Energy Consumption of Smart Device in Smart Houses
Bína, Ondřej ; Pluskal, Jan (referee) ; Matoušek, Petr (advisor)
A large number of manufacturers are currently developing smart energy-saving devices, which should benefit not only with their available settings, but in many cases also save households on the consumption of water, gas, or electricity. This work focuses on verifying the electricity consumption of the most commonly used smart devices in the home that a person can purchase. The goal is to measure the consumption of these appliances in the home and subsequent analysis of the obtained data. As part of the analysis, the key findings are the comparison of the measured data with the data given by the manufacturer and with the consumption of their original "stupid" alternative. In addition to the mentioned analysis, the output of the work is also a recommendation of suitable device modes for specific use cases.
Design, Creation and Implementation of Software Applications in the Corporate Environment
Pacal, Václav ; Koch, Miloš (referee) ; Novák, Lukáš (advisor)
The thesis deals with the analysis of the current state, design and implementation of a web application in a corporate environment for processing and storing data from an application that does not use relational databases, but works with event-based data. In addition, the application allows the export and transformation of this data to an external database for an analytical application. The thesis includes an analysis of the tracking of data changes in the database and message brokers. In addition to the design and implementation, the final chapter discusses the economic evaluation of the thesis.
System for control of high-frequency power source with reflected power measurement
Zoufalý, Ondřej ; Drexler, Petr (referee) ; Juřík, Karel (advisor)
This thesis briefly describes the function of the selected high-frequency technology and its use. Furthermore, the thesis contains a discussion of the method of designing a system for control of high-frequency power source with reflected power measurement, after which the selection of suitable components is carried out based on pre-selected parameters. Subsequently, the method of powering and cooling the system is proposed. This is followed by the actual assembly of the system and testing of its functionality and measurement of system parameters. In the last part, selected parts of the printed circuit board of this system are described and justified.
Methods of research in libraries - an analysis of methods used for research in the Czech republic and abroad too
Prchalová, Tereza ; Drobíková, Barbora (advisor) ; Zbiejczuk Suchá, Ladislava (referee)
This thesis concerns methods of research, user's satisfaction and methods and tools for measuring quality and performance in the libraries of the Czech Republic and the Nordic countries, especially the library institutions of Norway, Sweden and Finland. The theoretical part focuses on the basic concepts related to research in general. Furthermore, the thesis clarifies specific tools and methods for measuring the quality and performance in an environment of the Czech and Nordic libraries and it also comments on the research methods of the user's satisfaction in the libraries of the Czech Republic. The practical part is composed of an exploration in the Czech libraries by using different kinds of research methods.
Measurement of performance in social services
Kotmelová, Bedřiška ; Vrzáček, Petr (advisor) ; Holasová, Lenka (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on measuring performance in social services, specifically in contributory organizations. The theoretical part deals with the definition and history of performance measurement as such, the description of the legal form of the contributory organization. Furthermore, the author deals with the definition of indicators, the description of their qualities in terms of the theory of performance measurement and models of performance measurement. In the practical part of the work, the author focuses on measuring performance in the field of care service and focuses on three possible and used indicators in the care service, namely the number of minutes / hours of direct work, the number of working hours and the number of clients. It analyzes these indicators in terms of the demands of performance measurement theory, describing the pitfalls associated with them in measuring performance in the care service and suggesting possible solutions. Keywords Performance measurment, social services, indicator, performance measurement models, balanced scorecard, benchmarking,
Performance Testing of Linux Kernel Scheduler
Influence of the exhaust pipe on the speed characteristic of the four-stroke motorcycle engine
Nádvorník, David ; Hejtmánek, Petr (referee) ; Smolka, Josef (advisor)
The content of this bachelor thesis is a summary of the knowledge about the exhaust pipe of the motorcycle and its influence on the power and torque of the engine. Further, the bachelor thesis focuses on additional exhaust pipe systems which help to optimize the torque and engine performance. At the end of the thesis are included the results from the experimental measurement dealing with the influence of the exhaust silencer on the curves of the engine speed curve.

Deployment of Performance Evaluation Tools in Industrial Use Case
Täuber, Jiří ; Tůma, Petr (advisor) ; Šimko, Viliam (referee)
Nowadays software performance is evaluated not only by specialized review companies but it is more and more starting to be a common practice for the software developers themselves. Companies are often forced to develop and maintain their own tools for measuring performance of the developed applications. On the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics there has been created a toolkit for automation of software performance evaluation called BEEN. This toolkit should significantly ease the management of individual performance measurements but it is not possible to test it thoroughly in the environment where it was created. The goal of this thesis is to deploy BEEN in a real environment of commercially oriented company and evaluate the usability of this toolkit for the developers. We will focus on evaluating both objective and subjective positives and drawbacks of this toolkit as observed by unbiased users.
Test bench for heating power measurement of fuel filters
Jahoda, Patrik ; Svída, David (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
This work is focused on the design and realization of a station for measuring the performance of modern fuel filter heaters. The openning part of the thesis is focused on the theoretical introduction to the issue of diesel purity and the function of fuel filters. The second part includes the process of measuring station creation, including the creation of a control application in LabView. The final part is devoted to measuring of several types of filters and method verification.
