Lobbying in the EU, focusing on the 1st Pillars

Tato diplomová práce popisuje současný stav lobbování v Evropské unii. Cílem práce je nalézt a popsat cesty, které zájmové skupiny mohou využít na podporu jejich postoje k problému. První část práce je teoretická a je zaměřena na definici lobbování, jeho legitimitu a úlohu, kterou hraje v rozhodovacím procesu EU. Stručně zmíněna je historie lobbování a zájmových skupin na evropské úrovni, s důrazem na reprezentaci obchodních zájmů. Dále jsou představeny hlavní instituce Evropské unie, protože porozumění jejich rozdílům je klíčové pro posouzení jejich významu pro lobbování. Následně jsou popsány rozdíly v lobbování dle institucí, se souhrnným srovnáním institucí podle teorie přístupu. Druhá část práce ukazuje, jak lobbování může ovlivnit politiku na případové studii týkající se trhu s banány v Evropě. Nejprve je popsána situace na trhu s banány, s důrazem na producenty a dovozce. Poté je uveden vývoj legislativy pro jednotný evropský trh s banány spolu se změnami, které byly učiněny v souladu s rozhodnutími WTO. Následně jsou analyzovány zájmy a lobbistické aktivity subjektů, kterých se spor týkal. Zhodnocení výsledků strategií, které je možno učinit s ohledem na to, že spor není ještě uzavřený, tvoří závěrečnou část práce.

Change Management in an Organization

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the management of changes in a selected business organization. The literary survey deals with changes and their types, steps through which changes are implemented, why people dislike changes, what are the main barriers to changes and what is business re-engineering. Next follows a characteristics and historic development of the organization EXTE SPOJ s.r.o., where the analytical part of this work was performed. Another part of this work involves the analysis of external and internal environments, where the STEP analyses was implemented, complemented with dissection of the financial, marketing and person aspects. Finally, a SWOT analysis dealing with strong and weak aspects, as well as opportunities and risks of the company, has also been included. Another part of the thesis is a directed discussion with the manager representing the company. In the next chapter, all the analyses have been evaluated and a time table of changes has been suggested. The thesis is concluded with 8 steps summarizing proposed changes, which should improve the approval rate of the customers and should eventually help the company in its future development.

The construction of a vacuum tube amplifier

The presented thesis describes the construction of a tube amplifier in both theoretical and practical ways. The aim of this work was to construct a functional tube amplifier with an output of at least 2 x 20 W. The first part of the study describes the theoretical background of tube amplifiers which are recognized for their characteristic sound. Wiring diagrams for each block and other functional blocks of the amplifier, such as headphones or VU meter connections, are discussed. The last part of the thesis focuses on the actual realization of the tube amplifier.

Recent detections of the YORP effect and their further possibilities

Radiation forces and torques can, on a long term, modify translational and rotational motion of small asteroids and meteoroids. In this thesis I focuse on the radiation torques dubbed the Yarkovsky-O'Keefe-Radzievskii-Paddack (YORP) effect. In particular, my principal goal was to analyse available photometric database of small asteroids and suggest candidate objects for which the YORP effect could be directly detected during the next few years. The structure of the thesis is as follows: (i) in the Introduction I discuss general role of radiation forces and torques in the motion of small bodies in the Solar system, (ii) next, in Section 2, I introduce observation methods for determination of the rotation state of asteroids and the way how YORP may exhibit itself in such measurements, and (iii) finally, in Section 3, I present few candidates for the YORP effect detection. Based on this selection procedure, I obtained ligthcurves of a small near-Earth asteroid (3554) Amun from February till April 2011. These observations were performed using the 65cm telescope of the Astronomical Institute of Charles University located at Ondrejov observatory. Differences in voting in the Parliament of the Czech Republic: senators and their relation to political parties

