Exile as a creative process. Chapters from romanian exile literature in France.

Exile has always played a significant role in the history of the Romanian nation. On that account the Romanian literature written in exile after 1945 presents an important part of the history of Romanian literature as a whole. Due to its linguistic and cultural affinity France became one of the main host countries for Romanian exile writers. The introductive chapter is dedicated to description, classification and history of this phenomenon in Romanian context; furthermore, it deals with the position and reception of exile literature in Romania. According to their departure date in exile two generations of authors are presented: Mircea Eliade, Virgil Ierunca, Monica Lovinescu who left Romania in 1940s and Paul Goma, Bujor Nedelcovici, Dumitru Ţepeneag who decided to leave in France in 1970s and 1980s. The chosen works help us to get to know to the writers' creation and lives during the process of integration and, simultaneously, we get familiar with the communist Romania that became the main topics of the exile writers who are chosen as representatives of their exile generation. Through them the basic survey of this phenomenon in Romanian literature was drawn up.
Russian as a second foreign language on the basis of French

The didactics of the FL2 (second foreign language) is a new part of the didactics which is issued from the didactics of foreign languages. It is predominantly focused on the use of comparative method and on the cognition of the teaching process as the didactics of FL2 is based on the fact that students learning FL2 already have some experience with FL1 (first foreign language). In fact, the didactics of the FL2 should always be understood as triangle of mutual relations among ML (mother language) - FL1 - FL2. When comparing French and Russian, the interface of these languages is mainly constituted in the vocabulary and the socio-cultural part of the communicative competence. And thus teachers should be sensitive to the areas of the socio-cultural competence which students are familiar with and which they aren't.
Speech development in children growing up in a bilingual environment

A n o t a t i o n This thesis deals with the development of speech in children growing up in a bilingual environment. The aim is to explain the basic concepts related to bilingualism, describe in detail strategies of bilingual education and describe the specifics of speech development of children growing up in a bilingual environment. I would like to broaden the community understanding about bilingualism and summarize new ideas and information for parents who are considering a bilingual or multilingual education. Theoretical knowledge is used in the practical part of this thesis, which examines and compares the differences in the speech development of children growing up with two or more languages against children who grow up with only one mother tongue.
Native-speaker status and other qualifications in the translation services market: Marketing and price-setting strategies of translation agencies

This study combines linguistic and economic points of view to deliver insights into two national translation services markets. Translation services form a relatively large market and provide quite a high number of jobs globally. In this industry, which is largely unregulated by government bodies, translation agencies have the potential to act as quality warrantors by applying elaborate quality-assurance procedures and requiring their freelance translators to possess certain qualifications. A controversial yet widely mentioned qualification is being a native speaker of a specific language. Drawing on a critique of the conventional "native speaker" concept and on insights from economics, Language Management Theory, and critical discourse analysis, this study investigates how the native-speaker status, along with other translator qualifications, is used as an argument for higher quality and a higher price in marketing and price-setting strategies of translation agencies in the Czech Republic and Germany when it comes to a technical translation into a non-local language. The function/ (and) comprehensibility of written Czech in the intracultural communication of the deaf

This Bachelor Thesis deals with the topic of written Czech language in the interactive communication of the Deaf. The theoretical part comprises chapters about the general specifics of the Deaf community, their characteristic communication features (intercultural, but primarily intra-cultural), the specifics of their written language and of their reading skills. Furthermore, the theoretical part covers topics such as interference from mother/first tongue and translation theory, as these are closely connected with inter- and intra-cultural communication of the Deaf. The practical part explores research on intra-cultural communication. Specifically, by exploring the question if Czech texts written by the Deaf have a function in intra-cultural communication of this language minority, and if they are comprehensible for the readers. The initial hypothesis is that the Deaf understand defective texts created by Deaf themselves better than grammatically correct texts written by Czech native speakers. Czech of Spanish Speakers (case study)

The bachelor's thesis Czech of Spanish Speakers is divided into two parts. The first is theoretical and deals mainly with the issue of language transfer. The second part analyzes the errors in two specific texts provided by a Spanish native speaker, one being a written text and the other a transcript of speech. Errors are separately analyzed from a phonetic, grammatical, morphologic, syntactic and lexicological perspective. The central topic of the thesis is native language interference. The conclusion provides an overview and comparison of both texts.
The use of the TPR method in English language teaching at the elementary school level.

This diploma thesis deals with the use of the TPR method (Total Physical Response) where the principle is a student who does not speak, only reacts nonverbally to verbal instructions given by a teacher e.g. by moving, drawing, colouring. This method is based on a similarity with learning the mother tongue. The work is divided into a theoretical part consisting of the theoretical background of the given method and the comparison with the process of learning the mother tongue, and a practical part which contains a research survey about the knowledge of using the TPR method at a particular primary school, it also contains general typology of TPR activities and specific examples and an analysis to each type of an activity.
To general principles of acquiring foreign language by child

The submitted M.A. thesis builds on the B.A. thesis entitled On general questions of psycholinguistics and develops factual points of departure related to the topic of adoption of a foreign language by a child. A part of the theoretical section is the definition of basic concepts in the field of psycholinguistics, in particular developmental psycholinguistics, and the design of the notion of adoption of a foreign language by a child. The primary goal of the study is to provide a comparative listing of the individual theories of adoption of a foreign language by a child, not only at the level of the mother tongue, but at the level of a second language as well. The basic theoretical concepts of adoption of a foreign language are based on linguistic, psychological and especially psycholinguistic scientific research. The other goals of the thesis include the definition of extensive variable determinants which participate in the process of adoption of a foreign language by a child and also influence the resultant level of adoption of a non-native language. In the concluding part of the theoretical compilation, space is provided for the psycholinguistic aspects of adoption, such as enunciative, speech and written displays of a foreign language. The empirical part is built up in a way so that it highlights the applicability of the process of adoption of a foreign language by a child in a natural environment, i.e. in a bilingual family environment where the resultant process is the most effective and verifiable. For this reason, it is not possible to talk about learning a foreign language but rather about the adoption of a second language.
