Hrdina, Jan ; Očenášek, Pavel (referee) ; Rychlý, Marek (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design and implementation of the application framework for the creation of collaborative web editors that enable peer-to-peer collaboration in real time. The thesis summarizes existing approaches for data replication, from which M. Kleppmann's CRDT (conflict-free replicated data type) for JSON is chosen as the most suitable. Using the resulting framework, the created content can be safely shared in groups of peers, where each member can be assigned different permissions. Own communication protocols based on WebRTC, WebSocket and WebCrypto are designed and implemented for P2P connection establishment and subsequent communication. The framework allows to resolve conflicts and work independently without an Internet connection. For a consistent user experience, the library includes a set of user interface elements for managing friends, groups, and other common tasks. The framework is implemented using functional design patterns implemented in the ReasonML language. The functionality of the result is verified by creating an example application of the mind map editor.

Conflict within biodiversity and socioeconomical development in National parks - case study from the National park Bohemian Forest
KULÍŠEK, Pavel
This thesis deals with the conflicts between nature conservation and the socioeconomic situation of municipalities in the model territory of Bohemian Forest National Park. This territory is made up of six municipalities that have their entire cadastral territory in the Bohemian Forest National Park. These are the municipalities of Prášily, Srní, Modrava, Horská Kvilda, Kvilda and Stožec. A questionnaire survey was carried out to solve this topic, a media analysis was carried out and a SWOT analysis of the opponents and supporters of nature conservation was made. The results showed that the inhabitants of Bohemian Forest NP are not socio-economically disadvantaged compared to the inhabitants of municipalities that do not belong in the national park. The inhabitants of the area are social and nature-related. Residents of the park also have good knowledge of nature conservation and appreciate it. The most important topics in the media analysis were the construction on the territory of the municipalities, the legislative changes and the issues of the bark beetle. Most of the resources come from media of national importance and the rest are classified as regional. The SWOT analysis shows that nature conservationists should focus more on passing on the results of expert studies towards the public. Opponents of nature conservation have interests in the Bohemian Forest region. Based on the results of the work, measures were put in place to alleviate conflicts between nature conservation and the socio-economic development of municipalities.
Demography and Security in Sub-Saharan Africa
Bankóová, Valéria ; Riegl, Martin (advisor) ; Řehák, Vilém (referee)
Given the current trend of rapid population growth, especially in the global South, the question what the implications of rapid demographic change are for security should receive increased attention. The recently established field of political demography has endeavoured to explore the causal relationship between these two factors, but still relatively few studies exist which would apply political demography theory on specific empirical cases. In this thesis, I have therefore examined the case of the First Congo War, as well as selected conflict events in eastern Congo predating it. Firstly, I have looked at the security implications of population change in the colonial and later in the post-independence era, especially in the Kivu provinces located in eastern Congo. Secondly, I examined the Rwandan genocide from a political demography perspective. Finally, I enquired how the massive Rwandan refugee wave to eastern Congo in the aftermath of the genocide played a role in the eruption of the First Congo War. The selected case study approach proved to be useful in both expanding our understanding of the causes of conflict outbreak in the observed region, and further developing political demography theory by drawing attention to a number of so far largely overlooked aspects. It has highlighted the need...
Growing Role of China in African Security
Květová, Lenka ; Karásek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Werkman, Kateřina (referee)
Chinese economic expansion in Africa is a widely discussed topic, but less academic attention is being paid to the role China plays in African security. Since the late 1990s Chinese activity in Africa had been growing rapidly. Beijing's interests are predominantly economic, mostly represented by market seeking and foreign direct investments, and political, generally perceived as a mutual support in international organizations. The thesis focuses on the traditional principle of non-interference in how Chinese policy towards African security has been evolving together with growing Chinese interests on the continent. The People's Republic of China influences African security matters in four areas: diplomatic involvement, arms deals, support and financing, and military cooperation. By analyzing those areas with a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, concrete cases have been identified, when China interfered in internal affairs of particular states, thus altering its policy of non- interference towards more pragmatic and case by case based approach.

At the same time she mentions relating researches both from abroad and the Czech Republic. The author's own research is also a part of the bachelor thesis. Based on 16 interviews with respondents, who are in a relationship while working together, the author comes with a summarization of their ideas about a relationship with someone from work, she describes its particularities from the view of the participants themselves, and she also notes that such relationships seem to be less problematic than it is presented in the specialized literature.
Non-economic neocolonialism and its conflicts
Dvořák, Michal ; Riegl, Martin (advisor) ; Soukup, Jaromír (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to analyze specific phenomenon of non-economic neocolonialism and its conflicts. I have done the analysis of two conflicts (in Western Sahara and in Namibia) in context of the Cold War, I was trying to discover the context between dynamics and domestic political development of metropolitan country and the conflict. The next aspect was a regional dimension of the conflicts, that is why I analyzed the influence of neighboring countries and their motivation in the conflicts. The main aspect was an international dimension of the conflicts, that is why I examined the approach of the Soviet Union, the United States of America, the United Nations and the Organization of African Unity to the conflicts. The main research question was: What types of processes and mechanisms have led Namibia to independence, while the Western Sahara was still under foreign control? The next questions were: What led the superpowers to affect the conflicts, which were in the periphery of world competition? How behaved the world organizations during the conflicts? Had any influence in these conflicts? And last: What kind of interest had the neighboring countries in these conflicts?
