Eating Habits of High School Students

(in English) Aims: The aim of the diploma thesis was to monitor the eating habits of students from chosen high school which is located in Prague. These habits were taken into consideration with regards to social aspects of food and the causes of overweight and obesity. Methods: Qualitative research was used as the default method to determine the objective of the thesis. Based on literature review the survey was created. The respondents subjectively evaluated a set of questions relating to food and eating habits. Results: According to the findings, a major impact on eating habits of high school students has a family in general or household, in which students live. Cooking trend at home plays an important role, even when talking about boom in eating at restaurants and fast foods. Regardless of household income, students are used to really eat most often at home (breakfast and dinner) and at school (lunch). As for eating habits, respondents, from the vast majority, do not pay any attention to this process. And even if the results of the research showed that a large majority of students think they eat healthily, then less than half of them is not satisfied with own weight. Health promotion policy of school-age children in the area of nutrition and physical activities

This thesis deals with the health promotion policy of school-age children in the area of nutrition and physical activities, and identifies the most serious problems related to this field of health policy. It also focuses on the main problems associated with the lifestyle of school-age children in the Czech Republic. Proper eating habits and good relationship to physical activities are formed from an early age, so it is necessary in the terms of health promotion to focus mainly on children and their education to a healthy lifestyle. This creates possibilities to achieve an overall improvement in the health status of population. To fulfill the goals of this thesis, secondary data from documents that are related to the observed problem were used together with primary data from qualitative research, which was conducted by expert interviews. School-age children in the Czech Republic do not comply with the dietary guidelines or recommendations for physical activity proccesed by WHO. Title: The awareness of the nourishement and the eating habits of the older school age children at the chosen primary schools. The theoretical part is intent on problems of eating, on the particular components of the nourishement and explaining of their importance in refering to the specific age of children. Then there are elucidated concepts of boarding with a wiev to the specific needs in the nourishement of the older school age children and described the importance of observing of the boarding habits in connection with some disorders of food intake and the obesity. The aim of the empiric part of this work is to map the pupils' knowledges in the area of the nourishement and get some information about their eating habits and to make a discovery whether there exists an affinity between children's knowledges in the area of the nourishement and the way of their fare and their nutrive preferences. The acquiring of the information was realized through the mediation of an anonymous halfstructured questionaire of the pupils of the 7th - 9th classes at some choosen primary schools. Czech singles Lifestyle with Focus on Eating

Czech Singles Lifestyle with Focus on Eating Kateřina Vondrášová Abstract Thesis deals with the issue of singles lifestyle with particular regard to food and eating. The phenomenon of gender free attitude towards series of activities in the life of singles (in other words the standpoint on the social world and practices that occur in it independently on one's sex/gender) was identified through in-depth semi structural interviews with people, who rank themselves among singles. It appears mainly in the area of relationships with friends, in the sphere of intimate (sexual) relationships, in the area of household keeping and, last but not least, in the attitude towards the food preparation, cooking and eating generally. This phenomenon is tightly related to the phenomenon of self-opening, in other words crossing the border of the private sphere of household and the entrance into the public space not just in the spatial sense but also in the social sense. Singles contribute to the social life and solidarity of society thanks to their everyday strategies - it is an opposite trend than the one which is associated with singles stereotypically. Dining in Kindergartens

The aim of the thesis is to find out how dining is carried out in preschools, what is the organization in various preschools like and how it does contribute to meeting the goals of preschool education. The theoretical part contains the characteristics of goals of preschool educational objectives as they are defined in the Framework educational program for preschool education, educational strategies in preschools, eating and dining possibilities in terms of fulfilling the educational goals, legislative conditions for eating and dining in a kindergarten, etiquette of dining, educating preschool children at it and developing the skills and habits necessary for eating and dining. The practical part contains an analysis of how a kindergarten solves dining habits and the way in which children are led.
Analysis of eating seniors with diabetes mellitus II.type

This thesis deals with the analysis of eating habits of seniors with Diabetes mellitus type 2. Many seniors with Diabetes mellitus type 2 are introduced to a proper diet either through their Doctor or a nutrition therapist. This diabetic diet assists them in maintaining proper blood glucose levels and helps prevent a variety of diabetic complications. Many diabetics, who understand their illness, begin to make changes in their lifestyles that will help them in the future. More thought is put into their lifestyle and how to improve their quality of life. For example, many diabetics become more active, begin to be more diligent with their dietary choices and discover a new meaning of life.
The level of knowledge about health issues for students at the secondary school adolescents

This thesis deals with the evaluation of knowledge of healthy lifestyle and eating habits of students in adolescent schools in Czech Budejovice. The first part is the processed literature review, which aims to define health and related key words. It is based on the literature and scientific publications which are listed in the bibliography & was drawn to show clear characteristics of a healthy lifestyle and its problems especially during adolescence. The empirical part deals with the evaluation of the knowledge level of health and eating habits of adolescents in the locality. Based on the cooperation of respondents Gymnasia involved a questionnaire survey and testing a total of 150 students. Based on the obtained data drawn, clear presentation of the results were to determine the level of knowledge about health issues among adolescent students at school and evaluate their eating habits. It was also verified whether the level of knowledge about health issues among adolescents reflected in their eating habits.
The eating habits of primary school pupils

The bachelor thesis deals with the eating habits of a group of 50 pupils of 9th grade in the age of 14-15 of primary school of John Amos Comenius in Blatná. Detects eating habits and food preferences of the basic questionnaire. Energy intake of 30 pupils of 9th grade was determined weekly processing of their diet. The aim of this work was as accurately as possible to find out how puberty in the age of 14-15 currently eat and what their caloric intake throughout the week is. The results of the survey are entered in the tables and food preferences graphically illustrated in the practical part. At the weekly menus were the values entered in the tables and added value of BMI. The data show that boys or girls are below the recommended nutritional values.
Selected aspects of lifestyle of clients in homes for the elderly

This thesis is focused on issues concerning certain aspects of lifestyle, diet and physical activity of seniors. The theoretical part of the work addresses basic data related to the age and aging. The practical part describes the methodological aspects of the research process. The research is based on the comparison of qualitative and quantitative methods.Two polls were held with 10 elderly clients interviewed at each. The aim of the study was to determine whether the selected aspects of lifestyle had changed as a result of residence in the facility - the retirement home. The research implies that medical condition, including perceiving of diet as part of the treatment, is accepted as a reason why to change the lifestyle

The aim is to investigate the possibility of food for children, the use of cafeterias, vending machines and determine the quality of the food.
