Nurishment and Free Time of Elementary School Children as Determinants of Children's Obesity
Přívětivá, Gabriela ; Marádová, Eva (advisor) ; Vodáková, Jitka (referee)
The Czech Republic is a leader in the prevalence of obesity in Europe. The cases of obesity are increasing by 10 to 40% every ten years. In the cases of children, for the last 10-25 years, obesity has increased by nearly three times. More and more children are obese mainly because of a lack of physical activity. Statistically i tis proven that every fifth child is overweight between the ages of six and twelve . Ten percent of that number is overweight, while the remaining ten percent is actually obese. This thesis reflects on the contemporary state of obesity, eating habits and the spending of free time at chosen elementary schools in Prague. In the sample of pupils in the fifth grade , there were proven predispositions to reflect an inbalance betweeen the input and output of energy. However, this inbalance is connected with bad eating habits and the passive spending of free time. A suggested project should interfere with the behaviour of pupils and lead to a change of lifestyle. KEY WORDS: Children's obesity, body mass index (BMI), eating habits, physical aktivity

Europe without borders and without linguistic diversification? Situations and perspectives of French and Czech Language.

Crucial goal of this diploma thesis was to study nourishment issues of students at Czech Universities and compare results with figures taken from central Europe location. Further objectives were to characterize segments of human body, select risk parameters and characterize the method of bioelectric impedance. In practical part of this thesis was made analysis, which showed changes of the students' body composition during their studies at Mendel University. Measuring were made by bioelectric impendance using Bodystat QuadScan 4000. Analysis took place from the beginning of March 2013 to the end of September 2013. Students undertook three measurements, which were compared afterwards. Mainly were observed changes in Body Mass Index, Waist Hip Ratio, weight, fat content, amount of active body mass, water capacity and water separation to extracellular and intracellular. In between first, second and third (3/2013, 5/2013, 9/2013) measurements, were not proven any statistic differences (p > 0,05) in observed corporal parameters. Practical part includes also questionnaires, which were made in order to find out students' eating habits, physical ability and presence of illnesses in their family. Last point of the practical part is students' diet evaluation in Fit Line program, there were discovered preferences of groups of food, energy distribution and nutritive composition of each meal measured during one day. Statistically conclusive difference of saccharids (p < 0,05) was detected in all meal portions. Obtained date, were evaluated in Microsoft Excel 2010 and Statistika Cz, version 12.

Electric field in stationary superconductor

The charge of the vortex core must be screened by the excess charge in the neighborhood. Ginzburg-Laudau (GL) theory and that factor, which must be neglected to obtain the standard GL theory is really negligible.

Cultural and spiritual crisis of Europe
ARBET, Petr
The basic attribute of the work is remind of cultural and spiritual root of Europe, because it?s time for Europe to realize it?s legacy in a position, where there is a deep cultural, economic and especially spiritual crisis. Europe stands on unique legacy of archaic Greece, Christianity and scientific-technical revolution. The work looks for wide psychological perspective. In the end we are trying to find a way to route the unique human energy.

Hydrogen as an energy source
Kameneva, Liubou ; Sedláček, Jan (advisor) ; Lev, Jakub (referee)
The aim of the bachelor thesis was to describe the essence of hydrogen energy, options and methods of its obtaining, the pros and cons of the main technological solutions of hydrogen energy, based on the summary of the physical and chemical hydrogen properties. Besides that, the thesis is also dedicated to an overview of the production methods, storage and transportation, and also the hydrogen usage as an energy carrier and a potential resource for future energy storage. Though retrievals of technology solutions available nowadays, as well ones seem perspective for the future, considering the economic aspects of hydrogen energy, the thesis attempts to answer the question of whether we can actually rely on hydrogen energy, as on a certain way of fulfilling energy needs of mankind in the near future.

Impact exchange rates on the companie´s sphere of Czech republic
Borovička, Vladimír ; Ševčík, Miroslav (advisor) ; Pojsl, Zdeněk (referee)
In context of czech membership in the Europen Union we always discuss the question if the acceptance of the euro as official currency is for our country and czech companies beneficial or not. The aim of this thesis is to describe microeconomic benefits of join the euro for company TECHO, a.s. that I have been working for over two years. TECHO, a.s. is an important provider of comprehensive services for the furnishing of commercial interiors in the Czech republic and its products are available on three continents -- Europe, Asia and Africa. Because of this fact is the question of acceptance or non-acceptance of the euro for this company very important and actual. The method of research is the analysis of exchange rates that I apply on economic results of the firm for years 2005-2009. The analysis should answer the question if the acceptance of the euro is for the firm TECHO, a.s. profitable or not.

Carbon Capture and Storage Technology in Energy Industry
Šulcová, Anna ; Melichar, Jan (advisor) ; Dvořák, Antonín (referee)
Given the growing worldwide interest in fossil fuels on one hand and mitigation of climate change on the other hand, it is necessary to research into new technologies as Carbon Capture and Storage. This technology became a matter of interest as an option to diminish greenhouse gas emissions of power plants. It is essential to find out about the costs of Carbon Capture and Storage and expected future costs of power plants with CCS. Impact of this techology is not only in the sphere of capital and operational costs, but it also influences power plant efficiency and fuel consumption in negative way. Analysis of reductions in the costs of this technology as a result of learning-by-doing is observed on Experience Curves. This study observes influence of CCS on costs of mainly PC, IGCC and NGCC type of power plant. CCS technology has positive impact not only on environment, but it is possible to assess Enhanced Oil, Methane or Gas Recovery, which can partly offset costs of this technology.

Analysis of Spring Barley Actual Evapotranspiration
Pozníková, Gabriela ; Fischer, Milan ; Pohanková, Eva ; Žalud, Zdeněk ; Trnka, Miroslav
Evapotranspiration (ET) represents the main water-loss part of the water balance in agricultural landscape. The reliable quantification of the agricultural field ET is, however, still a challenge. To calculate ET, the Bowen ratio/energy balance (BREB) method was used in this study. It is based on measurements of the temperature and humidity gradients and radiation balance with the soil heat flux. Calculated ET was further used to quantify crop coefficient (Kc). Subsequently, we analysed the crop coefficient of spring barley during one growing season since 7th May 2013 to 30th July 2013. We used the data obtained above 1-ha spring barley field in Bystřice nad Pernštejnem, Czech Republic. In particular, we investigated how Kc correlates to climatic conditions as rainfall and soil humidity and how it reflects Plant Area Index (PAI) during the year during different parts of growing season. The cumulative ET of spring barley was 228.6 mm per investigated period. For reference evapotranspiration (ETo) two different approaches were used. Typically, a reference grass cover 0.12 m high standard for Europe. On the other hand, in the USA it is common to use also alfalfa (0.50 m high). ETo of grass was 296.3 mm and ETo of alfalfa was 351.4 mm. Maximum Plant Area Index occurred in June and its value was 4.1. Mean Kc in May was 1.17 for reference grass and 1.03 for alfalfa. Similarly in June, Kc was equal to 1.16 (grass) and 1.03 (alfalfa). Finally in July, for reference grass Kc was 0.55 and 0.48 for alfalfa. The decline at the end of the growing season was caused by dry weather and ripe stage of spring barley.
