How the psychotherapists experince and cope with a failure in psychotherapy.
Jakubů, Jiří ; Srnec, Jan (advisor) ; Kebza, Vladimír (referee) ; Kožnar, Jan (referee)
Abstract. This study aims at examining how psychotherapists experience and cope with failure in their therapeutic practice. We have designed a questionnaire on coping with failure and by employing the ESK existential scale we explored the set of 100 psychoterapists, consisting of 55 females and 45 males, in total 48 psychologists, 29 physicians and 23 workers in helping professions, all between 25 - 64 years of age, of various psychoterapeutic approaches. We have focused on all 3 aspects of coping - emotional, cognitive and practicalbehavioral. At the same time we have examined situations that therapists perceive as a failure, significant failures they have experienced, and what helped them tocope with them and whether their beliefs, conviction or values help them in coping with emotional and mental stress, caused by failure. Our findings correspond to few papers on this issue, that is dropouts, therapists' feeling, stress and failure. Failure is an important emotional stress at the psychotherapist's practice. Typical failures are client' s suicide, dropout, retirement from therapy, as well as deterioration of bodily symptoms, social relations and relations to oneself during the therapy. This perceived therapists' failure tends to be connected with intense negative feelings of anger, anxiety, sorrow, guilt,...

The human being as man and woman in Genesis 2 - Exegesis on Gn 2:18-24
Kleknerová, Anna ; Prudký, Martin (advisor) ; Čapek, Filip (referee)
This graduation thesis with the title Man as Male and Female According to Genesis 2: Exegesis of Gen 2; 18-24 seeks to reveal and understand its message for modern people, utilizing exegetic methods, seizing and re-thinking the text's emphasis; utilizing grammatical and textually-syntactic analysis, comparison of text versions, concordances and particularly locating the pericope's place in the literary- canonic context, the thesis is classifying the pertinent determinations and inter-textual relationships. Another part of the writing is taking into account the approach of some Old Testament commentators and biblists, stressing some anthropological points of view. On the background of the work there is a need to explore the relevancy of two contrary tendencies in the field of biblical interpretation of modern scripture studies, circling around the question of the subordination of women in relation to men. Opportunities and limits in psychologist's work with behaviorally disturbed adolescents in institutions
Halfarová, Kateřina ; Procházková, Jana (advisor) ; Rendl, Miroslav (referee)
My thesis refers to the broad issue of education in institution. It focuses on adolescents with dystropy. It tries to reveal what is possible concerning the role of psychologist in istitution and in the same time what is limiting psycholodist's work. My thesis has analyzed the data of clients, psychologists a other cooperating professions. It lays stress on the work with clients and in the same time on the own role of the psychologist. My thesis used qualitative characters and data processing model concerning the explorational methods. The data were colected using questionnaire filled in by clients, psychologists and other cooperating proffesions - all of different institutions. Those data were analyzed and were integrated with half - structured interview. My aim was to make a broader insight to the issue of education in institution. I did a final review of empirical - picked up evidence at the very end of my thesis and in its discussion. I tried to call the attantion to some questionable points concerning education adolescent clients.

Spin dynamics in GaAs-based semiconductor structures
Schmoranzerová, Eva ; Němec, Petr (advisor) ; Postava, Kamil (referee) ; Kužel, Petr (referee)
This work is dedicated to the study of spin dynamics in systems based on the semiconductor gallium arsenide (GaAs) that are suitable for use in spintronic devices. We explored two types of model structures using experimental methods of ultrafast laser spectroscopy and transport measurements. In the ferromagnetic semiconductor (Ga,Mn)As, we investigated laser-induced magnetization precession. We found out that transfer of both energy and angular momentum from the circularly polarized laser light can trigger magnetization precession, the latter one being identified as a new phenomenon, the "optical spin transfer torque". Furthermore, we demonstrate the possibility to control the energy-transfer-induced magnetization dynamics both optically and electrically using piezo-stressing. When dealing with purely non-magnetic structures for spintronics, we studied the Spin-Injection Hall Effect (SIHE) in GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures with a special type of spin- orbit (SO) coupling that are lithographically patterned to create nanodevices. We managed to observe precession of the electron spin in the SO field directly in the space domain by extending the original detection method. This finding, together with the direct detection of a pure spin current, helped to propose a working spin Hall effect transistor.

