Intelligent Control Methods in Automation of Process of Construction Machines Control
Vaverka, Michal ; Škopán, Miroslav (advisor)
This work deals with the possibility of use of intelligent methods in construction machines control. These methods are based on GPS in combination with using laser and ultrasonic technology. There is in detail described especially control by robotic total station and 3D control, which includes digital model of construction site. The new trends of control are especially applied on the vibratory rollers. There are taken into consideration: achievement of sufficient degree of compaction on the basis of on-line information about conditions of subsoil.

Diagnosis of metallic materials
Buday, Matej ; Šedivá, Soňa (referee) ; Bejček, Ludvík (advisor)
This thesis deals with non-destructive testing (NDT). It Describes two basic thermographic methods, lock-in and pulse thermography. Different types of measurements using Fluke Ti55, points to the possibility of applying these methods in practice. Pulse thermography issue is a substantial part of this work, due to its good applicability. Also, it compares visual testing methods (VIS) and pulse thermography due to measurement with die-casting alloy AC-AlSi9Cu3 (Fe).
Non-destructive inspection methods of aircraft selected parts
Kníř, Jakub ; Třetina, Karel (referee) ; Trefilová, Helena (advisor)
Non-destructive testing (NDT) is a broad scientific field. This bachelor thesis provides an insight into NDT’s methods. It can’t embrace the whole field in any case because it’s needed to have knowledge from variety of other scientific fields in order to understand NDT completely. This thesis outlines basic testing methods and their usage for particular components of aircrafts. The thesis also includes a list of Czech and European standards relevant to the topic.
Diagnostics of ceiling structures - possibilities of using GPR
Resl, Jaroslav ; Heřmánková, Věra (referee) ; Anton, Ondřej (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the overview of the diagnostic methods for engineering surveys. The distribution of ceiling structures according to various parameters is described. The theoretical part then provides an analysis of diagnostic methods for the ceiling structures in more detail. It includes a description of the operating principles of GPR. The practical part explains the construction and technical survey of ceiling structures using ground penetrating radar as well as measuring on a physical model. Practical measurement is focused on the use and limitations of the radar.
Challenges for experimental methods in safeguarding and sustainability of architectural heritage
Drdácký, Miloš
The paper shortly presents typical challenges related to experimental methods and numerical simulation applied in conservation science. The main areas include proof load testing of historic structures or their replicas, material and structural health investigation and assessment of material characteristics.
Structural Health Monitoring in aerospace and civil engineering supported with two ultrasonic NDT methods - AE and NEWS
Převorovský, Zdeněk ; Krofta, Josef ; Farová, Zuzana ; Chlada, Milan
Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) becomes today an important technology improving reliability and safety of aeronautical and civil structures. Combining of two ultrasonic NDT methods - Acoustic Emission (AE) with Nonlinear Elastic Wave Spectroscopy (NEWS) - in SHM systems brings many advantages. AE enables real-time detection and localization of initiation and progression under operational stimulations, and NEWS methods provide retrieval of structural faults and complete information on AE sources. Examples of a complex SHM system design for critical parts of both aircraft and building roofs are discussed in this paper. The NEWS pseudo-tomography procedure, based on Time Reversal Mirrors (TRM) with Excitation Symmetry Analysis Method (ESAM), enabled zone-location of initiating defects, not detectable by other classical NDT procedures. Our results reflect good robustness of both techniques, and support their helpfulness in SHM of aircraft and building structures.
The elastic wave propagation over the shape transitions of bodies
Morávka, Š. ; Hora, Petr
The work treats the elastic wave propagation in the basic construction elements of structures. The samples with the most common shape transitions are used. Results of analytical computations, numerical simulations and experimental results are verified and compared mutually. The generalized ray theory, the FEM (implemented in software MARC/MENTAT)and the transient piezoceramic transducers are used.
DELIVERABLE D9.5 Damaged Masonry
Drdácký, Miloš ; Lesák, Jaroslav ; Urushadze, Shota ; Válek, Jan
Several masonry trial wallets were prepared for the testing. The specimens were mounted into a special testing rig which enabled simultaneous uniform compression and cyclic horizontal loading on the top of the tested specimen. There were four hydraulic jacks generating the vertical load which was transmitted to the wall by eight ties and a steel 'hatö on the top of the wall. Horizontal displacement (force) on the top of the wall was introduced from servo-hydraulic MTS actuator of 250 kN capacity. Experimental part involved testing of brick walls for determination of crack pattern development under various combined loadings and testing of brick, sandstone and marly lime stone walls for crack and damage determination by application of NDT methods. Four approaches have been studied and evaluated: i) sonic wave propagation, ii) stress wave propagation, iii) crack pattern development, iv) modal analysis in which also a case study has been accompanied with a related pilot shaking table test of a one leaf masonry model.
