The Influence of Foreign Vending Servers on the Czech Market
Zrůst, Daniel ; Zeman, Jiří (advisor) ; Filipová, Alena (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the position of foreign vending servers (FVS) on the Czech market. The thesis is divided into two parts. Theoretical part deals with consumer behavior in general. There are briefly described the basic motivating psychological theories, influence of cultural and social predispositions. The buying decision-making process is also scrutinized. The second part of theory is focusing on consumer behavior in online environment and on basic terms concerning e-commerce. Practical part deals with definition of "Czech market". The following part of the text describes development of online shopping in the Czech Republic and typical shopper's profile. Based on publicly available data the comparison between FSV's position on the Czech and market of European Union is presented. The last part of the thesis reflects own online survey which proved or disproved each of 7 stated hypotheses. Over 350 respondents had filled in the questionnaire. The profile of FSV users, their motivation (demotivation) to a purchase, long-time experience, the most popular goods and servers are also broadly described.

The analysis of dependence of the material deprivation of the households in the Czech Republic on the selected indicators
Cafourková, Magdalena ; Řezanková, Hana (advisor) ; Pecáková, Iva (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to analyse the material deprivation of the households with regard to the selected indicators, i.e. the costs that the household spends on housing, a region where the household is located, the number of the members and the dependent children in the household, age and sex of a head of the household, and economic activity and education level of the members of the household. The thesis aims not only to prove the dependence among the selected indicators but also to quantify this dependence by using the odds ratio. The individual effect of all variables was proven except of the one related to the number of the dependent children. It was also demonstrated that the factors constituting a threat for the households by a material deprivation rate vary by the different age groups. However, it can be concluded that across all the age groups, the material deprivation rate is determined by the sex of a head of the household, education level of the members of the household, and the costs that the household spends on housing.

Ancient-DNA analysis of teeth and skeletal remains with utilization of miniSTR loci.
Kvítková, Dana ; Brouček, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Dobisíková, Miluše (referee)
During the last twenty years, immense progress occurred in the area of analysis of DNA extracted from historical material. Considering the common level of preservation of tissue material, this analysis is usually executed on samples procured from bones and teeth. The analysis of soft mummified tissue is possible only in rare cases. Limiting factor of these analyses is a high degree of degradation and small amount of DNA extractable from this kind of material. First researches concentrated only on short sections of mainly mitochondrial DNA. Today, the analysis of the complete mitochondrial genome of both contemporary and extinct organisms was made possible. In case of analyses conducted on human remains, sections of nuclear DNA are far more valuable, because they can reveal information including not only subject's sex, but also possible kinship between subjects found e.g. in the same grave. Fundamental component of the whole analysis is the process of extracting DNA from cells. Probably every laboratory working with historical DNA uses a differently modified extract protocol. The main requirement for methods of extraction is to secure enough DNA with such a level of purity that would allow its use for following steps of the analysis. Taking in consideration high fragmentation of DNA, it is necessary...

The main objective of this diploma work is to enquire and describe the effect of culture and cultural background on human beings, particularly in the working life. The crux of this work is to analyze the themes which are closely connected to intercultural communication, dimensions of culture and international human resources management. As a whole these components show the necessity of recognition of the differences among people who stem from diverse cultures. Recognition of the diversity is the basic assumption for subsequent adoption of necessary knowledge and skills, which should lead to better mutual understanding and also to more efficient work. The diploma work results in many definitions and proves of a number of statements, which are closely connected to the issues mentioned.

Existencial Issnes in Russian Literature of 19th - 20th centuries
Vojtková, Natella ; Hlaváček, Antonín (referee) ; Hříbková, Radka (advisor)
One of the major themes in the history of literature is looking for ways of solving the existential questions. The work is concerned with the ways of depicting madness in literary works at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, the reasons of such a common usage of the motif of madness in Russian literature and the goals that are consequently achieved by the authors. The thesis is mainly focused on the works of the major writers of Russian literature of that period, such as Sologub, Garshin, Andreyev and Chekhov. The thesis is divided into five chapters; in some cases further subdivision is used. The aim of the first chapter is mainly to discuss the ways of showing madness and "otherness" in solving the existential issues. The author of the thesis comments on the types of "madness" in literary works, the means of its depicting, its reasons and consequences. In the second chapter the roots and historical overview of the ways of using the theme of madness are presented and discussed with reference to some literary works. It is proved that there existed a specific type of a hero, who confronted not only the whole world, but also himself. The third chapter is devoted to presenting and analyzing the major works of th th 18 - 19 century, where a motif of madness, after its unfolding...

On quantile optimization problem with censored data
Volf, Petr
In the framework of stochastic optimization the criterion based on selected quantiles is considered. Further, stochastic characteristics are estimated from censored data. Therefore, certain theoretical results concerning estimators of distribution function and quantiles under censoring are recalled and utilized to prove consistency of solution based on estimates. Behavior of solutions for finite data sizes is studied with the aid of randomly generated example.

Effect of Lipophilicity of Substrates and Surfactants on the Efficiency of Micellar Hydrolysis of p-N-nitrofenylalkanoates with Alkylpyridinium Bromides
Běhávková, Vendula ; Vachek, Josef (referee) ; Doležal, Pavel (advisor)
Rigorosum Thesis 2010, Vendula Běhávková Abstract The subject of this work was to verify if a homologous series of N-alkylpyridinium substances and p-nitrophenylcarbonates possess the reciprocal influence of the length of alkyl chains on the rate of hydrolytic reaction. In a series of N-alkylpyridinium substances was tested pyridinium bromide with alkyl chain lengths of C10, 12, 14, 16 and C18. These surfactants were tested with p-nitrophenyl acetate, -butyrate, -caprylate, -caprate, -laurate, -myristate, -palmitate and-stearate. The highest values throughout the group results were achieved through a combination of p-nitrophenyl-caprate and octadecylpyridinium bromide. 5x10-3 M concentration of surfactant was able to accelerate the decomposition of p-nitrophenyl-caprate 120 times and almost reached the rate constant 0.0878 sec-1 , which corresponds to the half-life is approximately 8 seconds. octadecylpyridiniumbromide and hexadecylpyridinium bromide were proved as successful micellar catalysts. The best hydrolysable substrates were medium-length alkylated.
