Vegetation changes of urban forests
Kučerová, Tereza ; Hédl, Radim (referee) ; Vojta, Jaroslav (advisor)
Urbanization is one of the most intense and biggest factor of homogenization created by human. Cities produce environment which is important just for one species and it is homo sapiens. Very important is also instability of pumping natural resources instead of preservation natural environment. In consequence of cities expand across the planet, biological homogenization increases because the same urban-adaptable species become increasingly widespread and locally abundant in cities all around the World. Synantropic species adapted to intensely modified built habitats at the urban core are global homogenizers, that we found in cities and urban woodlands worlwide. This species consist of early successional plants and edge animal species as mesopredator mammals and frugivorous birds that can utilize gardens, forest fragmnents and many other habitats available in the suburbs. The intentional and unintentional importation of species adapted to urban habitats often produces local species diversity and abundance that is usually equal to or greater than the surrounding landscape. Human populations inhabit richly cultivated suburban habitats with a relatively high local floral nad faunal diversity without awerness of the global impoverishment caused by urbanization. Because so many urban species are immigrants...

The essays of Marina Tsvetaeva in Czech translations
Šťastná, Zuzana ; Honzík, Jiří (referee) ; Rubáš, Stanislav (advisor)
Czech translations of six essays by Marina Tsvetaeva that focus on poetry writing and on the work of fellow-poets were examined, following a detailed analysis of Tsvetaeva's style and the historical and biographical context of her prose. The evaluation criteria for the translations were: accuracy in reproducing the author's meaning, the ability to distinguish the characteristic features of Tsveateva's style from the systemic features of Russian and the translators' creative input in reproducing especially the lexical and euphonic intricacies of the original. In addition to providing a general overview of translation problems posed by the author's style the work attempted to trace differences between the approaches of two translators of Tsvetaeva's princi pal essays on art: Jana Štroblová (Art in the Light oj Conscience) and Jan Zábrana (Poet and Time, The Epic and Lyric ofContemporary Russia). All Czech translations were found seriously lacking in accuracy; the errors in the reproduction of meaning are partly due to the idiosyncrasies of Tsvetaeva's style (e.g. punctuation), but sometimes to sheer carelessness. Remaining faithful especially to the emotionality ofthe style occasionally entails the transference oftypically Russian syntax or word order into Czech. The effort to reproduce or compensate for...

The analysis of efficiency and fertility with regard to presence of horns in dairy cow herd
TOMANOVÁ, Jana
For quite a long time there is trend of de-horned cattle supported in our country and in the whole developed world especially for safety of farmers and animals. Despite of this fact, especially in organic breeds, there are quite often these two forms together in one herd. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the efficiency and fertility of Holstein cows with regard to presence of horns. Observation of a herd of Holstein cattle took place from April 2010 to September of 2011 at Bemagro, a.s. The priority of this ecologically farming company is to preserve horns in the herd. A total amount of 100 cows was observed, from which 50 of them was de-horned and the equal amount was horned. There were indicators of fertility measured (service period and insemination interval) as well as indicators of milk production (the amount of milk, content of fat, proteins and lactose).

Human dignity and nurse
HRŮZOVÁ, Marcela
The aim of the thesis is to find out the conception of human dignity at medical staff. At nurses, in addition, with a hidden observation to verify to what extent they meet their statements in practice, whether for nurses a patient does not become only an object of relevant therapeutic and nursing acts. The empirical part of this thesis was processed in form of a qualitative research. The data collection technique was a non-standardised interview with nurses at standard in-patient departments, students of the nursery Master study programme, students of a higher nursing school and patients at a standard department. At nurses it was verified, using the technique of hidden observation, to what extent their actual behaviour in practice corresponds to the information mentioned in interviews. Therefore in their interviews we differentiated the mentioned and non-mentioned elements. The interviews were anonymous. They were recorded in writing because only in one case the respondent agreed for us to use a dictaphone. Collection of empirical data proceeded from June to August 2008. Unlike our expectations the research showed that respondents have no conception of human honour and have no complex conception of its keeping in practice. We categorised the rather poor information into five basic categories that covered 92% (intimacy, communication, individuality, empathy and equality of approach). Statements that we did not manage to categorise here create other 5 categories (worthy dying, consider seriously, pain calming, lege artis process and faith). Most often the respondents mentioned the following categories: intimacy (80.4 %), communication (76.8 %), individuality (60.7 %), empathy (39.3 %) and equality of approach (33.9 %). The hidden observation showed that most nurses (13 out of 16, i.e. 81 %) adhered to their fundamentals of keeping human dignity when working with ill people in a satisfactory way. The other 3 nurses made mistakes in all categories except keeping intimacy; here only one of them did wrong. Results of the thesis should contribute to improvement of quality of care and help to better respect for human dignity.

Donát, Michal ; Pavelka, Tomáš (advisor) ; Soukupová, Jana (referee)
The technological revolution that is currently underway is building on the foundations of machine learning, exponential speed of technological development and digitalization. Machines in near future will become cheaper and more efficient and will replace human workers in a wide range of disciplines. Diploma thesis summarizes the reasons and consequences of current technological development and presents an unconditional basic income as the tool for ensuring a sustainable level of social equality. Using the real numbers from the Czech Republic it shows that the introduction of an unconditional basic income is rather a problem of cultural and social than economic. Basic income in future may become an effective tool in the fight against human poverty, especially in the environment where demand for human labor becomes scarce.
