical section is to assess the level of creativity in students at the University of Economics. On the basis of the data ac-quired through the questionnaire, which takes into account the findings acquired from the litera-ture studied for the theoretical section, the thesis then makes a comparison of the creativity of students, individual departments and ultimately an assessment of the students of the University of Economics as a whole. The conclusion suggests recommendations for students.

Jsou studenti s příjmením blíže začátku abecedy úspěšnější ve škole? Příklad z českých základných škol
Regéczy, Martin ; Bolcha, Peter (advisor) ; Bartoň, Petr (referee)
Humans are born with innate abilities that vary across individuals. Those innate abilities are at their origin unaffected by their name. Yet, as a child grows up it can be put in different situations based solely on name it holds. Those situations alter individuals' behavior in allocation of scarce resources (Carlson and Conrad, 2008) and consequently its earnings (Jurajda and Munich, 2007). At origin of these empirically observed differences might be use of alphabetical ordered lists at elementary and lower secondary schools. The empirical test I conducted fails to reject the null hypothesis that there is relation between surname initials and student achievement. Those at the bottom of alphabetical ordered list of students tend to do better than the rest of the class. Possible explanation might be use of alphabetical sorting during examinations, which creates uneven incentives among students. To support this explanation a model of student's decision under risk is presented and discussed.

Is the level of secondary school graduates declining?
BENDOVÁ, Bronislava
The thesis is focused on the general level of education of secondary school students, especially in terms of its stability, or vice versa its changes. The attention is paid to the most important factors involved in the process of education and general knowledge and skills of today´s students. The thesis sets out to meet the theoretical bases of education and then present the resulting theory, which is based on qualitative survey. The theoretical part deals with the definition of education, their functions and defining the main institutions and factors, which are involved in the education learning process. The practical part is based on a qualitative survey, which was conducted through structured interviews with open questions that were carried out with secondary school teachers from different types of schools. The data collected from these interviews was examined by grounded theory, and then analysed. This thesis, in the practical part, shows a new theory explaining the surveyed area.
