Voting Rights of People with Intellectual Disabilities

This diploma thesis focuses on the exercising of voting rights by people with intellectual disabilities. The thesis aims to present the topic of voting rights of people with intellectual disabilities within the domestic and international legislative framework and to explore the perception of elections and voting rights from the perspective of people with intellectual disabilities by applying qualitative research. The theoretical part describes elections, voting rights, specific features of people with intellectual disabilities, and availability of the support to vote. The essential part of the diploma thesis also contains a legislative overview, which anchors the voting rights of people with disabilities. The practical part of the thesis deals with the topic of perception of elections and voting rights from the perspective of people with intellectual disabilities. The partial aims of the research are to find out: how do the people with disabilities evaluate the importance of elections; which factors influence their political choice; which knowledge about the topic of limiting the exercise of the voting right through limiting legal capacity do people with intellectual disabilities have; how do people with intellectual disabilities evaluate the availability of information and support to vote. Transformation of social services and the perception of the impact of the transformation from the perspective of clients, workers and guardians

1 Abstract This work concentrates on transformation of social services, in other words, it focuses on the possibilities of disabled clients in the transition from institutional care to support provided within a community. The aim of the thesis is a deeper insight into the organization, which already deals with the above described transformation and evaluation of the positives or negatives of this process. This work has also an ambition to be at the same time a tool for those who are preparing for the transformation process and may have concerns or inadequate expectation from the planned changes. This text also evaluates the impact of transformation on the quality of life of the handicapped and the degree of gaining of independence by a subjective view of the client, five years after the beginning of the changes, and completion of the perception of these impacts by the guardian and the staff of the organization. Sexuality of disabled people and its realization

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of sexuality of handicapped persons and its realization. Its main aim is to chase the general view of this theme, which is still taboo in our society. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters. It specifically defines handicapped persons, their sexuality and specific needs of people with different types of disabilities. It slightly describes the work of social service facilities with the theme of sexuality. Moreover, it is concerned with project "Right of Sex" and sexual assistance as one possibility of realizing the sexuality of people with disabilities. The practical part is realized through quantitative and qualitative research. There were fourteen respondents that were further dividend into three groups. First group was composed by people with disabilities, second by sexual assistants and to the last belonged experts engaged to this topic. This research identified respondent's opinion and view concerning the theme of the sexuality of handicapped persons and sexual assistance.

Use of social business in the labor integration of persons with disabilities

Intimacy of people with disabilities in context of sexual assistance

The bachelor thesis under the name "Intimacy of people with disabilities in the context of sexual assistance" sets the goal of describing the life of people in a wheelchair especially in sexual intimacy and evaluating the applicability of the sexual assistance service and its perspective. In the theoretical part the thesis deals with sexuality and intimate relationships of handicapped people and aims to overcome myths dominating this area. Sexuality of mentally disabled people and those born with a physical handicap is specified. The character of the sexual assistance as a service is described as well as its expansion in the Czech environment, its types and the work of sexual assistants. The difficult aspects of the service itself is dealt with. The institutions working in the field of informing about the issue are also described. In the practical and research part the thesis presents biographies of two handicapped people diagnosed with cerebral palsy. The respondent's view on the issue of sex and relationships of disabled people is based on the interview about his life story. Transformation of social services for people with disabilities in the context of deinstitutionalization

This diploma thesis looks into the transformation of social services for people with disabilities in the context of deinstitutionalization in the Czech Republic. To answer the research goals (1) To find out how the main transformation processes in the field of social services policy in the Czech Republic were performed in the context of deinstitutionalization, focusing on a group of people with disabilities, (2) to find out by the optics of SKCP, how are people with disabilities involved in the deinstitutionalization policy of the residential social services, the approach of qualitative research was used. The approach is based on the document analysis and the expert research. The theoretical starting points of this thesis are the theory of implementation and the components of the theoretical framework of target population's social construction, focusing on political power. With the help of the implementation theory, the development of the transformation processes in the Czech Republic from 2007 to present is explained, the key milestones of deinstitutionalization policy, objectives, present effects, key barriers and implementation deficits are identified. Keeping care for the disabled people

The thesis deals with selected elements related to the care for people with disabilities, focusing on the factors which impede or complicate the treatment. Based on specialized literature, the thesis draws near the life of the caregivers as they cope with disabilities of their loved ones and adapt to new situations in life, change their way of life, be it in terms of housing, family relationships, relationships, employment or financial situation changes.

Employment of handicapped people in the Czech Republic

The main topic of this bachelor thesis is employment of handicapped people in the Czech Republic. There are investigated the conditions of their employment, that are based in the Czech law system. There are also summarized advantages of employing handicapped people, that mean benefits for employers. The goal of this thesis was to investigate the current situaion of handicapped people on the Czech labour market and according to own analysis to suggest improvement. In the first chapter of introductory part are defined terms such as disability and people with disabilities. The second chapter focuses on the Czech law system. I introduce there the main law connected with employing of handicapped people. The analytical part of this thesis focuses on two firms located in Central Bohemian Region. In this part, there are presented data about handicapped people employed in these firms. According to interviews and questionnaires are there summarized company´s own attitudes to employing of handicapped people.

Gender view at the provision of paid sexual assistance for people with disabilities

The diploma thesis on "Gender perspective on the provision of paid sexual assistance to people with disabilities" deals with the topic of sexual assistance. How is sexual assistance perceived in our country and abroad. For our country, the project is quite new and not yet fully resolved. The questionnaire survey was focused on men and women with disabilities as they perceive their own intimacy, whether they are interested in sexual assistance and whether they would like to use it. Gender differences in the issue were clearly apparent. This survey has confirmed the needs of people with disabilities in the sexual area.
