Propaganda and public relations in international politics
Marková, Jindřiška ; Lehmannová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Fireš, Adam (referee)
The target of this thesis is to formulate and defend the statement that there is no clear distinction between the propaganda and public relations methods in the field of international politics. The fundamentals of this thesis represent empirical observations and their subsequent analysis in various case studies. Many of these case studies date back to early history, that's why the corresponding literature was used as source of information. In addition, the nature of propaganda is often connected with miscellaneous affairs of international extent. Its true impact is revealed eventually. To confirm the preliminary thesis there are partial targets and steps stated in the introduction. The first step was to determine own area of definitions, in compliance with the generally accepted standpoints, to which I also often refer. To support my thesis I decided to apply some mathematical processes, and so I imagined the notions as sets according to certain criterion. This way of thinking allowed me to view the notions as non-empty set, equal to the intersection of international politics, propaganda and public relations. An important part of this thesis is the chapter dealing with contemporary literature regarding the issues of propaganda and PR. Various interesting not necessarily historically important case studies of propaganda campaigns represent another partial step confirming the thesis that propaganda and public relations in international relations are not importantly different.

Life events as risk factors of alcohol abuse in women

Dysfunction of Endothelium in Relationship to Experimentally Induced
Černý, Dalibor ; Nachtigal, Petr (advisor) ; Štaud, František (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Rigorous Thesis - Abstract Name: Mgr. Dalibor Černý Year: 2007 Dysfunction of Endothelium in Relationship to Experimentally Induced Anthracycline Drugs' Toxicity Endothelial dysfunction is defined as functional lesion of endothelium, characterized by increased permeability of vessel wall, by imbalance among vasoactive, coagulative and proliferation influencing active substances, in result leading to increased expression of cell adhesion molecules VCAM-1 and ICAM-1, which are considered as standard morphological markers of its progress. Adhesion molecules VCAM-1 and ICAM-1 play an important role in building-up of inflammatory reaction and take part in various pathological stages. They are expressed by endothelial cells, by scavenger cells, macrophages and smooth muscle cells. The aim of this rigorous thesis was to examine whether long-lasting daunorubicin administration leads except of significant changes in heart also to the progress of endothelial dysfunction. Imunohistochemical methods were used to detect the expression of these adhesion molecules. Then, the selected heart parameters like LVEF (left ventriculum eject fraction), FS (fractional shortening) and dP/dtmax index, that means peak...

Auditing of the Supreme Audit Office de lege ferenda
Jančík, Marek ; Boháč, Radim (advisor) ; Vondráčková, Pavlína (referee)
This rigorous thesis (thesis) deals with a legal regulation of the supreme audit institution on our territory. The task of the Supreme Audit Office is to verify whether the public authorities (the bodies executing public authority) manage public resources in accordance with the legal regulation and adequately, economically and effectively. The results of the activities of the Supreme Audit Office are the so-called audit conclusions. In view of the fact that the Supreme Audit Office has not been endowed with executive powers, these results of its activities do not lead directly to remedial action. The Supreme Audit Office provides chiefly feedback on the management of the state authorities to the Parliament of the Czech Republic, government, controlled person or body and also to general public since the audit conclusions are published. By way of its activities it contributes to stability and positive development of the state, therefore it is important to establish a suitable legal framework enabling the supreme audit institution to be endowed with sufficient competence and powers for proper fulfilling its goals. At the beginning of my thesis I am concerned with a classification of the Supreme Audit Office into the system of the control of public administration. Other bodies participating in the...

The role of proteinases-activatable receptor - 2 (PAR-2) in pathogenesis of human disease
Matěj, Radoslav ; Mandys, Václav (advisor) ; Fakan, František (referee) ; Ehrmann, Jiří (referee) ; Rudolf, Emil (referee)
It was presented that one of the pancreatic enzymes, trypsin, modulates many biological processes by acting on specific proteinase-activated receptor 2 (PAR-2). PAR-2 belongs to a family of G protein coupled receptors activated by tethered ligand sequences within the N-terminal, which is made accessible after the site-specific cleavage of the protein. Trypsin activates PAR-2 by the mediation of a unique process inhering in the recognition of the receptor by enzyme, subsequent c1eavage at the specific site ofNH2-terminal and presentation of a new NH2 terminal, which behaves as a tethered ligand. This ligand interacts with the extracellular doma in of receptor molecule. Thus, P AR-2 is a receptor, whose I igand is a physical part of the receptor molecule. This receptor was previously described on norma I as well as ma lignant immunocompetent cells, on endothelial and muscle cells of major as well as minor vessels. Its presence was also immunohistochemically demonstrated on intestinal epithelial cells, epithcl ial cells of exocrine organs, keratinocytes, fibroblasts and other cell types in stomach, small intestine, colon, liver and kidney. PAR-2 is expressed on various cells with a wide spectrum of cellular responses after activation. ln the firs t part of th is work we focused on the role of PAR-2 dUl·ing the...

The access to healthcare for asylum seekers in Italy: disparities between legislation and practice
Rossetti, Elisa ; Štěrbová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Zeitel Bank, Natascha (referee)
Asylum seekers are a socially excluded migrant population, presenting specific healthcare needs, which are often not acknowledged, nor properly addressed by national and European laws. Hailing from areas with poor sanitary attention, exposed to violence during the journey, they arrive to Italy with a high health vulnerability. The aim of this thesis is to find the discrepancies between the legislation providing healthcare access to the asylum seekers, in compliance with the fundamental human rights, and the practical healthcare responses in the Italian context of the North African Emergency (2011-2013), relying on a systematic literature review. The emergency-driven responses to the asylum inflow resulted in a heterogeneous reception and healthcare assistance, as the Italian asylum legislation focuses more on asylum procedures than healthcare, which remains regionally fragmented too. Asylum seekers faced discrimination and barriers in accessing healthcare, mainly due to information, linguistic and bureaucratic difficulties. Therefore, NGOs and associations intervened locally to fill the gap left by the institutional response, with a better focus on the social determinants of health and the importance of social integration as well. After 2013, better reception conditions were formulated and the legislation revised. However, the difference between legislation and practice on the asylum seekers healthcare access constitutes a human rights violation still present nowadays. Clearer approaches should be developed to address the issue uniformly.
