Czechoslovak military emigration in Volyn 1939-1940. Historical background of the Kvasilov Group

Two 1939 Soviet-German Pacts and Their Reflection in the Press of the Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia Abstract The main aim of the thesis is to analyze the reflection of the Soviet-German relations in the Czech legal press of the Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia at the time of the outbreak of the Second World War when the Ribbentrop-Molotov non-aggression pact (23 August 1939) and of the treaty of borders and friendship (27 September 1939) transformed the character of the international relations in the Central and Eastern Europe. At first, the text concentrates on analysis of the contemporaneous circumstances both in terms of international relations in Europe and in terms of internal domestic policies in the protectorate. In the following part, the author discusses the protectorate press response to the two German-Soviet treaties as well as the press attitudes to a number of other related issues such as the Soviet-Japanese conflict in Mongolia. The thesis is based on research of a series of Czech protectorate dailies, namely A- Zet, České slovo, Národní práce, Venkov a Vlajka. However, it also takes into account two illegal Czech periodicals, the magazine V boj and the Communist illegal newspaper Rudé právo.
Spiritual and cultural life in the Terezin ghetto 1941-1945

This disertation is entiteled by "Spiritual and cultural life in the Terezin ghetto 1941 - 1945". The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first part persues to a short introduction of a historical context which lead to formation of the ghetto. The next chapter deals with the Terezin ghetto. There is mentioned a few curcumstances of creation of it, living conditions, which were in it and also a nazi propaganda. The third part is followed up with the spitirual life in ghetto, how it all had been practised and there is also an effort to define a meaning of the spiritual life for people in the ghetto. The last chapter deals with the cultural life, which were developed in the Terezin ghetto. There is described how the cultural life in Terezin had started and also the greatest pieces of art, which were created on a ground of the ghetto. The chosed metodology for this disertation is an analyse of documentations which are preserved after survivors and then the analyse of professional literature which were written about a topic of this thesis.
The Czechoslovak school system in Great Britain (1940-1945)

Summary: The work deals with the educational system of the Czechoslovak Government-in-exile during the Second World War. The need for Czechoslovak youth education was in this time connected with political education and also with the publicity of Czechoslovak exile among British Allies. Therefore the work classifies the provided education and it also deals with future plans for the students. Educational department of Ministry of Interior had the leading role in the education, and therefore its history and organization is also defined. Czechoslovak education took place in a foreign country, so a cooperation was required. The influence of British authorities on Czechoslovak schools, that followed Czech laws valid before autumn 1938, is described. The cooperation between both states in the post-war situation is also studied, as well as the impact of the exile education on its students after their return to the homeland.

Bachelor's thesis is devided to two parts when first part is theoretical and its dedicated to history of Uherskobrodských judes and their lives in Uherský Brod during The First republic. In this part I prefer focus on their lives during 30. of 20. century and changes, which year 1939 brought apon them thanks to regime. Second part is practical and is focused at live story of jude Willy Block, who survived nightmares of Second World War in concentration camps and he is one of witness of holocaust.
Media and their management in the region of Pilsen 1945-1955

Diploma thesis "Media and their management in the region of Pilsen 1945 - 1955" deals with media management in the Pilsen region within historical context of the first decade after the Second World War. It starts with restitution of press in May 1945 and foundation of the radio station in Pilsen. It observes restitution of the journalist organization in Pilsen, including post-war purge of journalists. Further, it describes growing influence of the communist party on media management in the Pilsen region until February 1948 when the communist party definitively gained political power in Czechoslovakia. After the so-called Victorious February, the thesis deals with another wave of purge among journalists in the Pilsen organization and abortion of non-communist press. It introduces the process of nationalization of the printing industry and new goals for journalists and media defined by the communist party. Finally, it describes the first half of the 1950s when other press restrictions and reorganizations of the printing industry in the Pilsen region took place. It presents foundation of a censorship office, the Main Board for Publishing Control (HSTD), within the management of press and radio in the Pilsen region. Diploma thesis Anti-Nazi resistance in Rychnov nad Kněžnou region from 1939 to 1945 focuses on anti-Nazi resistance during the Second World War, specifically in eastern Bohemia, in Rychnov nad Kněžnou region. The introductory part of thesis briefly summarize situation in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and anti-Nazi resistance in general, its main centers including leaders and related events. In the next chapters, the thesis watches situation in Rychnov nad Kněžnou region from 1939 to 1945. Records from chronicles will serve as a main source for these chapters. Next topic is dedicated to resistance groups which operated in this area. Especially their activities, persons and cooperation with other resistence groups. Here, among other things, the written memories of members of the resistance will be used as a source. Next, thesis studies situation after year 1945 - the one of the sources of activity of resistance groups there are written confirmations which were discovered after the end of the Second World War. Established target of the thesis is to introduce organization of anti-Nazi resistance in this area, Rychnov nad Kněžnou region, in the Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia. This diploma thesis examines the possibilities of using techniques and methods of drama education in the work of a first-level primary school teacher, specifically in teaching a patriotic topic. It is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. It the theoretical part, it characterizes the younger school age child and their specifics, focusing on physical, emotional and social development, as well as development of cognitive processes. In the following chapters, it defines the concepts of instruction and education. Furthermore, the theoretical section introduces the notion of dramatic education. It describes how education and dramatic education were viewed throughout history. It discusses more closely the methods, techniques, principles and goals of drama education.
