Pokluda, Tomáš ; Buršík, Martin (referee) ; Řezníček, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the problem of levelling of a profile by ultrasound after printing thick layer pastes and on electrical resistance and geometrical dimensions changes. It describes a creation of hybrid integrated circuits, thick film technology and the screen printing method. It also includes basics of fluid physics, basics of fluid rheology, and description of principles of the used ultrasound transducer. Records of the levelling measurements are presented through the use of photographs, comments, tables and graphs.

Coupling and speed of convergence of discrete MCMC algorithms.
Kalaš, Martin ; Prokešová, Michaela (advisor) ; Dvořák, Jiří (referee)
Convergence of the marginal distribution of a Markov chain to its stationary distribution is an essential property of this model with many applications in different fields of modern mathematics. Such typical applications are for example the Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithms, which are useful for sampling from complicated probability distributions. A crucial point for usefulness of such algorithms is the so called mixing time of corresponding Markov chain, i.e. the number of steps the chain has to make for the difference between its current marginal distribution and stationary distribution to be sufficiently small. The main goal of this thesis is to describe a method for estimation of the mixing time based on a probability technique called coupling. In the first part we collect some definitions and propositions to show how the method works. Later the method is demonstrated on several traditional examples of Markov chains including e.g. random walk on a graph. In the end we study Metropolis chain on the set of proper colorings of a graph as a specific example of MCMC algorithm and show how to estimate its mixing time.

Software for Traffic Monitoring
Tesař, Filip ; Zahrádka, Jiří (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deals with detection and tracking of moving objects in video sequences. The aim of this work is design and implementation of an application, which uses video sequence capturing car traffic to acquire statistical data about each vehicle, such as its speed estimate and determination of its lane. The proposed application uses background subtraction method 'Mixture of Gaussians' and enables monitoring of multiple locations at the same time using independent cameras. The output data are saved into database and users are allowed to display statistics in graphs through a simple web interface.

Nová metoda umožňuje zefektivnit proces analýzy a porovnávání alternativních investic a přesněji zpracovat velký objem informací. Ve výsledku tak bude zmenšen počet prvků množiny nejvhodnějších alternativních investic na základě hierarchie parametrů stanovených investorem.

Segmentation of Bones in 3D CT Images
Krčah, Marcel ; Matas, Jiří (advisor) ; Horáček, Jan (referee)
Accurate and automatic segmentation techniques that do not require any explicit prior model have been of high interest in the medical community. We propose a fully-automatic method for segmenting the femur from 3D Computed Tomography scans, based on the graph-cut segmentation framework and the bone boundary enhancement filter analyzing second-order local structures. The presented algorithm is evaluated in large-scale experiments, conducted on 197 CT volumes, and compared to other three automatic bone segmentation methods. Out of the four tested approaches, the proposed algorithm achieved most accurate results and segmented the femur correctly in 81% of the cases.

Poetika deaf and dieing in traditional and presently Czech culture
SRPKOVÁ, Zdeňka
Death is regarded as the end of the life cycle of any living being, including humans. Death has still been made a taboo topic of a regular conversation. Understanding the finiteness of death in this context is differently perceived in different cultures and in different periods of society development. Czech culture as a part of the Central European civilization area has its specifics in understanding the death issue, which is reflected in all varieties of artistic creations. Therefore, the objective of this thesis was to determine the attitude of a selected population sample to the death issue from the ethical point of view, and if the artistic expression of death influences this point of view. Another goal of this thesis is to find out if people think about death, which causes their thoughts depressive, or if they consider death an integral part of life concerning all of us. The thesis consists of two parts {--} theoretical and practical. In the practical part, the method of quantitative research, the interrogation method using the questionnaire technique was applied. The data obtained from the questionnaires were evaluated and made into graphs. The results show that the hypothesis 1: ``I do not think of death, when death comes, it will be present. I would feel depressed thinking of anything like that{\crqq} was not confirmed. On the contrary, the hypothesis 2: ``Death is a matter of logic, accompanying life, and I have been trying to cope with this fact both in the case of my loved ones and my case{\crqq} was confirmed. After the analysis of the obtained data, the hypothesis 3: ``I have encountered a death expression in a work of art and I felt deeply touched{\crqq} was only partially confirmed. The respondents claimed that they had encountered such a work of art but left untouched, because they considered the expression of death only a part of the work, which also confirms the hypothesis 4: ``I consider an artistic expression of death as a part of the work, a mere intent of a writer or and artist, I am not concerned at all. The thesis could be used as an instrument to inform the general public and professionals on the impact of artistic creation on the view of a certain population sample on the death and dying issue.

