Business intelligence in the generic pharmaceutical industry for portfolio selection and registration strategy

The aim of the diploma thesis is to describe and analyse information sources, which are useful for the molecules portfolio selection suitable for the future development of a generic drug. These information sources should be examined on the case study of the portfolio selection in a given therapeutic area. The topic of the diploma thesis is presented in the context of basic principles and functions of the generic farmaceutical industry and its information needs. The introductory chapter characterizes the farmaceutical industry in general and warn on a competitive environment, which the farmaceutical companies can succeed in thanks to the advanced methods of the business intelligence. The second chapter focuses on the differences betwen the generic and original pharmaceutical industry, a drug lifecycle is also introduced there. The next chapter specifies the methods of the business intelligence in the generic pharmaceutical industry on the ground of its information needs. The fourth chapter plays a key role. First of all, it introduces general characteristics of information sources used in the strategic portfolio management. The aim of my thesis is to analyze information resources in the field of light athletics, to describe its content, structure, tools and specifics. Resources for public in general and for groups involved in light athletics (athletes as well as trainers) are discussed in detail. Thesis describes short history of athletics, its development from ancient times and the analysis of the most important athletics portals.
Sharing of Economic Information and Knowledge in the Context of ICT Development

(in English) The subject of the Diploma thesis is the process of sharing of economic information and knowledge suitable for corporate governance. A special attention is focused on an effective utilization and development of information and communication technologies (ICT). At the beginning, information society and basic terms are defined, such as information economy, economics of information, information management and knowledge management. Furthermore, the strategic importance of enterprise information systems and other solutions for improving business information processes are described in general. The final chapters deal with Competitive Intelligence (CI) and Business Intelligence (BI) and contain the overview and analyses of the most important information products of economic information from commercial and non-commercial sectors [Author's abstract].
Methods of Competitive Intelligence for chemical industrial companies

The content of this thesis is the introduction of Competitive Intelligence and its methods to companies in the chemical industry. The main objective of this work is to create particular solution of Competitive Intelligence for Lovochemie, a.s., i.e. to propose competent employee who will be periodically monitor the selected information resources using Competitive Intelligence software tools. The analyses were used to achieve this objective. At first analysis of the chemical industry was conducted in the Czech Republic and also in the world and analysis of the selected company has been created. Information resources that the company should follow through Competitive Intelligence tools were selected on the basis of this information. The first part deals with the introduction of Competitive Intelligence, intelligence cycle CI, strategic analysis methods and Competitive Intelligence tools for searching and monitoring of information on the Internet. The second part is devoted to the aforementioned analysis. At first the chemical industry is analysed and the world's biggest fertilizers producers are described. This section also introduces the company called Lovochemie, a.s., its competitors, suppliers and customers. In the last part of this thesis, the information resources available to the company and selected Competitive Intelligence tools are described. Finally, the particular solution for Lovochemie is created.
Use of information sources specialized on options of education and professional career

This bachelor thesis is concerned with longlife education and learning issue and information sources relevant with that. In theoretical part reasons for importance of education and following further education for modern human are examined, importance of impact of its social surroundings on its development in continuity with choice of his future profession. Further it is consulting process along with its phases, options of education for adults and trends in a sphere of specialized education and importance of motivation and aspiration trials of individual. In practical part individual information sources are analyzed with its consecutive ratings. Outcome of this work should be systematical whole of individual information sources, which can serve as a tool for counselors (in schools, employment offices o in any other institution concerned with education), which work with clients in sphere of specialized counseling and education.
The use of Competitive Intelligence methods for company Intergraph

Thesis deals with the use of Competitive Intelligence methods for selected IT company. The main objective of this work is the use of competitive intelligence analysis within the company and the characteristics of the company's competitive environment. Another goal is to identify appropriate information sources to obtain information about the external business environment and tools for monitoring them. The theoretical part of this work comes from the professional literature and focuses on the characteristics of competitive intelligence, and the intelligence cycle, including a description of its phases. Furthermore is mentioned the categorization of information sources and described the tools for collecting and analyzing information on the Internet. Part of theoretical part is a chapter devoted to CI in small and medium-sized companies. The practical part of this thesis deals with designing a system of competitive intelligence for a particular company. The first part includes the evaluation of the current situation in the ICT sector. Next chapter contains useful information sources to track and monitor information. Part of the proposed solution is a proposal profile person responsible for the conduct of CI. Thesis contribution in general involves a practical demonstration of using the CI methods possibilities in small business. From the practical side is the benefit mainly evaluating various analyzes, the conclusions and recommendations drawn from them.
Information as a tool for visitor management in destination (České Budějovice)