Exploring models of work with family whose children suffer from severe forms of epilepsy
Kynclová, Dana ; Goldmann, Petr (referee) ; Procházková, Jana (advisor)
This work deals with families whose children suffer from a serious form of epilepsy. On a general level it describes to what extend the condition adversely influences each child's development stage. Then it focuses in detail on the impacts on the child's mental health, as well as on various constraints imposed by this condition. The study also explores the topics of the parent's acceptance, the consequences on the parent's approach to upbringing, capacities for coping with stress and the common ways of families' adaptation to the situation. The key topic of this study is the impact of the child's illness on the family, which is seen as a system. The essential thesis is that a change of one family component (the sick child) influences the entire system paradigm. Therefore in this sense the functioning and healthiness of a family is for the purposes of this study defined as the ability of a family system to cope with stress and adapt to it. The family stress coping strategies are seen as a key instrument for a successful adaptation. Anything a family does for strengthening and using resources for endurance falls under a stress coping strategy. Since one of the possible strategies is the use of professional assistance services, a part of this study also elaborates on possibilities for an expert support...

Problems of Penitencial Care and Its Consequences Projecting into the Field Postpenitencial Care
Javůrková, Tereza ; Dočkal, Jan (advisor) ; Bachmann, Otto (referee)
I worked on various philosophic themes relating to punishment and on the origins of the role of punishment in society. This chapter explores the nature of incarceration and the problems which can arise from a penology viewpoint. I later focus on the psychological aspects of the incarceration period, the stress and trauma involved and the various problems resulting from this. The following chapter is dedicated to the problems of aggression in penal institutions. I later focus on alternatives to typical incarceration methods, examine the alternatives and look at the advantages and dis advantages of the various approaches. I then focus on rehabilitation and reAsocialisation programs for prisoners released conditionally and those who served their entire sentence. These programs work with the incarcerated who were conditionally released from prison and also with those who served their sentence in its entirety. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Hedge funds and emerging markets : exploring the links in the 2007-2009 financial crisis
Kesslerová, Olga ; Raková, Marie (referee) ; Geršl, Adam (advisor)
The main target of this diploma thesis is a description of hedge funds universe with a stress on hedge funds operating on emerging markets. We attempt to assess a possible role of hedge funds in the global economy during financial turmoils. The thesis comments the situation on emerging markets during the currency crises in late 1990s, and compares the development with that of recent global crisis of 2007 - 2009. Consequent empirical analysis of different hedge funds indices and suitable proxies for prices of local stocks, bonds, and currency exchange rates, examines possible bilateral causal relationships between the activity of hedge funds and prices of basic financial assets on emerging markets. We propose vector autoregression model, and interpret the results in a sense of Granger causality.

Crissis as a reflection of personal values, or the structure of semantic space in area of crisis situations in Buddhists, Christians and atheists
Klouda, Martin ; Bahbouh, Radvan (referee) ; Štětovská, Iva (advisor)
The aim of the paper is to explore the relationship between spiritual orientation and attitudes towards stressful life experiences and emotional manifestations of crises. The theoretical part of the work surveys a wide range of crisis issues and stressful life experiences. Furthermore, it contains a description of how spirituality issues are dealt with in contemporary psychology. The rest of the theoretical part of the work is devoted to delineating various attitudes towards crises and stressful life experiences as depending on different spiritual orientations - those of Buddhists, Christians and atheists. In this part of the paper, I worked with original canonical texts of both the religions - the Bible and Tipitaka. Finally, the theoretical part includes the approach of contemporary psychology towards the questions of stress coping and attitudes. The empirical part of the work first defines the survey research questions. The following parts of the work define the concepts applied in the survey and describe the course of the survey. In order to measure differences among the three studied groups of people of different spiritual orientations - Buddhists, Christians and atheists I used Osgood's, Suci's and Tanenbaum's semantic differential method. The results of the survey in which 84 respondents took part...

Global Economic Outlook - February 2017
Česká národní banka
The February issue of Global Economic Outlook presents the regular monthly overview of recent and expected developments in selected territories, focusing on key economic variables: inflation, GDP growth, leading indicators, interest rates, exchange rates and commodity prices. In this issue, we tend to explore analytically the effect of (un)conventional monetary policy measures on shadow interest rates in the euro area and the USA. Based on our estimates, we show in this article that the effect of monetary policy measures on shadow rates differs depending on whether they were aimed at stabilising financial markets or further easing monetary conditions. We also indicate how the effects of measures taken by central banks can change depending on the current level of financial stress.
