Děcká, Michaela ; Písař, Pavel (advisor) ; Zemplinerová, Alena (referee)
The thesis deals with the arms and military equipment trade regulations in the Czech Republic and it pays particular attention to foreign trade regulations. There are strict state regulatory measures signifying restrictions of access to the market and approval of particular trade orders. The main goal of my work is analyzing the consequences of these regulatory measures from the point of view concerning costs and returns and from the side of their influence on arms market structure. The thesis also examines socially undesirable phenomena occurring in state regulations of arms market, especially bureaucratization and related expenses, corruption and black market. At the end of the thesis I come to the conclusion that from the economic point of view, the established state regulations are considerably inefficient, nevertheless necessary owing to specific qualities of regulated commodity.

Easements in telecommunications
Hronková, Vladimíra ; Kopecký, Martin (referee) ; Staša, Josef (advisor)
Resume in English. Easement in Telecommunication This thesis deals with the easements in the specifically chosen and therefore dedicated area - in Telecommunication field. The easement has its primary regulation in the Civil Code No. 64/1964 Sb., however the easements are regulated also within the public law area, namely the public law codes e.g. Water Act, Railway Act etc. In its very basic effect they represent the limitation of the property owner. We divide them into two groups easements ad personam and ad rem. The easement in the telecommunication belongs into the public law. They are currently regulated by the Telecommunication Act No. 127/2005 which has it's specific procedure of establishing these easements. Before this Act there were two previous Acts - the Act. No. 110/1964 Sb. which was replaced by Act No. 151/2000 Sb. The Act No. 151/2000 Sb was replaced by above mentioned valid act. Each of the Acts maintained the area of easement in different way. When we take into consideration the first and the oldest Act No. 110/1964 Sb. the easements were considered like public limitation of owner rights until the year 1992, when was the Act updated and specifically renamed the public limitation of the owner rights into the easements. The Act No. 151/2000 Sb. was clear since it's beginning about the...

Statistical Properties of the Czech Capital Market.
Horák, Jiří ; Kaňková, Vlasta (referee) ; Šmíd, Martin (advisor)
This diploma thesis tackles the behavioral description of stocks which are offered at Prague Stock Exchange (PSE). This is carried out by comparison of Statistical properties of returns of individual trades and market makers' quotes during the random walk , tail behavior and ARCH modeling studies. Achieved results are then confronted with the results observed at large financial markets such as New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and London Stock Exchange (LSE). Based on approaches mentioned above we conclude, that market makers behavior at PSE is quite dependent on the individual trades which have been made on the market and that the reac tion time of the whole market to these changes is nearly instantaneous, thus PSE could be regarded as a very effec tive market. Anoth er property of PSE is, that the price of individual trades is considerably stable in a few days horizon and market makers' quotes are oscillating around this price, thus Czech market could be considered as substantially stable and competitive.

Trends of air pollution in the USA and Europe, particularly the Czech Republic, from 1950 to the present
Bendlová, Tereza ; Braniš, Martin (advisor) ; Hůnová, Iva (referee)
Bendlová, 2012 ABSTRACT - English Air pollution represents one of the main environmental issues. It affects human health and the environment through phenomena such as smog, acid rain, ozone layer depletion and climate change. Human health is not affected only outdoors but also indoors where other sources of pollution are in effect. People were already concerned about polluted air in the past. Nowadays, people have become more aware of the harmful impacts of polluted air, particularly after a few smog episodes which resulted in numerous deaths in 1950s. Since then, a lot of has been done to improve the situation, especially in the developed world. The United States (US) led the way by early environmental movements, establishing the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and setting legislation to restrict polluting of the atmosphere. The European Union (EU) started later with their efforts. However, the air quality standards are much stricter now in the EU than in the US. The Czech Republic was behind on the way to cleaner air due to presence in the region of the Soviet Block where the environment was not seriously taken into consideration. Very rapid recovery has taken place establishing laws and legislation to adjust to the European standards and improve the air quality as fast as possible. Air pollution is...

Language Barier in the nursing Care from the View of Foreigners
MOTYSOVÁ, Martina
Language barriers in nursing care from the view of foreigners The degree paper was aimed at the problems caused by language barriers in the Czech health care facilities between the nurses and the increasing number of hospitalized foreigners in our country. The rules and principles of multicultural nursing care are defined and the knowledge or perfect mastering of foreign languages by nurses seem to be more often the basic precondition for providing a comprehensive care in the Czech hospitals. The objective of this paper was to ascertain the scope of language barrier between the nurses and patients of different cultures through the eyes of foreigners and to assess the impact of the language barrier on the level and quality of the nursing care services provided by nurses. The survey is a quantitative research based on three anticipated hypotheses. H1 states that nursing care depends on the language and communication skills of both nurses and foreigners. H2 describes language barriers of nurses as considerable, namely in connection with the deficit of knowledge of foreign languages, and H3 mentions possible negative impact of language barriers on the quality level of nursing care. These hypotheses were confirmed. The data for the survey were processed by secondary analysis and the basic technique of the data collection was a questionnaire for the foreigners treated in the Czech health care facilities. The questionnaire contained 30 questions relating mostly to the problems caused by language barriers of nurses and foreigners and using of translator{\crq}s services by foreigners in the Czech hospitals. The survey was carried out in the clinic of reproductive medicine and endocrinology in Plzeň and Karlovy Vary. The survey showed that the degree of language barrier between nurses and foreigners in the Czech Republic was much higher than in other foreign countries and has often a negative impact on the level of nursing care provided. The reason of that was an insufficient language proficiency of nurses and not taking into consideration the specific cultural needs of a patient. Interpreting services provided by Czech hospital to foreigners are virtually nil. The results of this degree paper will be provided to those who are interested in these issues and may contribute to understanding the necessity of the Czech nurses to be able to communicate in foreign language in connection with the improvement of quality of nursing care in our country.

