Deficiencies in the conduct of contracting entities from the perspective of case-law of the Office for the Protection of Competition

The purpose of this thesis is to identify the most common and the most severe deficiencies in the conduct of the contracting authorities in the case law of the Office for the Protection of Competition and based on the data about numbers of these deficiencies in the past years and by taking into consideration the proposed legislative changes forecast the future development in the numbers and severity of the deficiencies in the conduct of the contracting authorities. In case of an adverse forecast correct aim of future legislative changes will be suggested so that the principles of transparency, equal treatment and non-discrimination would be protected and more efficient use of public funds would be ensured. The thesis is composed of eight chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects of the deficiencies of the contracting authorities. Chapter One is introductory. The administrative development and life in the state asylum in Prague

This work traces a 95-year period of working of the Municipal Establishment for Deranged People (Zemský ústav pro choromyslné) in Prague. More exactly, it deals with the period from its foundation in 1791 until the origination of its successor institutions - the Czech and German Psychiatric Clinics in the year 1866. The first part of the work describes the foundation of the establishment, beginnings of its operation, its successive disaffiliation from the General Hospital (Všeobecná nemocnice), of which it was initially a part, its rapid building development, and the establishment's day-to-day life. In the year 1846, the establishment became a stand-alone medical institution, entirely independent of the hospital's management. It was a state charitable institution and, as such, it was financed by the state. It obtained additional funds for its operation from the fees for the provided care and other activities. The Chapter Two, which maps the years 1846-1864, addresses not only these financial matters, but also the establishment's separate administration and its other building and qualitative developments. Integration processes of the Balkan countries into the EU and NATO

The aim of this thesis is to estimate the level of preparedness of the Western Balkans regarding their accession into the EU. Simultaneously, it describes the barriers that prolonged these processes. The first charter examines the compliance of these countries with the political conditionality set by the Union. The second chapter concentrates on the general economic situation of this region. And finally the third chapter deals with the disputes between the Balkan states that are greatly complicating their process of integration within the EU.

Annulment of an Arbitral Award in International Commercial Arbitration

The purpose of my thesis is to analyse and generally describe an annulment of arbitral award in international commercial arbitration. The reason for my research is an interesting topic, which has not been described in detail yet and the aim of this thesis is to look at this institute from the perspective of relevant domestic and foreign authors and legislation of various countries. Furthermore the thesis aims to highlight possible dangers which accompany the process of annulment of the award, or the process after its setting aside. The thesis is composed of six chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects of setting aside of an award in International commercial arbitration. Chapter One is introductory and describes the history, the legislation and explains advantages and disadvantages of the international arbitration as a whole. Chapter Two defines basic terminology used in the thesis. The chapter is subdivided into three parts. Part One describes arbitration and explains its main features. Media Legislation of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and its changes

This work deals with venezuelan media legislation, it's changes after the 2002 failed coup d'état and possible implications on freedom of expression. It describes the structure of ownership of media outlets in Venezuela and tries to closer understand the very principles of operating of venezuelan media. It also briefly deals with the socioeconomic situation of the country and with laws, that have been passed under the governance of Hugo Chávez. A part of this study is dedicated to the Chávez - media relationship and to creation of his media image. In quite detailed manner is then analyzed the 2002 coup d'état, in which private media outlets have played the primordial role. This part of the study focuses on media coverage of this critical event in modern history. Related topic to this is then chapter, that unveils american funding of venezuelan journalists and private media outlets. Finally this work sheds light on claims about the undemocratic character of venezuelan media, made by some western media and humanitarian watchdogs, that are proven to be false.

Nanotechnology and its importance in the Czech economy

For a small open economy such as the Czech Republic are important innovations, high value-added business and export. The main objective of this thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of the overall advancement of nanotechnology and its impact on the economy, not only in the world but mainly in the Czech Republic. The paper first describes nanotechnology theoretically, its history and use. The second part focuses on the importance of nanotechnology to the world economy. On nanotechnologies in Czech Republic focuses third chapter, which evaluates funding, research and development of nanotechnology, the impact on the Czech economy and compares the position of the Czech Republic and other countries. The last part is devoted to the future of nanotechnology and the impact of their progress on the economy and investment.

Slovakia and Euro in 2009

Object of this work was to characterize impacts of Euro implementation on economy of Slovakia. Work is explaining the background of entry of Slovak republic to economic and monetary union, introductory processes and after-effects. Project work is divided into three major parts. First chapter is clued-up of historic milestones of entry to euro area, compliance with Maastricht criteria and steps provided by government during introductory term. Second chapter deals with progress of macroeconomic values. Third chapter presents results and interpretation of data obtained by conducted research. Research is focused on feelings of citizens of Slovakia after Euro implementation.

Comparison czech ODS and german CDU

The topic of my diploma thesis involves comparison between the largest Czech right-wing political party, the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), and the largest German conservative general political party, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) which, together with the Christian Social Union (CSU) comprises a faction (CDU/CSU) at the federal level. The major objective of the thesis is an analysis of development and programmatics of both political parties and subsequent comparison thereof, I.e. identification of any common, similar and different characteristic features. The thesis is divided into four chapters. Chapter One deals with the theory of political parties, more strictly with the very concept of political party and its formation, its definitions, how it is divided, what roles it plays and what types of political parties there exist. Chapter Two is devoted to the Civic Democratic Party. I describe its formation, subsequent development and, finally, its programmatics. Jádrem práce je již analýza konkrétních šesti systémů národní nebo mezinárodní úrovně, které byly nahlíženy především z pohledu uživatele. Financial analysis of the credit union

The aim of the diploma thesis is a financial analysis of the credit union. The main aim of the thesis is to show how credit unions are working in the Czech Republic, and to apply a financial analysis of the selected credit union. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter describes a financial analysis in general, its resources, users and methods. The second charter deals with legislation of credit unions, their operation on the Czech market and supervisory duties of the Central Bank. Accounting and statements of credit unions are discussed in the third chapter. The final fourth charter deals with practical analysis of selected savings cooperatives.
