China and India as a part of the Asian developing center

China and India are currently one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Because of more or less successful reforms enacted 30 years ago in China and 15 years ago in India, both countries have become more open to the outside world and have managed to build a strong presence in the world markets. This paper aims to describe this development and the status quo of the selected areas of international trade, leading to a comparison of the gathered data.

Obchodní vztahy České republiky s Indií

Cílem práce je podat základní charakteristiku vývoje zahraničního obchodu České republiky a Indie. Zhodnotit její význam jako obchodního partnera pro náš stát a nastínit budoucí vývoj a perspektivy další hospodářské spolupráce. Materiál se detailněji zabývá analýzou vzájemných hospodářských vazeb od přelomu tisíciletí až do současnosti, rozebírá specifika podnikatelského prostředí Indie a nejvýraznější kulturní odlišnosti. Rovněž se zaměřuje na otázku volby vhodné strategie vstupu na indický trh.

Foreign direct investments inflow into India - selected topics

India has become one of the most important countries in a globalized world and foreign direct investments (FDI) are part of it. FDI have been supported by the Indian government since 1991. This paper aims to describe and analyze inflows of FDI into Indian economy. FDI will be analyzed from many angles after the first part which deals with the basic features of India. Third part deals with Indian policy towards FDI and the last one with some of the possible future oportunities to increase FDI inflows into India.

Business and cultural specialties in business dealing with Indian partners

The first chapter is dedicated to basic characteristics of India. In the second chapter you can find business specialties. These include issues which in my opinion highly characterize business environment, more or less friendly for doing business. The core part of this thesis is cultural and social manners, values, norms which I compare, as per Hoefstede's theory, with the Czech Republic, etiquette and forms of dealing. My analysis of the business and cultural specialties during dealing with Indian partner are closed by the chapter in which I present information gathered from experienced participants of business dealing with Indian partners. This confirms or specifies my theoretical knowledge. Before the ending there is a characteristic of strong and weak aspects of the Indian business environment, mainly from the point of view of those who see India as another economic growing giant.

Political, social and cultural integration of the immigrants from India in the United States of America

This paper deals with the political, social and cultural integration of the immigrants from India in the United States of America. The last and so far the biggest wave of Asian Indian immigration to the U.S. began after 1965 with the passage of the new Immigration Act. Today, there are more than 2.5 million Asian Indian immigrants living in the U.S. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the chronology of events and history of U.S. immigration laws concerning Asian, and particularly Asian Indian, immigrants. Building on this analysis, the goal is further to show how the immigrants were being discriminated against and how they managed to integrate successfully into the mainstream American society despite many cases of refusal and acts based on prejudice. The Social Integration part analyzes possible problems in the Asian Indian immigrant family living in the U.S., their attitudes towards education, and finally their success at work. The Cultural Integration part includes the topic of multiculturalism, issues of conflict and communication, differences between the American and Indian culture, as well as religion, holidays, and traditions.

Position of India in contemporary International Trade

Diplomová práce se zabývá zapojením Indie do mezinárodního obchodu a mezinárodního pohybu kapitálu. Pozornost je věnována hospodářské spolupráci Indie s Evropskou unií jako jejím největším obchodním a investičním partnerem a také spolupráci s Českou republikou. Cílem diplomové práce je na základě SWOT analýzy indického trhu identifikovat příčiny rostoucího významu Indie v zahraničně-obchodních vztazích, ale zároveň také upozornit na skutečnosti, které její zlepšující se postavení mohou ohrozit. V závěrečné části práce je naznačen předpokládaný vývoj Indie v jednu z hospodářských velmocí světa.

Práce pojednává o ekonomické situaci a vývoji indické ekonomiky. Zabývá se strukturálními změnami, silnými a slabými stránkami indické ekonomiky, zahraničními vztahy a členstvím v mezinárodních organizacích. Zaměřuje se na velmi perspektivní obor informačních technologií a služeb. Práce vysvětluje proč je tento obor klíčový pro Indii a nastiňuje výhled do budoucnosti.
