Weather station for smart home system
Mitter, Martin ; Burian, František (referee) ; Šedivá, Soňa (advisor)
This semesterly thesis deals with designing of weather station whose task is to provide via wireless data transfer on Wi-Fi network up-to-date information of measured temperature, barometric pressure, relative humidity, ambient light, wind speed and directions to smart home system, whose job is to store the values, creates its visualization for users and based on the data regulates the systems. The work describes the selection of suitable sensors for those variables and the design of the structure of the hardware part of the weather station. Theoretical parameters of the proposed solution are compared with the competition. Then the whole system is build and tested.
The influence of the bioclimatological factors and processes on the current status of the organism
FILIPOVÁ, Kateřina
The diploma thesis outlines bioclimatological factors that influence the current state of the organism, health problems related to those factors, and biorhythms that have a crucial impact on the organism. The empirical part of the thesis presents the outcomes of a research realised in a form of a questionnaire that examined the sensitivity of human organism in relation to the weather.
Dispersion and survival of Moorhen (Gallinula choloropus) in urban habitats
Vodičková, Barbora ; Musil, Petr (advisor) ; Reif, Jiří (referee)
Presence of Common Moorhen (Gallinula chloropus) in Prague is a long known fact. Mapping and data collecting of this species during winter is on a low level, so there is not many information about its winter behavior. Present climate change brings not only a change in climate, but in combination with rapid urbanization, also big changes in environment. Wintering locations are moving to the north due to higher temperatures, and also to the cities. This could be fatal for many individuals. Weather is unpredictable and during wintering season of 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 there were very unorthodox winter conditions, which had a significant impact on bird population in Prague. During winter 2016/2017 there were extermely low temperatures with median deep below zero degrees Celsius in combination with large snow coverage. Winter 2017/2018 was overall good for surviving. Reason for great decline in numbers was caused not only by climate and weather conditions, but also by wrongly chosen wintering location. Unique locality of Zoological garden of Prague in Troja district, offers safe shelter even during extreme weather conditions such as freezing cold temperatures. According to statistics , this location is best suited for survival. Keywords: wintering, Common Moorhen, weather, still waters, rivers,...
The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and other factors on road traffic safety in the Czech Republic
Schusterová, Josefína ; Chytilová, Julie (advisor) ; Zeynalova, Olesia (referee)
This thesis focuses primarily on determining the potential effect of Covid-19 on road traffic safety in the Czech Republic, measured by the daily volume of traffic collisions. The additional incorporation of weather and seasonal fac- tors contributes to the complexity and uniqueness of this work. Although it is possible to Ąnd relevant foreign literature on the relationship between the pandemic and traffic accidents, this phenomenon has not been widely studied in the Czech Republic. The hypotheses were tested by applying the Ordinary Least Squares es- timation on time series data. The frequency of traffic accidents signiĄcantly decreased with the presence of Covid-19 disease, especially during the state lockdown periods. A similar pattern was observed by the remaining analysed categories of collisions, except for those with alcohol and drugs detected by the offender, which were positively inĆuenced by the pandemic. The wind is the only statistically insigniĄcant weather variable in our analysis, and the state holidays all turn out to signiĄcantly affect the number of traffic accidents. Over- all, the thesis contributes to the revelation of traffic trends during the Covid-19 disease and helps to predict the traffic safety situation in a possible future state of emergency of a similar kind.
The effect of weather on purchases on online fashion e-shop in the Czech Republic
Borýsková, Nikola ; Chytilová, Julie (advisor) ; Kučera, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis aims to determine the e ect of weather conditions on online fashion purchases in the Czech Republic. Even though various studies have proved the impact of weather for instance on people's time allocation, mood or con- sumer behaviour in an o ine environment, this topic has been explored rarely. Ordinary Least Squares method was applied to estimate the impact of several weather variables (sunshine hours, precipitation, temperature, air pressure, and wind speed) on sales from Czech fashion e-shop using time series data for five years. All weather variables included in our analysis turned out to have a statistically significant e ect on sales. Keywords online shopping, e-shop sales, weather e ect, OLS regression Title The e ect of weather on purchases on online fashion e-shop in the Czech Republic
Web and mobile application for meteorological data collection and visualisation
Šturala, Martin ; Musil, Petr (referee) ; Caha, Tomáš (advisor)
The thesis deals with the development of a web application in .NET 5 and a mobile application for the Android operating system. The applications were created for the collection and visualization of data from the weather station, which was developed in previous years within the diploma thesis of Ing. Petr Mlčák. The web application provides a REST API for collecting data from the weather station and sending data for the mobile application, it also provides a user web interface for visualizing data from the weather station and managing it. The first part describes the quantities that the weather station measures and sends to the server. The second part describes the design of a database structure for data storage. The third part of the work is focused on the development of a web application in ASP.NET, its parts and structure. The functions and their meaning in the web interface are also described. The fourth part describes the design and development of a mobile application and the principles used for data acquisition and display. In the end, the results of the work and the method of testing applications are evaluated.
Comparative analysis of the avalanche situation in the Czech part of the Giant Mountains in the years 2009 - 2013
Němcová, Hana ; Jindra, Matouš (advisor) ; Vomáčko, Ladislav (referee)
TitleTitle: Comparative analysis of the avalanche situation in the Czech part of the Giant Mountains in the years 2009 - 2013 Objectives: The objective of this Bachelor thesis is to analyze the avalanche situation in the period 2009 - 2013 and its comparison with theoretical assumptions of the avalanche's origins in the Czech part of the Giant Mountains. Methods: The method that was used in this Bachelor thesis was a Comparative analysis, that combines analysis of the source materials and their subsequent comparison with available theoretical assumptions. Results: The result of this thesis is the finding that snowslides on the Czech part of the Giant Mountains correspond to the theoretical assumptions of avalanche's origins. Keywords: avalanches, Giant Mountains, Comparative analysis, avalanche situation, weather
The Winter Food Monitoring of Long-eared Owl (Asio otus) in Wintering Grounds
Pražská, Nella ; Andreska, Jan (advisor) ; Hanel, Lubomír (referee)
The aim of my bachelor's thesis is to monitor the diet of the Long-eared owl (Asio otus) in wintering grounds in selected localities in the Central Bohemian Region in the vicinity of the Kladno district. These are two localities that have been monitored before, so I continue on previous work with the same focus. The main focus is the collection, analysis of discards and its methodology. I also deal with the change of food of the eared owl during a certain period with a focus on the winter phase in connection with the temperature and the total precipitation in the given localities. The work also deals with the comparison of the results of monitoring the composition of the diet of the Long-eared owl in the same and other localities from previous research.
Prediction of the atmospheric turbulence
Sloboda, Šimon ; Barcík, Peter (referee) ; Hudcová, Lucie (advisor)
The aim of this work is to examine theoretical knowledge of the refractive index structure parameter and models for its calculation and prediction. Based on data downloaded from meteorological services, the accuracy of refractive index structure parameter prediction using Sadot-Kopeika model was evaluated at ten different locations on Earth. A program was created for the calculation and prediction of the refractive index structure parameter, which uses downloaded meteorological data.
