Gabzdilová, Marianna ; Čeňková, Ivana (advisor) ; Rejšková, Jana (referee)
The experimental working memory research in simultaneous interpreting has so far been very limited. There were small number of studies of cognitive processes in simultaneous interpreting. This thesis gives a brief overview of the recent experimental studies in this field and presents the subject of working memory. First part of this thesis shows the largely known theoretical models of working memory, information about its possible developement and its relation towards language. On the basis of the recent theoretical research, we formulated a hypothesis for the empirical part of this thesis. The hypothesis assumes that with interpreting practice there is a developement of working memory capacity and that the language factor becomes less important. In the empirical part of the thesis we described the experiment that had been done to confirm the hypothesis. The experiment consisted of standard listening span task adapted to two language variants, in Czech and in French. Thirty participants took part in this experimental study - 10 professional interpreters, 10 interpreting students and 10 non-interpreters (people without interpreting training and professional interpreting experience). All of the participants had approximately the same language skills in Czech and in French. Czech was the mother tongue of all...

Klapetek, Anna ; Kulišťák, Petr (referee) ; Šturma, Jaroslav (advisor)
The neuropsychological developmental screening NES was created for German pediatric practice and allows to quickly assess the developmental state of children between 2 and 24 months of age. At 2-4 and 5-7 months, the test assesses regulation of posture and movement, fine motor control, visual perception and cognitive skills, at 9-12 months visual perception tasks are replaced by exploration behavior tasks, while at 16-19 and 22-24 months posture and movement regulation, visuomotor skills, receptive and expressive language, and cognitive skills are evaluated. The aim of this thesis was to introduce the screening and test its applicability in the context of Czech Republic. The theoretical part summarizes current knowledge on child development in the first two years, specifies the term developmental delay and discusses methodological problems associated with developmental diagnostics. Lastly, the theoretical grounding of the NES is described. In the empirical part, a Czech language version of the NES was created and subsequently administered to 50 Czech children. Despite the overall positive experience with the NES, weak points were identified in the original test instructions, which were modified in the Czech manual. The quantitative results allowed the identification of critical test items. Moreover,...

Novotná, Marcela ; Králová, Jana (advisor) ; Uličný, Miloslav (referee)
This extended essay deals with the theme of expression of interpropositional relationships in the translation of bilateral international treaties. In the theoreticalempirical part we characterize generally the functional law style and then we define its features both in the Czech and in the Spanish languages. We offer a short synopsis of its different genres covered by this functional style. We study the question of legal translation and distinguish its two fundamental types - the instrumentally and the documentary translation. We present the genre of bilateral international treaty. By summarizing the information contained in the specialized literature and the translation analysis we determine its dominant features both in the Czech and in the Spanish languages (with the exception of the area of interpropositional relationships which will be dealt by detail 113 in the empirical part of our essay). The area of the interpropositional relationships follows by defining them as the object of our research. The empirical part is elaborated by the method of a qualitative research. In the exemplar material of the bilateral international treaties proceeding from the area of the law of social security we explore the realization of the proposition from the point of view of explicitation and implicitation of its...

Bayerová, Anežka ; Vymětal, Petr (advisor) ; Kný, Daniel (referee)
This thesis focuses on the financing of the Czech political parties and movements. The work aims to show the financing of election campaigns and to evaluate the transparency of the candidate parties and movements in the context of early elections to the Chamber of Deputies in 2013. It seeks to find an answer to the question whether the opening of transparent accounts is an effective instrument to prevent non -- transparent conduct of political parties. Then I ask on the effectiveness of projects monitoring the financing of election campaigns, which was carried out by the organization Transparency International -- Czech Republic in this case. A side effect of this work is to answer the questions, by what means could be achieved a more transparent political environment and if it succeeds how we reach a state in which would be the new established changes respected? The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter has purely theoretical character and focuses on the model of financing of political parties in the Czech Republic, legislation governing this area and the proposed regulatory measures. The second chapter summarizes the assessment of the political parties and movements, who participated in the project of financial monitoring in the context of election campaigns. Parties are evaluated according to criteria designed to assess their openness to the voters. The third chapter contains a summary of the financial monitoring and analytical interpretation of transparent accounts of the political parties. At the end of the work can be found a data comparison, which compares dates from the financial monitoring with those from the annual financial reports. At this point, it is undoubtedly necessary to amend the current legislation governing the political funding, for the lack of rules, which proved the work.
