Reflection of “otherness” in international relations
Kvašňák, Daniel ; Rolenc, Jan Martin (advisor) ; Doležal, Tomáš (referee)
The current migration crisis has put significant strain on the European Union and its member states. Immigration has always been a contentious issue in societies, most often facing significant opposition. By drawing on postmodern theories of international relations and Discourse Theory, this paper analyses how immigration is being increasingly securitized by the European Union and its member states along with what makes securitization the hegemonic discourse. This is done primarily with reference to identity construction through the framing of the Other, in this case the migrant, as an unwanted and externalized element. Furthermore, the paper details how the framing of the migrant as a threat to the internal security of a country strenghtend identity politics across Europe. Finally, using the Brexit campaign in the UK, the paper analyzes how the rise in identity politics in turn raises the possibility of a successful fusion of the anti-immigration discourse with the anti-EU discourse through the exploiting of societal unease.

Lease reporting according to IFRS
Hučíková, Julie ; Novotný, Jan (advisor) ; Pelák, Jiří (referee)
In the final thesis I deal with problems of lease reporting according to effective framework of International Financing and Reporting Standards. In the thesis, which is divided into theoretical and practical part, I focus on impacts of leasing transactions primarily on the lessee side. In the theoretical part of thesis that is divided into three subchapters I summarize facts about leasing. The first two subchapters are based on standard IAS 17. I devote the third subchapter to preparation of new standard, which should replace IAS 17. The aim of the practical part of the thesis is to find out which way the European airlines use to finance their aircraft, I focus especially on using of both types of leasing. Therefore in the second part of the thesis I analyze annual reports of European aircrafts and examine how much these airlines exploit the possibility to finance the aircraft by leasing and how they report it in their annual reports.

The theoretical framework offer insight into 1) power politics and state interest, 2) negotiation as a method to manage external relations, 3) the existing framework in which the actors try to advance their agenda and 4) the various internal and external influences on state behavior.

Development of photic entrainment of the circadian clock of the rat during early postnatal ontogenesis
Matějů, Kristýna ; Sumová, Alena (advisor) ; Höschl, Cyril (referee) ; Langmeier, Miloš (referee) ; Nevšímalová, Soňa (referee)
In most organisms, behavioral and physiological events oscillate with period ± 24 h, i.e. exhibit circadian rhythms. In mammals, circadian rhythms are generated by circadian clock within the suprachiasmatic nuclei of the hypothalamus (SCN). Light entrains circadian rhythms to the 24 h period of solar day. Information about light is conveyed from the retina to the SCN and induces expression of clock genes Period1 (Per1) and Period2 (Per2) that represent photosensitive parts of molecular circadian clockwork within SCN. Light sensitivity of Per1 and Per2 within SCN is temporally restricted to the subjective night phase. In addition, daily profiles of clock gene expression within SCN are modulated by daylenght, i. e. the photoperiod. The aim of our study was to elucidate how the mechanism of photic entrainment of the rat circadian clock develops during prenatal and early postnatal ontogenesis. Our results demonstrate that maternal circadian system provides information about external light to the fetal and early postnatal circadian clock. Circadian clock within the SCN of rat pups is light sensitive already at the first postnatal day. Mechanism gating the light sensitivity is present at postnatal day 3 and gradually maturates until postnatal day 10. The data suggest that the developing retina is responsive to...

Game of Social Status
Bečková, Tereza ; Špecián, Petr (advisor) ; Chytilová, Helena (referee)
This thesis points out that economic agents preferences can be dependent on the future utility and that economic agents can achieve higher social status and prestige with the conspicuous demonstrative consumption. I label this behavior as the game of social status. Some companies even adjust their production to this phenomenon as they produce quiet and loud goods or as they lower their production. This thesis also suggests that the conspicuous demonstrative consumption and positional externalities may be affected by race, age or social interactions. It also shows that these phenomena are not rich countries exclusive but they also appear in poor countries of Asian and African continent. Positional externalities can be theoretically removed by the nonexistence of volatility in fashion trends, by the application Coase theorem or by law restrictions and taxation of the incomes or consumption.

Šestý nosorožec: taxonomické zhodnocení kriticky ohroženého severního tuponosého nosorožce
ROBOVSKÝ, Jan
The two forms of white rhinoceros; northern and southern, have had contrasting conservation histories. The Northern form, once fairly numerous is now critically endangered, while the southern form has recovered from a few individuals to a population of a few thousand. Since their last taxonomic assessment over three decades ago, new material and analytical techniques have become available, necessitating a review of available information and re-assessment of the taxonomy.Dental morphology and cranial anatomy clearly diagnosed the southern and northern forms. The differentia ion was well supported by dental metrics, cranial growth and craniometry, and corresponded with differences in post-cranial skeleton, external measurements and external features. No distinctive differences were found in the limited descriptions of their behavior and ecology. Fossil history indicated the antiquity of the genus, dating back at least to early Pliocene and evolution into a number of diagnosable forms. The fossil skulls examined fell outside the two extant forms in the craniometric analysis. Gene

Mapping and description of treatment interventions in Apolinar treatment facility with focus on metamphetamine users
Hetzerová, Lucie ; Gabrhelík, Roman (advisor) ; Vacek, Jaroslav (referee)
The aim of this work was to map the treatment interventions with woman ward block of the Clinic of addictology - Apolinář, with the focus on users of methamphetamine. The topic of this work was chosen based on the absence of researches with this issue. Literature dealing with this issue in our country is unfortunately sporadic and therefore based on the general literature on this topic. The representative number of patients with methamphetamine addiction wasn't ensured during the research. The permission by the Ethical Committee would be needed as well. Due to the time limitation the most effective way was to choose the employees of the Clinic of addictology - Apolinar, who have experience with these patients. The final research had 5 respondents. The research included the interviews with the employees and was supported also by analysis of documentation and observation of researcher during her internship. Based on the research it was found that methamphetamine-dependent patients are young, immature, creative and impulsive, with external motivation and dissocial behavior. These are mostly patients who have developed basic structures and patterns of life. Methamphetamine- dependent patients can also be aggressive, destructive and ruthless. They do not know the rules of proper conduct or common...
