Unlike many other professions, in managerial work there is no clear agreement about what abilities a manager must have in order to carry it out effectively. There are no precise specifications for who can become a manager nor do they require any vocational training to carry out this function. For this reason the competencies mentioned in this assignment are not bound to a specific position or task, but which can be a guarantee of good performance in many professions, in various organisations and can differentiate above-average managers from the average. The key competencies form a set of knowledge, skills and attitudes which goes beyond specific professional knowledge and enables their effective exploitation.
