Is a greater willingness to invest in human capital for people in smaller towns?
Peterová, Lenka ; Hudík, Marek (advisor) ; Janíčko, Martin (referee)
Abstract This paper describes the influences on decisions to invest in human capital. Emphasis is placed on the diversity of influences acting on the inhabitants of different parts of the Czech Republic to verify the assumption of a greater incentive to invest in education for people from smaller towns. On the concrete data it shows that these areas have different condition for investment into the human capital. Furthermore, some data were tested by regression analysis. It aims to demonstrate the dependence of educational attainment on unemployment, loss of wages and wage gap between college and high school graduates. Surprisingly, we found the dependence of demand for education only to the difference in wages gap.
The International Migration and Labour Markets in the Czech Republic
Buzková, Jana ; Brožová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Bartoň, Petr (referee)
The work is concerned with neoclassical theory of migration describing the behavior of individuals who maximize their utility. These individuals are comparing migration costs and benefits. They choose the country with higher wages. The high of wages is influenced by the quantity and quality of human capital, which the workers own, rate of redistribution of benefits and informedness of employers and workers. Educated workers go to countries where it is possible to evaluate their skills and be more productive. It is also important to include positive externalities which arise from high concentration of professional workers. Skilled and unskilled workers flow to the same direction to western European countries. The Czech Republic is not capable to align in the level of wages with these countries. It is immigration country but the skilled workers don't prefer it. Presently, outflow of skilled workers is compensated by obtaining skilled workers from abroad but in some profession there is their insufficiency. The outflow of skilled people is rising and CR wouldn't be able to cover it from its own resources.

The Gender Discrimination in the Southwest Region of Slovak Republic
Gajdošech, Martin ; Macáková, Libuše (advisor) ; Adámek, Petr (referee)
The main aim of this paperwork is to point out gender wage differential in the southwest region of Slovak Republic. The gender wage differential was set on the level of 126,2 eur, based on the findings from a questionnaire responded by 116 employees from this region. This means 18% lower wages for women. A relatively small differential is caused by the age structure of the respondents. Almost 48% of respondents were between 20 and 24 year old. We can observe the lowest gender wage differential among this group. By the application of a real age structure we would reach adifferential of 29% which was stated for the year 2009 in the district of Nitra. Approximatly 45 to 60% of the gender wage differential can be explained by the discrimination of women. A woman employed in the district of Nitra gains 76,4 to 101,9 eur less than her male colleague with comparable working abilities. The rest of the gender wage differential can be explained by the discontinuity of the performance of women on the labour market and also by more frequent shifts in work specialization.

Analysis of chosen factors influencing the decision about educational level in the Czech Republic
Vaňková, Radka ; Bolcha, Peter (advisor) ; Bydžovský, Jiří (referee)
The graduates of universities in most cases will have better future than the graduates of lower levels of education not only in terms of higher wages, but also social status in broader sense. In spite of this not all graduates of secondary education choose to continue in tertiary education. That is why this bachelor work deals with chosen factors, that could have the impact on the individual's choice about tertiary educational level. Theoretical part mainly stands upon the publications and papers of Gary S. Becker and Jacob Mincer, on the human capital analysis and also on the documents, annual reports and data of OECD and Czech Statistical Office. For purposes of empirical check we use the data from the Czech Republic. To answer our question we use the method of regression analysis and the test of hypothesis about equality of two mean values. The goal of this paper was to find out if and how the chosen variables influence the individual's decision to graduate the tertiary education mentioned above, and to interpret measured outcomes in the context of the relevant theories. In the Czech Republic setting we have not found evidence that exogenous variables have significant impact on endogenous variable (even thought in some foreign papers this impact was evidence). However some outcomes led to interesting findings and showed possible factors entering to human decisions.