Obstacles to effectiveness of law
Baňouch, Hynek ; Gerloch, Aleš (advisor) ; Kühn, Zdeněk (referee) ; Večeřa, Miloš (referee)
217 SUMMARY H. BAŇOUCH: PŘEKÁŽKY EFEKTIVNOSTI PRÁVA. DISERTACE. PRF UK V PRAZE Summary The dissertation thesis Obstacles to effectiveness of law points out to the phenomena, processes and approaches which diminish social effectiveness of law. Effectiveness of law is presented in its legal theoretical as well as economical and sociological form. The author does not give priority to any model of effectiveness, but rather examines advantages and weak points of each model while concurrently keeping a considerable distance from economic ideologization of law. Effectiveness studies, however, should always pursue real effect of law and, plainly speaking, they strive to trace the difference between law in books and law in action. As follows from the analysis of abstract effectiveness, effectiveness of law should be seen as a whole, because focus on partial results can diminish the overall effectiveness. Cost effectiveness is not able to produce a satisfactory outcome because it leaves aside a whole group of goals which cannot be expressed by direct financial income. The reflections are made upon processes which take place in society in transition, i. e. a society which has been undergoing a profound change. The transformation of a European state in the XX and XXI century must be realized by means of law; however,...

Sales contract under business law and its prospects
Švábová, Jana ; Horáček, Vít (referee) ; Černá, Stanislava (advisor)
71 Resumé In my diploma thesis I tried to find out the possible development of sales in Czech and European area. As we can see, legal adjustment of commercial sale and obligations has been changing in a huge development. Present legal adjustment without any doubt will get more changed. By cancelling the dualism of obligations, the legal adjustment of sales will get changed. The new adjustement is influenced by the politic situation, there is even a tendency to put off the code and start creating a new one (using the used materia). Not concerning the conceptual changes that will be the logical consequences caused by acceptation of new Czech Civil Code, I do have doubts about the mutual possible existation of both codifications, I work with in my thesis. I mean the new Czech Civil Code and the Draft of Common Frame of Reference. Although academic works in the area of CFR are characterised by considerable comparatistic (especially in the area of particular states law), I am afraid of minimum influence of CFR to the new Civil Code. Nevertheless it is premature to do any conclusions. It is always posibble to upgrade the existing Civil Code with the Draft. It will also depend on the binding force of DCFR for member states of the EU. Getting mantinels for CFR still seems to be an open question. How far are the...

Puškařová, Hana ; Štourač, Petr (advisor) ; Musil, Jan (referee)
ENGLISH RESUME CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE - SOME ASPECTS OF INVESTIGATION The purpose of my thesis is to analyse the specifics of child sexual abuse investigation techniques. Taking into consideration the complexity and extent of this area I decided to focus on the interrogation process, which is highly specific for this type of criminal investigation. The thesis is composed of five chapters. Chapter One is introductory and defines the basic terminology used in my thesis. The chapter provides an insight into the legal status of child, explains child abuse syndromes CAN/CSA and examines interrogation classification. Chapter Two describes in nine parts the methodology of investigating the sex crime in general. The basic characteristics and typical ways of the criminal sexual conduct are explained in the first two parts followed with the crime scene evidence collection and typical situations approached during investigation. The rest five parts are devoted to the specifics of sex crime investigation like the subject of investigation, hypotheses, instigation origin, initial investigation steps, specifics of investigation conduct and obligatory following steps. Chapter Three observes the child sexual abuse from the viewpoint of the Czech penal law. It is divided into two parts. The first deals with the immoral offences...

Transdermal in vitro permeation of methoxytacrine. III.
Režňáková, Eva ; Doležal, Pavel (advisor) ; Bajgar, Jiří (referee)
Diploma Thesis 2006, Eva Režňáková Abstract The theoretical part gives a list of selected issues on transdermal drug delivery and summarizes information on Azone, including new technical information published in 2005. In vitro permeation experiments using the excised pig skin confirm the considerable potential for transdermal administration of 7-methoxytacrine. Using the isopropyl myristate as a vehicle the therapeutically valuable fluxes at about 15 [μg/cm2.h-1] were obtained. Transdermal acceleration and impact of 5% added amounts of methyl pyrrolidone and dodecyl pyrrolidone were not established. As a promising in this respect appears to use Azone and transkarbam 12.

Regional Policy of the European Union and its Growth Effects on the Southern Italian Regions
Klán, Robert ; Abrhám, Josef (advisor)
Region policy of the European Union seems to be one of the most important policy at the supranational level. While it represented only a negligible item on the european budget in the 80s, today it occupies, from the expenditure volume point of view, a second place already. During this dynamic period of time Cohesion policy has become an object of number of political but also special discussions, gained many favorers and opponents. With regard to the considerable amounts of money it has granted, it is worth of detailed attention. Italy has become the seond largest beneficiary from the Structural funds between 1989 an 2006. Its economy is characterised by a substantial geografic dualism where its Southern "periphery" has been struggling with continuous socio-economic difficulties. These regions have had a change to benefit from the generous Structural funds for a considerable period of time. This study tries to analyse the effectiveness of these financial resources, in other words, it considers empirical analysis of the marginal growth effects of these resources on the Southern Italian regions.