The main goal of this bachelor thesis was to analyze the information resources and how it is used in management of visitors flow. Further analyze how guides in the destination work with the information and their impact on the flow of visitors due to sustainable development of destination. To achieve this goal, an analysis and evaluation of information sources were made, specifically analysis of the free time section on the official website of České Budějovice and analysis of currently available flyers. The analyzes were based on a qualitative evaluation of ten observers. Then structured interviews with eleven professionals were held (tour guides and head of department of tourism in ČB). The results showed that destination has got a high quality information resources, which help with management of visitors flow. The qualitative research revealed that most of the guides in ČB tend to overlook the importance of sustainable development of tourism in destination and they do not put an effort into informing their clients about ways to sustain tourism. The tour guides underestimate the significance of sustainability of tourism development because of the lack of concern about the negative impact of their activities on the destination. Following these findings, proposals for improvement of tour guides work with information and tour services were made.
Design of Competitive Intelligence for the construction company

This thesis describes the design of Competitive Intelligence for the selected construction company. The main objective of this work is to choose a competent person responsible for the implementation of activities of CI in this company, identify appropriate sources for information about the company environment and tools for monitoring. The theoretical part is based on the scientific literature and focuses on the characteristics of competitive intelligence and describes the various phases of the intelligence cycle. The theoretical part includes the chapter, which deals with the issue of CI in the small companies. Then, there is the typology of information sources which describes the tools for information monitoring through the Internet. The practical part of this thesis deals with the design system of the competitive intelligence for the selected company. The first part has evaluated the actual situation in the construction industry in the Czech Republic and conducted research information sources suitable for tracking environment of the construction company. Based on this research there are recommended sources of information in the next chapter that should be monitored and there are also selected tools for collecting and monitoring information. Part of the proposed solution is the choice of the officer responsible for the conduct of CI. The last chapter of the practical part describes the processes that must be performed by the specialist in the various stages of the reporting cycle and it also determines the structure of the data entered into the system. The contribution of this work is to improve collecting, processing and distributing information efficiency about the company´s environment and to establish a systematic recording of detected events, opportunities and threats. Another benefit is a practical demonstration of the introduction of the CI system that respects the constraints of small companies and an overview of IT tools, which can be used by these companies for systematic information monitoring and collection.

This Bachelor thesis disserts on information sources in arboriculture. It features information necessity of interested parties, being focused on availability, information efficiency and conditions for data acquisition of problems in arboriculture. Information sources are arranged in order of processing stage. Following parts of this thesis deal with sorting out gained information by the help of suggested system considering needs of individual subjects, a momentary analysis and a recommendation for their further progress. While I was creating this thesis, I always kept asking over ultimate questions: Where, What and What For? The cardinal determination is to ease information orientation in arboriculture.
Use of methods Competitive Intelligence for small and medium companies

The presented thesis deals with the possibilities of using techniques of Competitive Intelligence (hereafter CI) for small and medium companies. Its aim is mainly to analyze the possibilities of CI method in case of a specific company in the field of small and medium enterprises. The first part provides comprehensive overview of theoretical information, which is necessary to identify the concept of CI. It begins with definitions of CI and then continues with more detailed description of the field. Next, characteristics of small and medium-sized enterprises are introduced, as well as the possible use of CI in these enterprises. Finally, various methods such as SLEPT analysis, Porter's five forces model, SWOT analysis, and others are described in detail. The practical part of the work deals not only with description of a particular company in the field of building design and architecture, but also with crucial part of the thesis, exploration of external background of the company using these analytical methods and proposal of the proper use of information resources according to needs of the company. The last chapter deals with a suitable method of application of CI in the field of architecture and construction, providing summarized suggestions for the specific company as well as for the sphere of business in general.
