RDFa is a set of extensions to XHTML which allows to annotate XHTML markup with semantics. Because XHTML does not o er much semantic annotation potential itself, the RDFa language was proposed to relieve this shortage by combining XHTML and semantic web technologies. While semantics is being described by ontologies, the XHTML documents are linked to ontologies concepts by RDFa extensions. In the present work I tried to create and describe an editor that could make RDFa annotation easier. In addition to direct annotation with context attributes hints it provides ontology imports with drag&drop items insertion and extracted RDF triples preview.

Profiler jazyka C#

The C# programming language provides powerful language features and it is very easy to get to learn, as well. Together with .NET Framework it allows programmers to develop applications quickly and comfortably. However, using this language does not still guarantee creation of an effective programme. The purpose of this work is to develop a profiler measuring elapsed time and consumed memory of the chosen statements. The profiler application is built with heavy usage of the Code Toolkit library which was created as part of this work, as well. This library provides facilities for parsing C# source code into an object model representation, modification and saving it back to the source files. The library can be re-used in the development of the various tools processing source code of the C# language.

Pascal interpreter

Work has to enlarge student's knowledge about design and programming of interpreters. Student will use advanced programming techniques and tools commonly used in compilers. Target of work is creating interpreter that process subset of Pascal programming language. Its design is object oriented and easily extensible. Goal of this work is create platform for future development. Student will study existing virtual machines used in other interpreters and create own simple virtual machine and instruction set.

HTML data extraction

Goals of this work are design and implementation of an application which will allow efective data extraction from HTML pages. Emphasis is put on maximal utilization of existing XML technologies. Resulting application is based on XQuery language, which is extended by options allowing to work with web pages and combines it with other technologies for searching for relevant parts in free text. At the same time, it allows the usage of XSLT language for transformation of data into the required form. Application contains command-line, graphical and server interface, which is accompanied by user extension for Mozilla Firefox 3 web browser. Command-line interface allows the batch processing of queries whereas the graphical interface o ers user friendly way of creating queries. Server interface then brings the possibility of using application as a part of other applications and solutions.

Translation of a German Professional Text Used at University Level Foreign Language Teaching

Nowadays knowing professional language is an essential part of professional success and career growth for university graduates majoring in non-philological studies. The aim of this dissertation is to contribute to further enhancement and efficiency of foreign language teaching at university level. Based on the theoretical background and confirmation of hypotheses, the paper describes and explains why it is appropriate to include, in addition to training of basic language skills (passive: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, active: speaking and writing) an extra fifth skill: translating into the mother tongue. Undoubtedly, the translating skill helps to improve receptive and productive skills necessary for working with academic text and to facilitate better use of information sources; at the same time, this skill is desirable in corporate practice and in academia. This paper deals with methods of foreign language teaching from both diachronic and synchronous perspectives, with emphasis on the application of translation. It analyses the role of translation in teaching using a specific example; it provides analysis of professional style and some features of professional text; it justifies the importance of translation into the mother tongue; it deals with selected problems of the theory, practice and didactics of translation. The research part is based on quantitative and qualitative analysis of students' translations. It confirms the hypotheses that students have difficulty in translating into the mother tongue and in using various sources of information, and that guidance on how to proceed in translating has a positive influence on them. The research part is followed by some suggestions for specific methodologies and exercises that may be used to integrate translating into professional language teaching at university level, namely for graduates majoring in non-philological studies. The suggestions are based on the author's research results; naturally, they are focused on eliminating possible inaccuracies and mistakes, and also on developing desirable skills.

Interactive map resources on the Internet

The objective of this thesis gives an overview of available technologies used to work with map resources on the Internet. The thesis also contains overview of different input data formats and procedures for obtaining maps. Practical part is focused on designing and implementing web applications using map resources, puts the emphasis on the modularity and simplicity of data entry and data. The implementation uses the PHP scripting language, MySQL database and the additional functions uses Ajax technology and JavaScript language.

Implementation of digital sound synthesizer in VST technology

This thesis is focused on synthesis of audio signals and algorithm implementation by the help of technology designed for real-time processing. Analyzing individual methods of sound synthesis, the MIDI communication protocol and procedure of real-time signal processing. It is developed an appropriate software simulation ,on ground of studying these aspects, implemented by using C++ language. A result of this work is sound generator supporting MIDI protocol as a plug-in module designed for Windows platforms.

Development of application for simulation of physicals effects

The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to create an educational system for more effective teaching physical phenomena and the replacement of older systems used. Whole project is composed of several parts. At the begining, the theoretical information are shown on website. Next is a simulation of physical phenomena and in conclusion, how the phenomena looks like in a real situation is presented. Animations for simulations are created in Blender, using programming language Phyton.

Tense in Czech written texts of the Czech deaf

The thesis deals with the ways tense is expressed in written Czech texts of the Czech deaf. It draws on several foreign studies and, more specifically, the findings of Racková (1996) and Macurová (2003), trying to provide additions and new interpretations resulting from an analysis of both new and old data. The description and analysis of the written texts is primarily focused on possible interference from the Czech sign language with its characteristic lexical signals of tense and its use of time frames. The thesis has two major parts, the first of which is more theoretical, with its focal point on concepts of time and tense, and ways of expressing time both in spoken and sign languages. The second part, representing the core of the thesis, is devoted to an analysis of the text written by the Czech deaf. The findings based on the data have been verified by an additional probe, in which deaf respondents provided translations of several sentences from the Czech sign language into written Czech.