Author's thesis is concerned with differences between voting of parliamentary party groups within both chambers of Czech Parliament, Chamber of Deputies and Senate. It primarily focuses on senators and their relation to their respective parties. Author articulates three main hypothesis which he is trying to verify. Firstly, he anticipates senators to be less bounded to their parties than deputies. Secondly, he suggests that parliamentary party groups in both chambers become more united when it comes to more important voting. Lastly, the author considers the number of seats of parties in government in the Senate has no influence on either stability or legislative initiatives of the government. The theoretical part briefly describes Parliament of the Czech Republic, its composition, the role of the chambers and the legislative process. It also introduces outcomes of research made by Sociological Institute of Academy of Science of the Czech Republic in Parliament aimed at examining the role of deputies and senators from their own perspective. Preparedness of the Czech Republic to Accept the Euro

The present work deals with an evaluation of the position of the Czech Republic in terms of it's preparedness to accept the euro currency. The first part describes monetary union in general. The conditions of joining to the euro area are described, as well the criteria of OCA with an application on the euro area and also a short history of european monetary union are defined. The second part is focused on the Czech Republic. Nominal and real convergent criteria are evaluated in terms of the Czech Republic. The work attend also the present situation of global financial crises.

Strukturální nezaměstnanost v regionu Frýdek-Místek a způsoby jejího řešení

Cílem této bakalářské práce je přiblížit vývoj nezaměstnanosti v Moravskoslezském kraji a zhodnotit vliv zahraniční investice Hyundai na trh práce v kraji. První část práce je zaměřena na vysvětlení pojmů týkajících se trhu práce, jako je nezaměstnanost, její druhy, příčiny a způsoby měření. Dále jsou zde popsány jednotlivé ekonomické teorie zabývající se vysvětlením nezaměstnanosti. Ve druhé části práce je popsána demografická a ekonomická situace v kraji a vývoj nezaměstnanosti od roku 1989 do současnosti. Dále je zde popsána forma státní podpory poskytnutá společnosti Hyundai. Hlavní část je věnována vlivu investice na strukturální nezaměstnanost v kraji.

Chances Made by Economic Transformation in the Czech Republic and Hungary

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na výchozí politicko-ekonomické podmínky československé (později české) a maďarské ekonomiky, které hrály významnou úlohu v jedinečném a neopakovatelném procesu transformace. S pomocí známého popisu socialistického a kapitalistického hospodářství od Janose Kornaiho, jsou analyzovány jak podobné, tak rozdílné podmínky v obou zemích před rokem 1989. Součástí první kapitoly je poukázání na debaty, které se v obou zemích odehrávaly, zejména s ohledem na tzv. ?šokovou terapii? (uplatněnou spíše v ČR) a tzv. ?gradualismus? (který se uplatnil v Maďarsku), dále pak stručný nástin původní myšlenky liberalismu v pojetí Ludwiga von Misese. Kapitola druhá pojednává o konkrétní makroekonomické analýze raných fází transformace, transformačním poklesu (vysvětleném pomocí Schumpeterovy teorie špatných investic), transformačních ?polštářích?, dále pak o rozdílných metodách privatizace. Poněkud váhavá a nedostatečná mezinárodní finanční pomoc zemím SVE ze strany ES v raných dobách transformačního procesu je pojítkem druhé a třetí kapitoly, ve je také blíže popsána značná nepřipravenost ES na politický vývoj událostí v 90. letech v zemích SVE a zdlouhavá přístupová jednání kandidátských zemí rezultující v přijetí do EU roku 2004. Čtvrtá a poslední kapitola se pokouší prokázat, byť pomocí mnohdy kritizovaných a nedokonalých multikriteriálních hodnocení, že je možno pozorovat jistý pozitivní vývoj v kvalitě právního, institucionálního a ekonomického rámce v ČR a Maďarsku, coby důsledek nutné implementace evropských právních norem. S odkazem na Světovou ročenku konkurenceschopnosti a Zprávu o globální konkurenceschopnosti naznačuji hlavní výzvy, pokroky a nedostatky v ekonomikách ČR a Maďarska.
