Long-term unemployment in Czech repiblic 1998 - 2008
Jílková, Lenka ; Kotýnková, Magdalena (advisor) ; Mládek, Josef (referee)
In 2007 came into force amendments to the social security system in the Czech Republic. Agreed amendments aim to strengthen the motivation to enter and remain in the labour market, favouring those who seek to improve their situation through their own effort and unfavouring people living just on welfare benefits. There was thus a redefinition of the social benefits and their construction. And there was a significant reduction in unemployment in 2007. This thesis entitled "Developing long-term unemployment in the years 1998 - 2008" assesses the impact of these changes on the level of unemployment, special attention is paid to long-term unemployment. The work is not overlooked by the economic situation of the Czech Republic in the years 1998 - 2008.

Šprlák, Tomáš ; Hubinková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Lukeš, Martin (referee)
This thesis concerns the homelessness, which is an important problem of modern society. The problem is treated from the viewpoint of the integration of homeless people on the labour market. The theoretical part concerns the historical development of work as a factor of the social cohesion, labour market mechanisms with emphasis on the problem of the social exclusion, unemployment and homelessness. Empirical part shows the results of an inquiry realized on 23 homeless people in Prague and includes three case studies. It is shown that work has an important integrative role in the society as homelessness is connected with high unemployment (above 70%), low intensity of labour market activities (11 hours per week in average) and instability of employment (more than 50% stated working only one day in one employment in average). This is caused by multiple factors on the side of the homeless person himself (loss of identity card, high age, loss of working habits), the employer (illegal employment and discrimination) as well as broader system context (labour market inflexibilities).
International labor migration in the Czech Republic after the EU accession
Zakouřilová, Eva ; Němec, Otakar (advisor) ; Amort, Jiří (referee)
The objective of this diploma thesis is to analyze and evaluate situation on the Czech labor market in relation with international labor migration in the Czech Republic after the EU accession. The situation on the Czech labor market is demonstrated on the data of the Statistical Office, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic and other institutions engaged in this issue. Closer analyze of this issue leads to the conclusion that the Czech labor market, as well as other foreign labor markets, is affected by the emigration of qualified labor. It is then necessary to make up this deficit of labor by immigration of qualified labor from abroad. This immigration of labor is essential for positive oncoming population demographic development too. That is the reason why it is necessary for the Czech Republic to actively use and work on further improvement of active migration politics. That is an area where the Czech Republic has already accounted various accomplishments. However it remains to be a key area on which the Czech Republic should remain focused and in which should constantly improve.
