Agenda-setting at the Local Level
Jirků, Jan ; Jirák, Jan (advisor) ; Köpplová, Barbara (referee)
The rigorous thesis named Agenda-setting at the Local Level deals with concept agenda-setting and applies it on the research made in local conditions. It is checked to what degree the process of agenda-setting is functional on this level and how in the concrete it expresses oneself. At the same time follows up-to-date trend of research in agenda-setting being characterized by displacement from macro structural level to micro structural level and by replacement of general hypotheses to concrete hypotheses. The rigorous thesis describes relationships among citizens of Nové Město na Moravě including integrated villages as representatives of local public agenda, toll-free fortnightly Novoměstsko that belongs to local media agenda and municipal politicians as representatives of local political agenda. It is based on groundbreaking studies that checked the validity of agenda-setting on the macro structural level and it is used quantitative and qualitative methods that propped oneself upon that studies. The way of fortnightly publishing and the town government were changed in the period between the first and the second research. Therefore, the rigorous thesis also analyzes impact of these changes on the process of agenda-setting.

Jechová, Jitka ; Czumalo, Vladimír (advisor) ; Matějů, Martin (referee)
This paper focuses on a compact monograph of the city of Most. It concentrates on the basic questions related to a city as a complex cultural phenomenon: What are the impacts on urban settlement when it is relocated from the original landscape and the historical centre is destroyed; if the completely modern building area is able to fulfill the functions of the original city; what is the degree of identification of the inhabitants with the city and what is the overall loss of continuity of the city's development. Apart from available literature and archival sources, the paper employs also own empirical research, carried out using both qualitative and quantitative methods.

Koblížek, Vladimír ; Salajka, František (advisor) ; Skřičková, Jana (referee) ; Marel, Miloslav (referee)
AJ Impairment of nasal mucociliary clearance in former smokers with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease relates to presence of a chronic bronchitis phenotype Background: Associations between nasal and bronchial impairment have been repeatedly described in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) whereas nasal mucociliary clearance (MCC) in COPD patients is not yet fully understood. We studied nasal MCC parameters in COPD patients and compared them with healthy adults (HA) and with cystic fibrosis (CF) patients with compromised MCC. Methodology: Pilot study of seventeen COPD patients without exacerbation; all of them were examined to investigate and compare nasal and bronchial ciliary beat frequency (CBF) and ciliary beat pattern. Main observational study of 98 COPD ex-smokers and subjects from control groups (15 CF and 39 HA) evaluated for nasal MCC time (NMCCt) and by digital video microscopy of nasal mucosa recording ciliary beat frequency (CBF) and ciliary beat pattern (index of ciliary dyskinesia). Results: It was found no difference in mean ciliary beat frequencies between nasal (6.0 Hz ± 1.3) and bronchial (5.9 ± 1.3) mucosa (p = 0.427). We found medium association in degree of ciliary dyskinesia (κ = 0.733). In the main observational study: the NMCCt was decreased in HA (575...

Resumé Title: The analysis of scoring goal in football on the basis of World Championship 2006 in Germany. Work objectives: My work objective is to analyze the scoring goals based on detailed watching of all the matches ofWorld Championship 2006. The players and t~ams in the offensive part ofthe play are studied, especially in the line of attack. The main purpose of the study is to reason out the model situation leading to breaking through the defensive line successfully scored by a goal (in open play), and to find out what the requirements on the particular players are and to use the gained information in practice. Methods: The research was accomplished by indirect observation from videocassette showing all goals scored at the World Championship 2006. The qualitative and quantitative analysis was used for this research. There were followed all the criteria of performance of successful shot. The graphic demonstration of representative goal situation has showed us the models, which we can break in to the training process and transfer to another performance group. Results: The results show us which models of successful offensive play were used at the world championship. Also the possibilities of strategy which lead to scoring a goal were introduced and so the frequency ofappearance ofthe partial factors. Key...

Influence of Foot reflexology in reducing swelling of lower limbs
SMOLOVÁ, Petra
This batchelor´s thesis deals with the issue of swelling of lower limbs in the view of foot reflexology. The treatment or reduction of this symptom must be solved comprehensively with a respect to the primary cause because it is only symptom, not illness. Formation of swelling can cause pathology of venous or lymphatic system, diseases of viscus or mechanism of injury. These causes can combine very often, therefore the diagnosis and resulting therapy is not always easy and explicit. This work shows possible mechanisms and causes of swelling and simultaneously indicates therapeutic methods useful in its therapy. This work focuses on the method of foot reflexology as a part of therapy of swelling. Foot reflexology is non-invasive, complementary holistic method which assumes existence of reflective spots on feet. During the therapy a teraphist treats reflective spots of specific viscus by the pressure of his/her fingers. It comes to affecting the entire body within the foot reflexology. The aim of this work was to chart if the foot reflexology can have an effect on reduction of swelling of lower extremities and suggest a consequential physiotherapy with using this method. For realisation of this aim was used qualitative research by processing of case reports. In the research were included three women with perimalleolar swelling of lower extremities with a duration at least for one year. These women were taken personal anamnesis, they also went through an input and output kinesiology examination completed with diagnostics of sensitive feet reflective. Sensitive reflective spots were clasified by a visaul analog pain scale. It is a scale from 0 to 10, the number 10 represents the gratest pain (sensitivity), which a patient has ever experienced. This scale helped with the classifiacation of sensitivity of reflective spots during the therapy. The degrees were registred into diagrams. During this therapy were also measured and registered circuits of swelling. The therapy proceed for five weeks. Patients´ feet were treated by the stimulation of particular reflective spots. Research question was to find if the foot reflexology can have an effect on reduction of swelling of lower extremity and whether can be seen any changes after its use. After five weeks of facilitation of particular reflective spots could be seen reduction of swelling in all cases. There was seen a remission of edema of the lower extremities for all patiens at least in one centimeter. The changes were exhibited particulary in the circuit of fetlock and heel. The response of this therapy was also increasing of volume and change of consistency of urine, patients sweated more, too. During a personal interivew all patients agreed on improving the overall well-being and on feeling of ´lighter legs´. It is important to say that the foot reflexology is only a complementary method, which can facilitate a treatment of some diseases. The research, showed in this work, affirmed its influence on treating of edema of the lower extremities. This work can be used by physiotherapists in clinical practice for mapping in problematics of swelling of lower extremities and for introducing method of foot reflexology as a complementary method in its treatment. Swelling of lower extremities can cause changed proprioception, reduction of mobility, deterioration of blood flow segment and reflective muscle attenuation. The knowledge of methods of treatment of this state is also important for physiotherapists in practice.

Hellerová, Šárka ; Osvaldová, Barbora (referee) ; Němcová Tejkalová, Alice (advisor)
The bachelor degree thesis "Ecological topics on the pages of Mladá fronta Dnes - a comparison of years 1998 and 2008" compares how the daily journal informed the public of ecological subjects. The press of Communist Czechoslovakia practically ignored any ecological topics. The year 2009 is the 20th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution and the reborn of democracy in the state. The new state system opened new possibilites for dicussions about environment in the Czech Republic and in the world. With the new findings about global warming the ecological topics became an indispensible part of journalism. Through qualitative analysis and comparison of the Mladá fronta Dnes texts from the two selected periods (years 1998 and 2008) the thesis finds out what shifts in informing of ecological subjects happened in the period chosen.
