Decompositions of directed and undirected graphs

Eulerian graphs have a closed walk traversing each edge exactly once. Finding such a walk is a basic arc routing problem based on a road network. Most of the problems with applications in operational research are NP-hard. We describe a formal model of a road network and vehicle routes and formulate several arc routing problems motivated by winter road maintenance in the Czech Republic. The main part is focused on single vehicle routing problems on trees. We propose a new unfairness minimization problem for finding a vehicle route with properties that lead to a minimal number of resident complaints against unfair maintenance. Residents feel like they are skipped when the vehicle route has multiple trips and passes nearby without providing maintenance to their street. By reduction of the necklace splitting problem to the unfairness minimization problem we prove it is PPA-complete. Further, we define a restricted arc routing problem on trees which formalize condi- tions given by Czech legislation. We proved the existence of a polynomial algorithm for deciding whether a single vehicle route exists when there is a single priority for roads. Do you know what a fish will do when it runs up a hill?

Diploma thesis entitled Do you know what a fish will do when it runs up a hill? concerns the topic of industrial fishing. Formally, it is an installation that contains two parts. The first part is an oval object on which are attached mechanical fish, which form a moving flock. Using engines, they interact with each other and the viewer accompanied by the song. The second part includes three separate mechanical fish, which create a direct dialogue with the viewer. The installation is located in a white cube. The result is to give the impression that the fish are alive and, with the help of a human voice, get closer to the viewer. Title Do you know what a fish does when it runs up a hill? based on a child's joke. This sentence is characteristic of the topic, in that it is all nonsense. The fish do not run, do not move on land and do not even talk. An attempt at this joke to humanize fish is quickly over when you know the answer. Just clapping tells us how foreign this different world is.

Waste heat to power technology

This bachelor thesis focuses on the methods of waste heat conversion to electrical energy. There are presented and described so far known methods that generate power via mechanical work and methods converting power directly from heat. The thesis also contains an overview of case studies for studied technologies. Finally, all the findings are summarised, the factors influencing the applicability of each technology are presented, and the possibilities of the technology application in the industry are evaluated.

Study and comparison of CNC control systems

The goal of this bachelor’s thesis is to create research of state-of-art of implemented CNC cycles of controll systém. At first the basic problematice of programming numerical control with possibility of own programming. Then the thesis is focused on properties of control systems of companies Beckhoff and Siemens. There are analyzed functions of individual cycles, their features and parametrs, finished with mutual comparison. Ending of thesis is devoted to the development of a macro for two missing cycles of Bekchoff system.

ECG Wave Delineation

This thesis deals with the detailed measurement one cycle of the ECG signal from the known beginning and end of each major wave of this cycle of the values listed in the database TESPRO. Another objective of this work is to find a representative cycle. The text describes the basic types of measurement intervals, principles of multiple methods of measurement and description of the program, which was implemented. Algorithm for Measurement of function-al units cycle of ECG signal, which was designed based on the detection of trend growth in the field of signal using first differences. Functionality was tested on a standard database CSE.

Analysis of multi-cycle training of a Czech top-level swimmer

The bachelor thesis describes sports training of Czech top-leveled swimmer. It deals with analysis of sports and swimming training of observed swimmer in the years 2013-2016. It focuses on the characteristics of sport training in general, swimming training, training methods and individual year cycles. The goal is to analyze the annual volumes of training indicators in three-year training cycles and to identify the causes of changes in performance of the observed swimmer.

Valuation of a stock title with profits adjustment for the impact of business cycles

The bachelor thesis is focused on the valuation of preferred stock title BMW with normalization of profitability from business cycles. In first two chapters, the company is subjected to the analysis from the point of its main geographic segments as well as the point of its profitability, together with factors influencing the earnings. The analysis of the main geographic segments scrutinizes the contemporary situation of these markets and the position of the company on each of them. The analysis of profitability is aimed on very earnings of the company, on the partial adjustment of these earnings and on the identification of crucial aspects that affect the profitability. The whole purpose of the third chapter is the normalization of profitability in order to isolate the real profitability from the one affected by the business cycles and the valuation of the company with utilizing the normalized profitability and the Sum-of-the-parts valuation method. At the end of the whole thesis the comparison between the market price and the intrinsic value of preferred stock is formulated.
