Small Business Development and Competitiveness

This bachelor thesis is focused on the development and competitiveness of a small business in the Czech Republic. The aim is to evaluate the current situation in the selected company, assess its competitiveness and to propose solution for further development. The theoretical part consists of explanations and definitions of basic terms related to this topic such as characteristic of small businesses, internal and external strategies and competitiveness. The current state of the company is depicted by means of SWOT analysis, STEP analysis and Porter´s model of five forces. For data collecting are used semi-structured interviews with company´s director and other employees. The next step is to find competitors who could threaten the company and assess its competitiveness. This is followed by the proposal for solution of further development.

The main aim of this thesis is to analyse the life-cycle of a water company and its strategic decision making, and then to suggest possible changes to improve the business. For the purpose of the thesis the selected water company was CEVAK a.s. located in České Budějovice. The first section of the thesis contains a theoretical description of the company's life-cycle and strategic management. The strategic management section mainly contains strategic analyses as it is a very important part of decision making. The theoretical section is mainly processed from literary sources and also contains theoretical schemes. The second part is an analysis of the chosen water company. This section also contains a description of how the water company works, how it generates profit, price making and business relations. The last section of the thesis contains suggestions for improvement in the company. The bulk of this part discusses better integration of the company into the life of citizens.
Analysis of the company's internal and external environment

The environment in which the company is located includes factors whose interaction may create new opportunities or they can act on potential threats to its existence. For this reason, it is necessary to closely monitor and systematically analyse the surroundings of the company. The STEP analysis and the Porter model of the five competing forces in the industry are used to determine the external factors. SWOT analysis of company is used to assess the internal and external factors affecting the success of the company. The research finds strengths and weaknesses, its threats and opportunities. On the basis of the detected information are designed procedures how to take maximum advantage of the opportunities and eliminate the impact risk on the enterprise.
Public services in the village

Some services are provided in each region in a specific way. Using of these services became a stereotype for residents. Regions are not able to pay these services from their means, so there is a possibility of subsidy. It helps regions to provide new types of services or to get better existing. Topic of this bachelor thesis is region MAS Pomalší, because of author's sympathy. Author has knowledges about this region from hers traveling activities. Author doesn't come from this region but issues of providing services in this region isn't unfamiliar to her. This thesis analyzes internal and external environments. Selected services are very important for residents. Some services have a good level and some services are not supported. This thesis includes information on grant programs and financing options. Results of this analysis should serve to improve present level of provided services in MAS Pomalší region.
Development of Business Activities of Company Netcope Technologies a.s.

The diploma thesis focuses on the development of business activities of Netcope Technologies a.s. on the U.S. IT technology market. The first part of the thesis deals with the theoretical knowledge, which is subsequently used in the analytical part. The analysis is subject to the company itself, its competitive environment and the American market. Values from all analyses were summed up into the SWOT and subsequently evaluated. The last part deals with solving these problems which should help the company to increase sales and thus sales on the U.S. market.

This thesis aims to develop a business plan on starting a mini-brewery. It is divided into three main parts. Basic terminology regarding the discussed issue is described in the theoretical part, particularly explaining certain concepts from the business sphere as well as concepts related to both beer and the mini-brewery. The next part contains a particular procedure. I intend to deal with more in the practical part. The practical part then specifically refers to the market situation detected through several analyses, such as STEP analysis, SWOT analysis and competitor analysis, and also includes the considered company´s marketing plan. An integral part of the thesis is a simplified financial analysis, which allows to determine whether this type of business is actually feasible.

Thesis name: Ice Hockey Players' Association strategic plan project Thesis aims: The main aim is to describe both external and internal environmental forces of Ice Hockey Players' Association and to design a complex strategic plan project for a specific time period 1.8.2012 - 31.7.2015. Methods: Supportive analytical methods SWOT and STEP were used as a descriptive analysis for identifying the initial situation of the organisation. Within the bounds of the descriptive analysis, focus group, and interview were used. Results: The outcome of this thesis is a complex project of Ice Hockey Players' Association strategic plan based on results of used analyses. The subject of this thesis is to analyze the current situation and design a marketing strategy. The work is divided into three parts: theoretical, analytical and design. The first part is a theoretical overview of the problem of marketing strategy, a description of analytical marketing tools and features in the building. The second part focuses on the analysis of the situation in the company using financial analysis, PEST analysis, Porter's five forces analysis, BCG matrix and SWOT analysis. The third part is to design, formulate marketing strategy using the marketing mix 6P. The conclusion is devoted to communication and promotion mix.
The evaluation of the beer market in the Czech Republic

Diploma thesis, entitled "The evaluation of the beer market in the Czech Republic", focuses on the analysis of beer market, the evaluation of current situation and recommendations to market participant. In the first part of this thesis, the literature review, are explained concepts related to the market, the business environment and the analysis of micro and macro environment. There can be also found definition of beer and the history of brewing industry. There are also adduced the types of beer and the development and actual state of tax conditions. The second section describes the basic characteristics containing production, consumption, export, import and the price of beer. There are specified protective certified brands of origin and quality and actual and potential market participants. Next part deals with the STEP analysis and Porter´s model. Based on the information obtained from the analytical section of this thesis are created proposals and recommendations to breweries for next steps.
