Obligations of subjects of cities and towns the manor of Lanškroun and Lanšperk according to the urbar of the year 1568
Síč, Jan ; Bacík, Radek (referee) ; Čechura, Jaroslav (advisor)
In my work I tried to use the Urbar to describe settlement, population, obligations of subjects, as well as salaries of permanent normal. I also tried to outline advantages and disadvantages of this source in general. Today's historiography deviates from the data Urbar and focuses on their evidence and a general description. Nevertheless, I think that this list may offer suggestions on various issues. Already the fact, whether the required amount was collected, or whether some punishment could follow. Personally, I consider paying dues, either with money or kind to be the most interesting of all. The ways of transmission of small amounts of money and the exact quantity of grain remains unresolved. I assure, that there could be some inaccuracies because of usage of several same or slightly different units of measure. Overall figures had to be rounded or distorted. Perhaps this was the official practice of aristocratic estates. The Urbar could serve to describe the everydayness, here at economic -social zone especially. A fact, that it is the only type of source for the whole manor of Lanškroun and Lanšperk, speaks in favour of the Urbar from 1568.

IMPRINTS OF HISTORY IN POST-AGRICULTURAL FORESTS Ph.D. Thesis Jaroslav Vojta Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Science Praha, 2010 Promotor: Ivan Suchara List of original papers I. Relative importance of historical and natural factors influencing vegetation of secondary forests in abandoned villages (Jaroslav Vojta - Preslia 79: 223-244) II. Land use legacies in post-agricultural forests in the Doupovské Mountains, Czech Republic (Martin Kopecký & Jaroslav Vojta - Applied Vegetation Science 12: 251-260) III. Woody vegetation continuity, topography, and distance to ancient forests have complex effects on the vegetation and species richness of abandoned pastures (Lucie Drhovská & Jaroslav Vojta - submitted) 1 Introduction Land use changes have had a profound effect on vegetation cover. Often, succession results in the recovery of forests on former agricultural land. As areas of post-agricultural forests become increasingly prominent in landscapes of developed countries, these processes have attracted the attention of ecologists. Many questions have arisen regarding the possibility of restoring original forest communities on former agricultural lands (Flinn and Vellend, 2005; Hermy and Verheyen, 2007). At the same time, current and past land use changes could be seen as "natural experiments" that could...

Framework for teaching Database Management Systems on VŠE Praha
Turčín, Pavel ; Chlapek, Dušan (advisor) ; Palovská, Helena (referee)
This thesis focuses on design and subsequent realization of e-learning support for the database management systems course. The first step is definition of the e-learning itself as well as other related concepts. Following part analyzes current status of teaching and evaluating students' knowledge and other possible ways to do so without changing the basic course frame defined by the given syllabus. A list of requirements on the software framework is made on basis of this analysis. These requirements are technical (demanded functionality) and economical (costs of installation and maintenance). The most suitable e-learning system is chosen according to these requirements. The chosen system unfortunately does not fulfill all specified requirements and software witch does, is not available. In this case the following step is design and realization of such software. At first are all requirements specified in detail. The software solution is designed as three independently usable applications: Exercise client, Test client and Administrator. Software is implemented in C# programming language. Whole process of implementation is divided into three increments witch corresponds with projected applications. Every increment adds new functionality to existing solution and the output of every increment is fully usable component.

Comparison of non-commercial CASE tools for UML modelling
Janoušková, Irena ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Buchalcevová, Alena (referee)
Subject of this bachelor thesis is comparison of non-commercial tools for UML modeling. The opening chapter is followed by brief description of the UML language in the second chapter. The fundamental mechanisms of the language and mainly the description of all the diagrams we are able to create by the help of UML are introduced here. Software development metodologies and their importance in the modeling process are also mentioned. Third chapter focuses on characteristics and classification of all CASE tools. General description of CASE tools is followed by the list of the best known UML modeling tools, both commercial and non-commercial. A description of four selected commercial products and their features is also added for illustration. Further in this chapter, you can find a list of several non-commercial applications for UML modeling. Seven of them are chosen for evaluation and comparison. Fourth chapter focuses on the multicriteria evaluation of alternatives and presents the methods used in this thesis. In this chapter we can also find the description of chosen criteria and subcriteria and determination of their weights. The fifth chapter aims at evaluation of the selected tools according to the chosen criteria. Calculated criteria values and overall evaluation according to the chosen multicriteria evaluation of alternatives method is presented in the sixth chapter. Results are listed in lucid table format. Tools are ordered by both the overall result and results of particular criteria, so that the reader can perceive the advantages and disadvantages of the evaluated products. In the epilogue I ruminate over the results and their explanatory value.
