Sports and Relaxation Centre Za Lužánkami, Brno
Honková, Lenka ; Vostrejž, Dušan (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor)
The assignment of the diploma thesis follows on a previous urbanistic-architectural study that aimed to design a sports and recreational area Za Lužánkami in Brno. The complex offers a wide range of sports facilities for recreation, as well as facilities with multifunctional use, whether for sports or for all kinds of events organized by the city. The centre of the complex and the main multifunctional sports ground is the torso of the football stadium Za Lužánkami, which continues to refer to the sporting achievements of the city with its genius loci. The aim of the thesis is to design a sports hall with a number of associated facilities in order to create a building providing a range of sports activities and complementing the outdoor area with sports facilities for recreation and leisure. The sports hall is designed on the site of a former hockey stadium. It thus supplements the buildings (swimming pool and hotel Boby) around the road Sportovní not only with facilities with a sports function, but also with accommodation, restaurant, café and commerce.
Sports and Relaxation Centre Za Lužánkami, Brno
Julínek, Roman ; Kotek, arch Jakub (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor)
The architectural-urban study of the sports and recreational centre Za Lužánkami in Brno deals with the complex design of the sports and recreational complex. At present, the area of the former Boby Centre is in a poor condition. Fully functioning buildings in the area are a hotel, a concert hall and a tennis hall with outdoor courts, while the remaining buildings and areas, led by the football stadium, are dilapidated and do not fulfil their potential for public life. I approached the assignment as a solution to a complicated problem with many variables. The design provides a clear definition and morphology of the buildings, living, sports and recreational areas, including green spaces. It helps to social interaction and induce new contacts between people. It addresses the needs of current and future generations of residents. Connects and links to the transport infrastructure of the neighbourhood at all levels. Refers to the past and thus preserves in all respect the famous sporting genius of the locus to which it adds its own distinctive added value. Based on the design concept, a study has been carried out that takes advantage of a quality site in an attractive location in the city and offers a range of sports and recreational facilities. The main idea behind the design was to connect and relate the area to its surroundings. To offer a high quality public realm that will appeal to as many residents as possible across all generations through its range of functions and focus. Proportionate to its size and importance, several masses and objects were designed to divide the large area into smaller interconnected units. Each area has its own face, its own content and its own typical atmosphere that will win over its users. A good public space can be recognised by the way its users treat it. It becomes a mirror of society. If the design listens to the wishes and needs of the majority of the inhabitants, it becomes useful and sustainable at any time.
Multifunctional building Brno - Líšeň
Kurečka, Ondřej ; Fišer, Jiří (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor) ; Pěnčík, Jan (advisor)
The present Bachelor´s thesis is based on the project carried out as an architectural design studio´s project of the 6th semester of Bachelor´s degree. Object is located in Brno – Líšeň. The building site is situated in sloping terrain, and is accessible from the upper side from the Josefa Faimonová street. The subject of this Bachelor´s thesis is the new-build multifunctional building with emphasis on the location of the building site in the terrain, orientation towards cardinal directions and the function of the object. Object is a three-floor building, with two sublevels and first floor. The lowest floor is used as a parking lot for employees and visitors, and also for the technical facilities of the whole object. The parking lot is accessible for the cars by a car elevator, and for pedestrians by an elevator and staircase, both running through all levels of the building. The first sublevel is mostly used for commercial purposes in the form of leasable areas, divided into several groups by function (shops, offices, galleries, etc.). There are also partial technical and hygienical facilities. The first floor is structured in similar fashion, however the leasable areas are used for different functions (mostly cafes, consulting rooms and offices). Also a big terrace is located here, used for different purposes, partially for the cafe. Since the building site is southbound and most of the fullglass surfaces are east-, south- and westbound, it was necessary to solve their shading. That is secured by a textile frontage. Also the variability of the object is reflected in the frontage, which is designed to adjust to the requirements of each function, and also to the size of the leased area, so the system of the rotation of the slats is divided into several sets. The multi-use object adds missing public facilities.

Kejdová, Veronika ; Drobníček, Ladislav (referee) ; Menšíková, Naděžda (advisor) ; Matějka, Libor (advisor)
Multifunctional building is located in the center of Brno, in an older residential development, between the streets Křenová, Vlhká and Skořepka. It provides seven above-ground and two underground floors. The shape of each floor is created by a specific curve. Each floor mingles vertically with another ones so they create the irregular organic shape. From the exterior the building is characteristic by its glass facade in a green tone. Thanks to its shape and color the building will play very dominant role in the surrounding. It will also provide a relatively luxury apartments, offices, retail space and parking areas.

Marková, Kamila ; Urbášková,, Hana (referee) ; Menšíková, Naděžda (advisor)
The theme of my disseration is an architecture study of multifunctional building which is surrounded by the streets Křenová, Rumiště, Mlýnská a Štěpánská. The main aim of the work is to create structure wich would offer different functions. These would fill the missing services and offer new opportunities. The result of my design is the construction which is characterized by its public terraces placed on top of the covered parking lots on the first floor. The whole complex is formed by three connected blocks. One of the important parts of the design is to uncover river Ponávka. That would make this area more attractive. The building has 2 underground floors and up to 6 floors. In the first two stories there are different public services - shops, café, restaurant, kindergarten, fitness, art gallery and other. In the third and fourth floor there are offices and apartements. Fifth and six floor are just for living. The construction of the building is from monolithic reinforced concrete frame, horizontal structure consists of beamless slabs.
Water park Brno
Smička, Matěj ; Kotek, arch Jakub (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor)
The topic of the diploma thesis is the design of the Luzanky sport complex in Brno. The main objective of the diploma project was to create a new modern sport recreation area which will be situated next to the existing swimming pool. The main function is an aquapark with indoor and outdoor pools, which will fulfil all needs of visitors. There are few other functions added, such as café, smaller fitness and massages. Absolutely main objective is to connect the existing pool with the pools of the Aquapark - so the visitors could be using all indoor swimming areas. There are also parking spots designed within this project - nearby is a parking garage connected by footbridge leading from the existing swimming pool alongside the Aquapark building. This footbridge is intended for people who come to Brno to the Aquapark - for families with children that is - therefore it ensures safe and uninterrupted crossing from the garage to the new Aquapark complex. This complex will meet the requirements and current expectations of the visitors in the area. It will also increase the attractiveness of the entire territory.
