Linux OS Monitoring
Korček, Juraj ; Očenášek, Pavel (referee) ; Trchalík, Roman (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is design and implementation of monitoring tool for GNU/Linux operating systems. This program monitors logs created by system, system load and computer resources. It notifies system administrator in case of high system load, abnormal behavior or when an error occurs. The resulting product is especially aimed for system administrators of GNU/Linux, whose work will be simplified due to this software utility, which sends notification of only important system changes. It is implemented in scripting language Python and divided into smaller independent scripts for easy implementation of new scripts in the future. This programming language was chosen to ensure operation among all GNU/Linux distributions.
BitTorrent Tracker-Less Peer Monitoring
Vaško, Martin ; Pluskal, Jan (referee) ; Polčák, Libor (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to effectively monitor peers within BitTorrent network. This research is based on distributed hash tables, specifically MLDHT. In the last decade, focus has also been on efficiency of monitoring within network. Existing algorithms do not provide actual efficiency therefore it is recommended to introduce an estimate accuracy using Bernoulli process. The goal of monitoring is to ensure the highest success of peer search. The work focuses on designing and implementing Bernoulli process model. The measurements show that, the in-depth search (LIFO) is better in the short run. The work focuses on the efficiency of time monitoring, estimation of the peer search error and efficiency using the modeled Bernoulli process. Result of this work is the recommended monitoring time with high efficiency.
Implementation of Message Queue as a Service in Cloud Computing
Hanus, Tomáš ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Rychlý, Marek (advisor)
Thesis discusses about different ways of a communication between components of a distributed system. It describes a communication using a message exchange and at the same time talks about other alternatives. It adds details about various models of a message exchange, various message types and about various specifications as well. Commercial tools ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ and Kafka are presented. Special emphasis is placed on describing the way these tools exchange messages, scalability options and others. The web service is designed according to the described features. Its main purpose is management and monitoring of the tool by user choice and easy replacement of this tool with another one. Designed application is implemented using the Kotlin language for selected tool RabbitMQ. The implemented solution allows a simple exchange of messages through the REST api.
Control and monitoring of climate in groups of terrariums
Pavlišin, Tomáš ; Petyovský, Petr (referee) ; Macho, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this master thesis is to propose a system for monitoring and regulation the climate in groups of terrariums using Raspberry Pi platform and with subsequent well-arranged representation through the web server. Each group of terrariums has its own measure and regulation device Arduino NANO that wirelessly communicates with central computer Raspberry Pi. The measured values are stored in the MySQL database in central computer. These values are then graphically displayed on the web page. Limit values for regulation and regulation times can also be set through web page.
Control and monitoring of climate in groups of terrariums
Pavlišin, Tomáš ; Petyovský, Petr (referee) ; Macho, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this master thesis is to propose a system for monitoring and regulating the climate in groups of terrariums using the Raspberry Pi platform and subsequent transparent display through the web server. Each group of terrariums has its own control device that wirelessly communicates with the Raspberry Pi control computer. The measured values are stored in the MySQL database on the control computer. The measured values are graphically displayed on the web page.
Management and monitoring framework based on XMPP protocol
Vachna, Michal ; Poch, Tomáš (advisor) ; Kofroň, Jan (referee)
Nowadays there is lots of programs and tools available for monitoring and management. Each offers a set of features and user interface, which is often in the form of specific application. Tool developed in this bachelor's thesis attempts to prove that using the means such as XMPP protocol, it is possible to monitor and manage remote systems through a chat window in the IM client. Interactivity of XMPP protocol ensures rapid notification , which is very important to monitoring. The tool structure of the core with plug-ins allows users to extend functionality and to adapt it to their own needs.
Communication with external devices in laboratory
Vachna, Michal ; Lokoč, Jakub (referee) ; Kodyš, Peter (advisor)
In the present work the goal is to map present circumstances of computer infrastructure in the physical laboratory, examine the demands and problems at work in the laboratory such as data backup, remote control, disk space sharing, access organization of processes to external devices, version control of measuring application development, running processes on remote hosts. Assess existing solutions, consider the possibility of improvements and propose new solutions appropriate to the needs of the laboratory. As far as possible, in regard to the current operations of the laboratory, implement solutions to selected problems and requirements. The work has to be methodical material and guide for further development of the laboratory in the coming years.
Network Access Monitoring in OnePK Enabled Networks
Kollát, Samuel ; Polčák, Libor (referee) ; Ryšavý, Ondřej (advisor)
This report contains design, architecture and implementation of a system that is used to~monitor services and files in computer networks. The monitoring system is based on~principles of software defined networks. The~first part of the report focuses on the description of~ SDN principles and OnePK platform, which is used for the construction of the monitoring system. The second part of the work consists of the design and implementation of~the~monitoring system as a OnePK application. Finally, the evaluation of the monitoring system is provided.
Benchmarking Performance of WiFi Networks
Hrabčak, Miroslav ; Kašpárek, Tomáš (referee) ; Čejka, Rudolf (advisor)
This bachelor project discusses throughput problems of the WIFI networks. Project analyzes typical problems and factors, that affect decrease of their capacity and concentrates on typical problems of their signal path. Describes techniques of monitoring, detection and debugging causes, which affects decrease of network throughput. The project also includes the experimental testing and analyzes of standards 802.11b/g and 802.11n on the labs WiFi network.
Remote access to control systems
Kozovský, Matúš ; Beran,, Jan (referee) ; Hynčica, Ondřej (advisor)
This work deals with the possibility of remote programming of industrial devices like PLCs or HMIs and other devices of similar aim, as well as the possibility of remote monitoring of their status. The work also includes an overview of usable tools for this purpose, possible settings and rough overview of possibilities of available HW. There is also a basic proposal of developed system for programming and monitoring, with all essential parts. This work also includes a description of the implementation of the necessary programs subsequently testing them. Furthermore, the measurement results evaluated the whole solution was tested on real examples.