Contribution of children nurse{\crq}s work to community nursing both within the Czech Republic and abroad
PĚTIVLASOVÁ, Alena
My dissertation is aimed at the following questions: System of children care, organization of health-care policy in the Czech Republic, competencies and abilities to children care, document Health for Everybody in 21st Century, community nursing, nurse interventions in particular age categories, and my own research proceedings. The research section of the work contains both quantitative and qualitative research procedures. The data were collected of a questionnaire and semi-structured interview. The examined set of a qualitative research consisted of 9 respondents {--} 5 nurses and 4 medical practitioners for children and youth. The quantitative data were collected with an interview method. The questionnaires were designed for the unprofessional public {--} parents of children who are up to 18. The examined set of the questionnaire research consisted of 73 respondents (100%). The research proceeded from mid June 2008 to the end of July 2008 and its results have been processed into category tables and graphs in the program of Microsoft Office Excel 2007. I especially try to find the opinion of children nurses and children medical practitioners on introduction of a community children nurse in the Czech Republic and specify the functions that a community children nurse can perform in the Czech Republic when working with children community. I also try to find locations at which the community children nurse could work, and obstacles hampering to establish this new working position within the Czech Republic. Last but not least, I am interested in the public interest in the nurse{\crq}s affect to health protection and care for children. So far, there has not been a community nurse position established as an independent community professional in health protection and care for children within the Czech Republic. However, in other countries, community nurses work in the state interest and they form a part of the public health-care system. They are rewarded for their work, which is highly appreciated, from the public budget. Development of the community health-care is a WHO priority, and it has already established its firm position in the Czech health-care conception. As the main advantage of introduction of a community nurse I consider the fact, that both children and parents would have a better chance to use a wider variety of health-care services at school, in their household or at the doctor{\crq}s consulting room. Community nurse{\crq}s activities could help to inform families and to improve the health-care edification level. They could also assist the families that need highly intensive health and social care. Because of independent work of community nurses, nurse{\crq}s profession would become more attractive and nurse{\crq}s social position would improve.

Expectations of mothers hospitalized at childbed ward, in newborn-care area
KÁLALOVÁ, Andrea
Bachelor{\crq}s thesis entitled ``Expectations of mothers hospitalized in the maternity ward in the field of newborn care{\crqq} has a research nature. The work is divided into two parts {--} a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part has seven main chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the psychomotor development of the newborn. The second chapter is devoted to newborn care in the labour ward. The third and fourth chapters are devoted to nursing care in the newborn ward and to the needs of a newborn. The fifth and sixth chapters are devoted to breastfeeding and formula milk. The last chapter is devoted to discharge and care at home. The practical part is devoted to research. The aim of the work was to map out expectations of mothers hospitalized in the maternity ward in the field of newborn care and to find out the level of satisfaction with the nursing care of the newborn among mothers after childbirth. In order to prove or reject the hypotheses, I used a questionnaire with 16 questions. 115 questionnaires were handed out, 105 were returned. The rate of return was 91%. The results were translated in to graphs. The sample for the questionnaire research consisted of mothers on the third day after childbirth hospitalized under the rooming-in system; there were 100 mothers in the end sample. In the first hypothesis I presumed that mothers expect to gain basic information {--}especially practical - on providing basic needs in the care of the newborn. On the basis of processing the data obtained it was found that mothers prefer individual theoretical discussions with practical examples. The first hypothesis was therefore rejected. In the second hypothesis I presumed that mothers are satisfied with the provided nursing care of the newborn. The second hypothesis was proven; mothers are satisfied with nursing care provided. I would like to inform the nurses in the newborn ward about the results of my research.
