The relationship between patient end nurse from ethical point of view
PROTIVOVÁ, Svatava
Relationships between the patient and the members of paramedical staff constitute a rather complex issue governed by particular rules. Among these rules, the Code of Ethics is one of the most remarkable. As its aim, the present thesis set to research on to what extent the Code of Ethics is noticed among paramedical staff in the Czech Republic, and to compare the Czech paramedical CoE to the CoEs of different countries. In the first part, this thesis bring a concise overview of the CoEs for physiotherapists in different countries as well as their comparison with a special focus on what ethic issues they deal with, which of these they emphasize, and which they do not mention respectively. The individual CoEs are also compared here according to their length and recency (date of the last update). The second part of the thesis gives account of the evaluation of the Czech CoE for physiotherapists and its comparison to the CoE of the WCPT (World Confederation for Physical Therapy) CoE, which was used as a muster for writing the Czech one. The third part of the thesis researches on the knowledge of the relevant CoE among Czech physiotherapists and on how the CoE is implemented in their practice. The present thesis is based on qualitative research. The first part makes use of the method of content analysis with outputs organised in a chart. The second part compares, again on the basis of content analysis, the two main documents mentioned above and gives account of the differences between them. The third part analyses interviews with ten Czech physiotherapists, acquired by the means of semi-conducted interview. The informants were asked whether and to what extent they are familiar with the CoE relevant to their profession, and whether they make use of it in their practice. As the general result of the research, it appears that only a few of the physiotherapists who have participated in the research are aware of the existence, contents, and importance of the CoE in question.

The incidence of musculoskeletal disorders in sport horses
ŠTĚRBA, Jakub
The objective of this study was to evaluate the occurrence of locomotive organs disorders in sports horses. The locomotive organs condition is one of the determining factors of horse{\crq}s performance, thus it is also very important economical factor. The occurrence of the disorders is important not only for the given individual, but it can be used e.g. as the genetic information or the indicator of breeding management. The results of 151 horses in the age from 3 to 24 years were observed. Total of 10 radiographic images were evaluated in each horse. With respect to frequency and importance, following disorders were emphasized: occurrence and degree of modifications of navicular bone (navicular syndrome) and hock joint (bone spavin). Others modifications were observed on a smaller range. The results showed that only 11% of horses were free of any disorder. 89% of horses had at least one of the disorders, whereas 83% of them showed the disorder of navicular bone and 52% of them showed the disorder of bone spavin.

The role of cholesterol, its precursors and oxidative products in clinically serious conditions
Vyroubal, Pavel ; Zadák, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Matějovič, Martin (referee) ; Dítě, Petr (referee)
The role of cholesterol, its precursors and oxidative products in clinically serious conditions Objective: The aim of the study was to elucidate the role and importance of hypocholesterolemia in clinically serious conditions. It was a monocentric, prospective clinical study. Material and Methods: Two groups of patients were recruited into the study - one group consisted of patients with coronary heart disease (CHD), who underwent miniinvasive cardiosurgical operation without extracorporeal circulation (n=22) and the other group of patients, who sustained polytrauma (n=31). Fifty three patients were recruited into the study. We performed the determination of sterols (total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triacylglycerols) and their precursors (β-sitosterol, campesterol, lathosterol, skvalen), interleukin IL-6, insulin, C-peptid and cortisol in the blood serum. The short version of ACTH stimulation test was performed. The oxidative burst of granulocytes was evaluated. The blood samples were taken on the day of admission, the first, the fourth and the eighth post-operative and post-traumatic day. Results: There was a significant early decline of total cholesterol (TC) and LDL cholesterol level followed by full recovery during observed period. There was a decline of cholesterol synthesis...

Koudelová, Martina ; Valášková, Mariana (advisor) ; Pelák, Jiří (referee)
The conceptual framework as an introductory document of International Financial Reporting Standards is the basis for financial statements preparation. It consists of the objective of financial statements, underlying assumptions, qualitative characteristics, definition of elements of financial statements, their recognition and measurement as well as concepts of capital and capital maintenance. The evidence of the necessity of the conceptual framework is seen in wordwide harmonization and in an ongoing process of convergence. The importance of the conceptual framework is emphasized by ideas and reasons supporting its creation coming from the past. By novelising the conceptual framework the project was divided into eight phases called A to H. This bachelor thesis has for an objective to compare the conceptual framework to the czech accounting rules. And following this comparison to find whether there is some conceptual framework of financial reporting system in the Czech Republic.

A comparison of the termination of employment in selected EU countries (with special focus on the notice in the Czech Republic and Germany)
Reindl, Martin ; Pichrt, Jan (advisor) ; Bělina, Miroslav (referee)
The purpose of my thesis is to analyze the ways, how the employment contracts are terminated in the European Union. The method of my research is to briefly analyze the labour codes (statutes) of the particular european countries dealing with the termination of employment contracts and then compare them, determine conclusions and emphasize the differences. During my research I worked mostly with the original statutes/regulations of the particular countries and also with the relevant professional literature. Among the kinds of labour contract terminations I always prefer the notice of termination and I focus on it. I have chosen these countries to compare : Austria, Czech republic, France, Germany, Slovakia and Sweden. I focused my research on the comparison of Germany with Czech republic, which is actually the main part of my thesis. The thesis is composed of six chapters, each of them dealing with different aspects of the termination of employment. Chapter one is introductory and defines basic terminology used in the thesis and also its structure. Chapter two examines the most important international/european legislation and documents concerning the subject of employment termination. The chapter is dealing with the international labour standards, especially how the employers are secured by these...

Disturbances of effective osmolality in acute brain diseases
Špatenková, Věra ; Kazda, Antonín (advisor) ; Maňák, Jan (referee) ; Jabor, Antonín (referee)
Dysbalances of effective osmolality arc some of the most frequent and serious complications in neurointensive care. Their severity lies in brain oedema in hyponatraemia and dehydration of the brain in hypernatraemia. Due to the seriousness of dysnatraemia in acute brain diseases, timely and accurate diagnosis is necessary. Nowadays this is easily achieved through measuring and calculating renal function parameters. The aims of this study were 1) evaluation of hyponatraemia and hypernatraemia in acute brain diseases after establishing these renal parameters into clinical practice in our NNICU and 2) determining the significance ofNT-proBNP in differential diagnostics of hyponatraemia. Over a ten-year period, in a retrospective (1.1.1996 - 31.12.2000) and a prospective study (1.1.2001 - 31.12.2005) we evaluated all patients hospitalised in our NNICU with acute brain diseases, who had scrum sodium below 135 mmol/1 (collection hyponatraemia) or above 150 mmol/1 (collection hypernatraemia). The prospective part took place according to standard protocol for diagnosing hyponatraemia and hypernatraemia in the NNICU, which includes the measuring and calculating of renal function parameters. In the prospective study, assesment of NT-proBNP was carricd out on 40 patients with hyponatraemia. The control group consisted...

Thinking narratively: qualitative research "on the road"
Čermák, Ivo
The role of narrativity in the process of qualitative research is briefly described in the paper. In narrative research, mathodological canons of representativness, method, and expert position in research are abandoned, validity is replaced by concept of finding trustworthiness, and sharing, participative-dialogical interpretation and meaning re-construction are emphasized. The story is considered a basis and also an object of narrative research. Stories are interpretations of life and an individual became an autobiographic narrativity. Story is a tool of identity construction and also reflection and can be labelled as a narrative identity. The aim of narrative research lies in good-story construction, which has not to be contradictory to the searching of truth. Narrative research is a way toward narrative knowing. Continuous communication with different versions of human research is a basic principle of narrative methodology and protection against rigidity.
