Drží ženy cenu sexu vysoko?
Smyčková, Renée ; Houdek, Petr (advisor) ; Svoboda, Miroslav (referee)
The thesis investigates whether gender inequality influences the attitudes toward sexuality in society. Data collected in 33 countries show that higher gender ineqality is linked with more restrictive sexual norms and practices, therefore with higher price of sex. Women exchange the access to sex for marriage and long term providing of resources from men. Contrary, more equal societies enjoy relatively permissive norms, measured by age of first sex , number of sexual partners, tolerance of premarital sex and practices of casual sex. The results of analysis also show significant impact of religiosity, which is negatively corelated with promisuity, and openness of society. More democratic countries tend to have relatively liberal norms.

The Mathematical Games in French language My diploma thesis deals with one of the possible strategies in bilingual education - CLIL method, which links teaching of a technical subject and a foreign language - mathematics and French, in this case. As a tool for its implementation, I chose games because I consider them as an entertaining and a very available way of teaching. The aim of this thesis was to find out and to describe the potential of this education at different school levels. At the beginning, I focus on general integration of the technical subject and the foreign language, and then I mention the importance of didactic games and basic terminology of mathematical terms in French. The core of this thesis is my own selection of games in Czech and French language intended for three levels of school. This file was inspired by several mathematical books on didactic games. The gained data have been processed on the base of observation and analysis of individual worksheets. The results show the potential of CLIL method as a new possibility for bilingual teaching of technical subjects.

Analysis of material to be machined influence on the wear and tool durability
Tolkner, Josef ; Novák, Zdeněk (referee) ; Bumbálek, Bohumil (advisor)
Machining technology is a multi disciplinary field, and together with the economy are playing always more important role in the success of the enterprise market products and services. Recent studies show that it requires very close link between technology, management and information technology such as the integration process and production planning, simulation of manufacturing systems, production flexibility, virtual machines, control algorithms, etc. The key changes are based on the requirements for miniaturization of products, higher production accuracy, closer tolerances, better surface quality, part of weight reduction, reduction of lot size and reducing production costs. The report is focused on machining titanium alloys. In the theoretical part are presented the properties and the distribution of titanium alloys. In the practical part is then carried out an experiment aimed to influence the composition of workpiece material on tool wear. Experiment results and recommendations are listed at the end of this report.

The relationship between the mother and daughter and its cohesion with anorexia nervosa.
VOZÁRYOVÁ, Kateřina
In my bachelor thesis I am interested in relationships between mother and daughter who is diagnosed with mental anorexia. This eating disorder is serious problem nowadays, especially in teenage girls. It is very important to focus on causes of this disorder to reveal it's nature. Although most of the literature talks about socio-cultural view of female body and problematics of the ideals of beauty, I decided to go deeper in to the relationships inside the family. The main theme is linking anorexia with this relationship. In theoretical part of my thesis I describe eating disorders, their symptoms, causes and consequences. I was interested in relationships inside family and also influence of parents and their upbringing. Very important part of my thesis is description of characteristics in relationship between mother and daughter. It is qualitative-concipiated research of the relationship and it focuses on the subjective perception of the relation. I used semi-structured interviews with mother and daughter, and gathered informations was complemented with drawing materials. Interviews and drawings show that relations of the sick girls with their mothers are very close or very weak or ambivalent.

The influence of pharmacology and reduction diet on metabolism of adipose tissue in obese patients with diabetes type 2
Anderlová, Kateřina ; Haluzík, Martin (advisor) ; Vítek, Libor (referee) ; Stárka, Luboslav (referee)
Insulin resistance, obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus and their complications are linked together under definition called Metabolic or Reaven Syndrome. The presence of Metabolic Syndrome increases the risk of atherosclerosis and consequently cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Metabolic Syndrome belongs among civilization diseases and due to changes in our life styles becomes major health and social-economic issue. The insulin resistance is considered primary pathology that may induce other components of Metabolic Syndrome. Research conducted within last decade brought significant results and showed how important is the adipose tissue in the development of insulin resistance especially in the context of discovery of endocrine function of adipose tissue. The existence of nuclear receptors PPAR (peroxisome proliferator activated receptor) could explain the interaction between particular tissues and hormonal factors which may induce insulin resistance. When the PPAR receptors are bound by lipophilic ligands they directly affect transcriptional processes in cell nucleus and induce expression of genes involved in metabolism of lipids and carbohydrates, in the regulation of inflammation, in tumor growth regulation, in immune response, in cell differentiation and etc. In current medical practice...

How Bank Competition Influences Financial Stability
Vildová, Romana ; Horváth, Roman (advisor) ; Teplý, Petr (referee)
How Bank Competition Influences Financial Stability Abstract This paper investigates the link between financial stability and bank competition by means of the Arellano & Bond (1991) GMM model using annual panel data over the period 2000 - 2014 for 205 countries. Our data source is a new, richer and updated dataset The Global Financial Development Database available at World Bank. Due to the specifics of this dataset we are able to use new combinations of measures of financial stability and of bank competition and to study their relationship in greater depth. We find a positive link between financial stability and bank competition. Furthermore, our results provide evidence that it matters what measures of financial stability and bank competition we apply. Lastly, we ascertain that the relationship between financial stability and bank competition does not change over time. Králová, Jarmila ; Čečková, Martina (advisor) ; Červený, Lukáš (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology Candidate: Jarmila Králová Supervisor: Dr. Kathryn Taylor, Ph.D., PharmDr. Martina Čečková, Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: Zinc induced activation of breast cancer cell lines and the involvement of MAP kinase The aim of this work was to investigate the effect of zinc on various signalling pathways in breast carcinoma cell lines MCF7 and TamR cells. The differences between signalling pathways in MCF7 cell line and TamR cells were evaluated with a special focus on a role of MAP kinase, which activation is believed to be linked with malignant diseases. An effect of zinc on various cellular kinases in 0, 2, 5, 10, 15 and 20 minute of zinc treatment was analyzed in MCF7 cells transfected by wild and mutant type of ZIP 7, TamR cells and TamR cells pre-treated with MAP kinase inhibitor (PD) using the methods of western blotting and fluorescent microscopy. We show here the dependence of activation of pMAP kinase and other important oncogenic kinases (such as Lyn, Src and STAT3) on zinc release into cytoplasm. According to our results, MAP kinase is activated very upstream and it can stimulate many important protein kinases as Src Y418 , STAT3 S727 and Lyn Y396 in tamoxifen-resistant breast cancer...
